That's one of my many issues with Steam, which I despise. I wish they'd have stayed with Impulse.

That's the problem with a lot of the TEC voices. That's the main reason why I switched to Vasari. I don't understand why some of the voices have to sound so...be it lame, such as the cobalt, or gosh darn annoying. That bigger they are line sound like it came from a cartoon. Why can't they make the voices sound badass like in Starcraft, or at least use a believable military voice.
I have always felt that the starbases should have AA as a option to fit it out with. I mean come on, these can be built as a DEFENSIVE structure. Yes, they can be used in an economic sense, or a a ship builder or a system controller. But if you are building a defensive station, then you NEED AA capability. It is too easy to take a starbase out of action with nothing but some carriers. Yes, you can send your OWN onboard bomb
I have a problem- I get a minidump every time I try to launch the game! =/ C:\Users\BOBMEL~1\AppData\Local\Temp\Sins Dump\Sins-Rebellion v0.60-2012-03-09-13-12-18-5288-2820.dmp
Well, thanks for your input all. Now that sounds like some solid advice, Goafan, but I'm not sure if I'll manage. I'm quite a n00b when it comes to modding, but I'll give it a shot. Not quite sure how everything is going to come together, but we'll see how it turns out. I was originally hoping someone else would have done it already, but sometimes if you want change you're the one who will have to make it happen.
I've loved the longer Sins games for some time now, but I must say that I do appreciate the games that climax and wrap up within a couple hours too. I've come to find that shorter games fit my own, and everyone I play with, schedule's much better. You could always do this by increasing the damage of weapons you use to bombard planets, but I was thinking maybe it would add a unique twist if the structures would change ownership with the planet. I know it wou
After moving into the middle of nowhere (That means Montana, by the way XD) I got myself a laptop so I could still play Sins, even after I had to leave my desktop behind. However, I ran into this really annoying problem- the bottom half of the screen is cut off! This includeds the "start game" button. >_> RAGE RAGE RAGE RAGE RAGE The screen inside of Sins where I set my resolution doesn't show any resolutions to pick from, and running Sins af
Don't the Advent have mines on their carrier? I think I remember seeing Mine squads flying in formation with them. If I've got my head on straight, you have a kamikazi right there.
I'm not much of a modder myself, but I've been kicking around an idea and so I'd like to get some input as to it's practicality, and if anybody else thinks it would be a fun addition. While I appreciate the idea of structures orbiting a planet for being not only logical but also more sensible for the gameplay, I must admit I've been regretting that it seems all the space on the planet itself is wasted. I remember back when I managed to get 7DS working finding a planet t
I don't bother renaming my ships, but I do rename all my planets. I rename them with a co-ordinate so I can find where a planet on a status notice is, rather then trying to remember where I last saw Gethsemane or something. If anybody is interested, here's how I do it- First thing every game I do is line my home planet with the star. If there are more stars, I position my home star(runner lul) system so that it's at the very bottom, and everything else is neatly in pl
Any word on a release? I have a 2.5 on my computer from several months back. I played it long enough to report a crash every other game, and then I stopped until now, when I found that for some reason all the ship models are gone. 0_0 Now I'm wondering if I can't get the updated version unless I buy something, and if I donate somewhere, if it will let me get a version working correctly.
You know, it's funny to me that it turns out that- suprise, it's the Air Force working in space, but now we're guessing it will end up looking more like the Navy anyway. I guess what comes around goes around.
Hmmm. I see what you mean. However, I have to say your point is more on the theoretical and asthetic sides of the spectrums to me. That being said, I do agree with you. See, the fact that deep-space warfare will include "ships" really doesn't nessesarily have any relation to the Navy. You're right in that it will need to change- but it's not for us to decide whether the Navy or Air Force is better for that job, since I doubt we really know enough to make a sound guesstimate.
Ugh. That kind of space battle does NOT sound very cinematic. Screw that whole Space-branch idea. =P I've seen other space craft (sorry, Jalicos) with jets like that on all sides- but this was a cylinder. It might have dawned on that fighters would be the same, though I would bet on one or two jets that can rotate, but I would NEVER have assumed it would be a box. I'm glad my random idea was actually tried somewhere. I wonder if the Navy will pick up on that?
I guess I should report the bugs I found too? I've got the Alpha G, just so you know. I've had 3 crashes myself, in the 3 times I've played Alpha G. Once an hour or so into the game as the Dark fleet, once while loading as the TCA, and the last one crashed 25 into the game as the Arliou. None of them mini dumps, though I got one the first time I tried to activate the mod. They're all just generic Vista "____has stopped working and needs to close" messages. I am liking the mod all in a
I just discovered something- now a vague "7 Deadly sins" is imprinted on the loading screens, and the music is different. I like the new menu theme, by the way. However, that's all that's different. There's still only the three original civilizations, and still the same old planets. I've tried generating random maps and using the custom map thing, and I still don't see any new planets. I don't know how long it's been like that.
Take a look here: www.danmangames.com/mods-sins.php That's what I downloaded- Alpha 7DS 2.5, to be used with Entrenchment 1.041. Or better yet, Diplomacy .90.
I see. I saw something about that mesh limit, but I didn't understand what it was. I've got a vague grasp on the concept of "mesh" but I get the idea. Thanks for clearing that up. I will consider helping out, if theres something I can do without the foggiest on how programing works. If you don't mind, tell me what I'm doing wrong, or anything else I can try- I extracted 7DS to the mods folder, enable it, and nothing changes. It's as if I'm just playing Entrenchment without the mod. I
Thank you. I'm disapointed that the original races aren't available- I see no reason why I couldn't have them too, if only for the sake of variety. Regardless, this looks awesome. I can hardly wait for this to finish downloading! I think I will download the other pieces too, and only play with little bits at a time.
One question, if anyone happens to know- Can I choose which individual piece to play with? For instance, could I pretty much play as if the only mod I have is Sins Plus? That's actually the main reason I'm getting 7DS, because that mod doesn't seem to work. I think it's just outdated.
hmm, subs will never be able to leave atmosphere. My personal impression is that all types of craft will still be useful, and used, but lines will blur between atmospheric and space capable craft, hover tanks and VTOL gunships, heavy weapons emplacements and anti-orbital craft gunnery.
I'm in agreement regarding the lines bluring as you say, however I won't put that limit on subs, as far out as the idea of them being c
They might work together and blur around a little (or a lot), but regardless a specific space corps is going to offer a large competitive advantage to whoever makes one first. And arms races are usually pretty neck-in-neck.
True. Maybe you're right. My guess is that the Air Force will turn into just that, and might either replace or merge(in which case it would probably be refered to as the Space Force, using all 20 watts o
well, if we develop a fusion-based economy then- the gas giants (particularly Saturn&Neptune (or is Uranus?)) would be of great value, as they have large Helium-3 reserves in their atmospheres (assuming we develop 3He-D/3He-3He fusion cycles). There are already missiles that are designed to kill satellites (ASAT) and ballistic missiles (ABM); ABMs can't be used for ASAT (usually), while ASAT can I think be used a little for ABM.<br
well, the main problem for space warfare at present is the fact that- the only place worth fighting over (right now) is Earth. And everybody is on Earth. If Mars, the Moon, various Gas Giant moons, various dwarf planets were colonized, then things might change, but the most desirable piece of real estate in the Sol system is Earth. Things may change if 1) some method of FTL is developed, as slower-than-light interstellar war

I assumed Nasa would become a Military branch or something else would take that place, like you said. Here's why I changed my mind:(other th
