it's ungodly slow, meaning you need to construct it right on the front line or its gonna be 10 minutes just getting to the enemy system, takes 8-10 minutes just to build
Except this would give a HUGE advantage to Vassari - they could build phase stabs... And since they can afford this ship, they can definately afford to seed their empire with some at strategic locations to enable their fleet to roam....

Siddy is the scariest. You just have no idea what to expect from him (talking about his comments as much as, if not more than, his gaming) :D Whip is the least scary. He's too nice to be scary. Kinda like a big Care Bear teddy with DT tags.... [e digicons]:dog:[/e]
If it's hard for the average player to counter carriers with flak or lf, then "tough noogies" (and that includes me).
As I have been telling people for ages - you have to take your licks before you get good at Sins. You learn more by losing to a good player who educates you then comp stomping. Look at step-a-nich. He is very good. Why? He was tutored by one of the best players that was around in the 1.05 days...

Not true. Each race gets a culture bonos. This can remove the opponents one and replace it with yours to swing a battle balance in your favour. It can also help to flip a planet to neutral or save one that is about to go from your empire. And their is a tech that allows advent to see enemy grav wells where they have culture influence. Guess what. This ability will reveal wherever you shoot!!!

It was about 1.1 iirc - they changed it from an ability that cost AM to one that needed resources. So if you have uber econ, it it still better then building the ships, but does not = automatic win by placing a phase stab on every planet you own and steam rolling...

DT = Dream Team = some of the best/scariest players out there. Hence they are the benchmark many other either compare themselves to, or are compared to by others... The community is small enough for the better players to get to know each other...

You can't. You can build your own ships and leave them there. You can build defensive structures. But once they are gone, they are gone. You own it and must invest in whatever you feel is required to defend it. That said, generally it is NOT worth leaving ships behind as you will be better having them with your main fleet since it will advance your boundaries....

My partner has gotten to the stage where she can half tell if I am in game or not. This means she knows if I am in the lobby I can technically come and help her with something. She even knows to look for the chat at the top of the screen as a sign of MP. I'm just lucky she hasn't learned to READ what is said - so pirates and other AI attacking me in SP can pass as prood I am playing and cannot possibly go and unload the dishwasher as it is unfair on the other players!!! :D She also sa

Finally - Someone saying the same thing as the "pros". They have done some research and this cannot be discounted with the "but a pro will win any battle regardless since they are a pro" argument.... If you have a replay handy, post it. It will help prove this once and for all

I have a Q6600, 8FB Ram, 3870X2 and Vista Ultimate 64. There IS a noticable slow down to MP when the host is using alloy at about the 15 minute mark. The game will hang in MP if a user cannot simulate quickly enough and therefore my machine waits to the sync from the host (or the data from all players if I am the host). I have seen 5X5 games play fine online. The slow down generally seems to come with too many AIs as the game has to process them rathen then just implem
