Send your story and a scan of the receipt to stardock. At this point in time, talking to them/kalypso is your only hope unless you take the store to small claims or something...

Fine - it is 3 questions 1) Where are you located 2) What time do you play Sins (need to work out timezone differences) 3) What are your online stats like? I am available to play more now - let me know when...

1) Fighters kill the following well - bombers, fighters, LRM (Javalis, Illums or Asailants). Bombers kill HC, caps and SB well 2) Yes - you get more creds per second with a longer chain. Having a second or third etc... doubles/triples etc... the amount you get from that grav well 3) Side mounted weapons

First tip is build cap factory first so your free cap is doing the work (and getting exp), then get the LRMs out ASAP. Hard and Unfair AIs get bonus to their income so you cannot outproduce them at the start - you need to outplay them - generally using LF to clear planets will result in them going boom. A few suggestions to try include getting some hoshikos and flak into your fleet and expanding slowly (but not so slowly the AI colonises the rest of the map). It's a balance between fleet

GG is socailly accepted in Sins and Demigod and people I play with feel put out if they win and they don't get it from their opponent - it's like doffing your hat - it shows respect...

AFAIK it uses .NET and SQL Server (based on error messags I have seen when something has gone whoops). Plus of course the JavaScript

What is means is that when you buy the game (either directly via Impulse or with an UNUSED serial (cd) key), you can create an ICO account which is what is used to setup the multiplayer games. What the rest of it means is that you can NEVER sell the game to someone else and expect them to be able to play via ICO as you have already used the serial number associated with that license... They are then saying if you break these terms, or wish to end them, you need to destroy all
The Stardock policy has a non-specific line about activation limits
Please post that here. AFAIK there is no copy limitations on Stardock software, and you do not need to run Impulse EVER to play their games (this may differ for games they sell on Impulse that are not published by them). You DO need to run Impulse to get the patches, and to play online for some games (i.e. log into Impulse to play online Demigod - not an issue as you need to be online to play online:D).

Impulse is great - you can download as often as you need to. As far as I undersand it (since I only have the 1 computer), the archives taken of an installed game are for that OS, so you need to download the archive (platform independent) first if you want it to be platofrm neutral. LAN should work by just copying the game folder and maybe the one under the user for settings (if it doesn't create them for you). Everyone needs it "installed", but since there are no CD-key checks, that i

Repulse is a level 5 tech on a level 3 ship Subversion is a level 6 tech on a level 5 ship... So it is harder to get it and you are less likely to have prebuilt ones in your fleet - advent WILL have guardians to form the battleball...

I've seen something like that occasionaly. Because it is not instant, I queue them up and lose the benefit as it can't build them when queued ones are there. Doesn't matter if 4 is a waste - by having 4, you get the benefit if it is there to be had, otherwise you haven't lost out on anything...

System specs?

Yeah - TEC have uber repair, so if you can turtle for a bit, get trade up and research your balanced fleet, you are in a powerful position as the trade will kick in and you start making $$$ SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!

No - read my posts again. One was maZDa, the other was maRZa - hence I was joking based on what Valkya said. Go back and CAREFULLY read my posts, looking especially closely at the spelling of marza...

167 Replies 72,289 Views
Yeah.. Marza is good at supporting your fleet, but you need a Kol or Akkan as they do a better job of support.
No no no - nothing wrong with a MARZA!!!! I said a MAZDA is no good. Not big enough or fast enough and lacks guns.... Being serious these days, I would have a Lvl 6 marza followed by a Kol as the Kol can have flak burst without being lvl 6, but a marza comes into its own with MB

Raging has Entrenchment as anyone who is serious about multi-player Sins does... (hint hint - buy buy). You get it via Impulse - there is a tab for buying (make sure you are signed in to your account correctly as you don't want multiple accounts) - you then order it, pay for it (CC or pay pall) and then it is available to download... Just to be on the safe side, patch vanilla sins to the latest version first... Just to be sure ;)
I'm not a huge fan of quickstart. but 3labs = Lums 3labs also = carriers Really just means Vasari have to work harder than before to stay on top early game. I don't think it throws the balance off a significant enough margin to be removed. But I would like to see more non-quickstart games.
You forget one thing here 2 labs - FLAK... which kill your fighters... Which means that carrier investment is a waste with the way FLAK vs fig

The other factor to look at here is trade. TEC can throw up 2 civic labs, get trade up and have a 3-4 port chain going and then switch to fully military and be in a good position as 1) they have econ already going (extractors, full planet upgrade) etc.. and 2) they can get it earlier and cheaper. From this point of view Vassari is screwed, especially if they can't hold onto the neutrals they have grabbed - the cost for them is 1000C,150M,250C PLUS 4 civic labs PLUS any planet upgrades needed
His fleet was essentially a Mazda + Javelis spam and a small number of hoshis
Ah - there's your problem. A Mazda is not a good fleet leader (at least it wasn't a KIA... :D)...
What about this scenario-Advent uses repulse and kanrack shoots at guardian. For the ilum to get in range of the kanrack the have to move forward in which case you use subverter to disable ilum.Kanrack pounds guard into dust then works on ilums and cap.I dunno what subverter range is but I know ilum have to move forward to get in range to shoot so they would be ahead of guard.
2 issues: 1) Subverters are a level 5 tech
i have seen that a bit. Rubee always hosts bigger than he will play. I usually never host bigger because i want a fair game not one with 2000 nutrals.
Yeah - he always does 4v4 on huge and will never make it 5v5 even if players are available. Normally results in a 5v5 being setup and a number of people jumping over... Anyway, a few observations I would like to make 1) Generally in 5v5 games there should be at least 1 of each race per team. 2) Qui
