The spectator mode has been discussed before. My biggest concern would be people watching 1) causing lag due to the way the game works 2) being able to see the whole map and using VOIP to tell people in the game what is happening (surely DT would never do this...;))

No afaik - they designed the game to run at 1024x768, so you are losing the bottom part by running under spec!!!

Suggestions 1) Try to get known - people with low game counts or low completion ratio (i.e. 20 games, 2 wins, 2 losses) will often be booted as they are either an unknown quantity (could be a newb or could be JJ/Tyr smurfing...) or are a quitter (or at least crash a lot!!!) 2) Ask for a larger game if it isn't 5v5 and they want to replace you Some people don't like booting, some will. It's the internet. it sucks but it happens. Host your own games if you want. That way

I tried this last night and noticed a similar issue - I believe you need to have visual of the planet for it to work (at least that is what I observed)... Above issue has also been known for a while

I don't build subverters since the nerf as I get at best one use of them before they die - too expensive for that. Incidently I haven't used RA since the change to cost based - too hard to get the labs up and research done while I need to put that money into starbases or actually having a fleet to do stuff with. Apart from the mobile SB, it seems harder to be vassari then it used to be as the flak rips the fighters apart and assailants cost make it hard to outproduce TEC

Large/Huge single star games (4v4 or 5v5) often take LESS time then the 1v1, 2v2 or 3v3 games as once one person dies, a domino effect can occur

No it doesn't - capital planet gives you bonus including alligence levels - you need to pay to setup a new planet as a capital but it is not game over unless it is your last one and you have no other colony ships

The graphics are at this level to allow the most people possible the chance to play Sins. They chose not to make them look like Crysis for a reason..
Proletari, are you saying, "But people don't think of you?".
He's saying r2tincan doesn't want to know what people think of him as it probably won't be flattering - I would assume he is beign funny....

Reply to Rushing as TEC in Strategy

Raging Amish wrote a guide for how to do the tactic Dec has described back in the 1.05 days. Hoshikos rush with the lvl 5 upgrade would in theory see their ships disabled and unable to fire their weapons... (assuming no SC)
I am pretty sure that most military hardware has built in protections against EMP pulses. IT seems like anything we do with nukes would only have a slight effect against the millitary, and then would screw over the rest of the world.
Combat hardware would be - secondary systems like logistics/payroll etc... probably aren't...
by the way, scouts can't take out mines themselves.
Thanks for correcting me - I think in this case I AM right as I have often done it. You need to be careful with the micro, and having other ships around is definately a help
