It depends on how many changes they make if they did a sequel. The art assets take a long time, but if its mostly the same, they can use the current high rez textures as low rez textures in the sequel. They could use the current game and engine to tweak gameplay changes and balance new units until the new engine is done. Then import everything and you're pretty much done. I think you could churn out a Sins 2 with 64-bit, dual core support in a short time (not that I could a

while I agree that removing the keybinding would eliminate the ability to intentionally exploit via the z-axis, there would still be complaints from the times that you unintentionally end up in positions which are not exactly fair. And then theres the AI. If the AI can do it, why can't you? However, it does seem to be something they could fix for Rebellion. The actual fix wouldn't take much work, but you have to commit some time into thinking of a solution.

Well, I had suggested in another thread another kind of culture bonus that I think the Advent should have. Basically, every ship has it's own unique bonus while in culture. I havent fully fleshed out this idea, but an example might be that carrier cruisers spend less/no AM to phase jump while in culture. But Disciples would have something completely different. Now, that, I think, would help bring the advent back to a stronger position and reflect some of that culture

Well, looking at the current armor classes, I would expect something in the medium and/or very light class. Both are because theres currently only 1 ship type with each of those classes. As for attack type, antimedium is only held by the almighty LRF. Of course, it's possible theres new armor classes and attack types. So.... I wonder if a few corvettes added might make an alternative series of counters to the Light Frigate that isnt countered by LRF? This takes away the v

master1a is correct. But to look at it from another perspective (use whichever depiction makes the most sense): Each ship has an armor class and a damage class. This is in addition to the damage it does and the hit points it has. The damage class is always 'Anti-' something and pairs up with the armor classes. The armor classes are: Very Light, Light, Medium, Heavy, Very Heavy, Capital Ship, Pirate, and Module . So, a ship which does 10 damage per second might

... I don't know. I guess the age from the Roman empire to the start of the renassance? On topic: I'd like to see something about corvettes. Just to get an idea of what they're aiming for. For Titans, we all knew what they would be like (obviously, we didnt/dont know details); and they are cool to see, I admit it. But the corvettes, no one knows for sure where they fit in or have an idea of how many corvettes each faction gets. Some concept art for these would gi

[quote who="Wrath89" reply="44" id="3024994"] What do you think about just giving the TEC/Advent SBs some sort of buff for their current relative disadvantage, just one that doesn't make them similar to the Orkulus? I think the buffs should be something keeping in line with their faction, rather than something that just copies (or comes close to copying) the Orkulus. I actually just posted a proposal for this sort of thing: perhaps an Advent starbase could by default broad

No knowledge. On a side note, what do you call the age of swords, shields, armor, mysticism and such? That's kind of what I was aiming for.

Hmmmm.... the Cyhyraeth looks a bit strange to me, in the 'head' section. It might just be because this is concept art and it looks different that a 3d model, but that looks too... asymetrical? organic? On the other hand, the texture is right on the Cherubim, but the shape feels a little too delicate. All the current advent ships have a polished, shiny, paladin look to them. The 'head' on the Cyhyraeth looks organic or grown, not plated in polished metal, like

I can't believe this thread is still going... I just had that idea and then kinda wrote it off when I thought about the practicalities balancing it. Since it's still going and the discussion seems to have drifted, here's more ideas: All advent ships, and it's different for each kind of ship, get a good bonus in culture. This feeds into their culture-strong theme, while still limiting the effectiveness: you either have to attack without the bonuses or wait to bui

I shouldn't have led the 'my team sucks worse than yours' charge :p See, I think the Bears situation over the years has been worse than if they were a team that lost every/most games. At least theres consistency there: You have a very clear reason why they lose and what is wrong with the team. But the Bears are very inconsistant: They give you hope and confidence and then rip it away. And when they lose, it's often because they sucked at the very reason they won last w

Look, I'll tell you the reason I don't play online: Sins is very technical. I've been playing for years against the AI and while I do have strategies and such, I often quit the strategy to try something. I'll stop and look around at the scenery and try some strange tactics just to see what happens. I also start games and quit them midgame if I think I made a mistake. If I were going to get into multiplayer, I'd have to commit to strategies, follow through

assuming he's not at the point with bugged illuminators, of course :) And as for football... just be happy you don't have the Bears for your team. Its always a crazy roller coaster. They beat the teams they have every right to lose to and lose to the teams they should handily defeat. Every time, for years. I'm happy that headway has been made, but it seems to me we still don't have all the right pieces together.

the lag SUCKS . I enjoy playing long games and this always becomes an issue. I suppose it matters how many planets you have too. I dont remember exactly the most I tried, but I was trying to simulate a star cluster. I think there were 200 planets, and I was going to do more, but I got annoyed with the in-game editor :)

this is what tabbed browsing has done to us. I prefer the original tabbed browsing.
