I hadn't tried it yet, but I assumed you could change the SquadTypeEntityDef:0 "SquadTechCombat" to read "SquadMYNEWSHIPS" and then create a new entity based off of the fighter or bomber entity to make new types. I don't know if you can add a 3rd slot, though, and like I said I haven't tried this yet.
I do not have permission from CCP, and I'm very well aware that I don't need it. However, I do plan to start talking with them when there's more to show. But until there's any reason to bother them, this is just a project I'm working on in my spare time for myself. When it becomes more than that, I'll show them what I've got and see if they're cool with it. Not trying to piss in anyone's cornflakes.
I know I saw this somewhere, and now I can't remember where it was. I want to change it so there is no free first cap ship. I don't think I'm crazy, I am almost certain I laid my eyes on that line somewhere.
It's nowhere near complete, mind you, but I have completed basic stats (don't let the basic fool you, this has been a tedious conversion) on the Minmatar ships I'll be using for the first release. or you can copy and paste the lists into notepad and make use of the 'find' feature to ease your eyeballs having to look through the list. I tried to keep with a common theme describing the buffs to make it easier to search if you know what words you're looking for. I think I developed my little descriptive convention about a third of the way in so the first third may not be perfect, I'll probably go through the list again and make sure they all have similar keywords.
Has anyone tried changing the speedboost buff so the unit uses it on itself? I thought I had it straight but while it has no errors, and it activates and does everything as it should, the only thing it doesn't actually do is increase the unit's speed. I have it set to increase speed and acceleration by 500% or 5.00 instantAction buffInstantActionType "ApplyTargettedBuffToSelfNoFilterNoRange" is what I'm using to get it to target itself, any ideas

Apologies for this post, I managed to figure it out. I often post and then figure things out for myself, helps me get my thoughts straight. It turns out I was correct in my assumptions, except I'd forgotten to change the PerBank damage to reflect the fact that the bursts don't add to damage at all. Also the number in game appears to be DPS.
I'm looking at all the options to do with damage, and cooldowns, and as I enter in my information then test it, it seems to not be quite what I was trying to do. And then as I've been messing with it more, thinking that I knew what I had done wrong, and attempted to increase the damage output, I have actually lessened it! Ok, that helps actually. I have figured out what I was doing wrong with mine, though I'm not sure why a known good downloaded mod didn't work. But all I want is for mine to work, so thanks.
I can't get any mods at all to work. No matter what it is, from downloaded mods to mods where I just change one number in one file. All that happens is it hangs at the options/mods screen and if I alt tab there's a message about a dmp file being made. After I acknowledge that it crashes. I'm running v1.04 using mods for v1.04 or editing the v1.04 files. I've done a lot of work on my own project so far (before I even started trying to playtest; stupid maybe

Cool, thank you for the reply. I'm glad I didn't spend all day today working on this for nothing. I've got most of the Buff files listed with descriptions of what they accomplish, that should at least help (it will me) give a reference for what's in the game now and how it works so that we can edit them for our needs or make new files.
Is there a list somewhere that explains what each buff and ability does. And is there a list of the various commands we can use and what they do? An API? I've been looking around for something like that and haven't found anything. It makes modding just a little bit more difficult, so in case there isn't anything like that available, I'm working on one myself.
I've decided to go ahead with an EVE conversion mod. I don't do graphics, so I'm going ahead with everything else until I can get some assistance. Trying to get a feel from the community if there is any interest in an EVE mod. Would anyone be interested in playing an EVE based strategy game using Sins as a platform? Are there modders out there interested in helping on such a project?
