Do you have capital planet victory on? If you do they can't move it.

It's fine as is in smaller games (1v1 and 2v2), kind of weak even. Nerf it again and you might as well just remove it entirely. I have no doubt it's broken in huge team games. The only solution may be to have a gentleman's rule banning the tech (or TEC Rebels) from custom 5v5 games; I'm assuming there will be a proper ladder and matchmaker this time around, right?
Yeah, I basically stopped using the Advent AI because of this in Diplomacy. This is a rather serious AI issue that pretty much completely breaks the Advent AI, as fighters and bombers and kind of import to Advent. I'd even go as far as to say disable the AI from building Homing Mines is a fix can't be found.
Actually one important complaint still remains; spamming tons of corvette's is annoying and lags multiplayer. The TEC design still needs to be adjusted.
Ironclad says they have plans for them in the next major patch, so we'll see how it goes from there. Right now they are indeed garbage.
Diplomatic Victory simply doesn't make sense, as no Human player would ever let another Human player win this way. Occupy 'Orion' win? Great idea, causes a King of the Hill scenario. Tech win? Sure, kind of like wonder wins in AoE - causing everyone to desperately rush the tech player in FFA games. Win by being nice to everybody? Oh hi, I break all my treaties with you and scrap my envoys. It only works against AIs who don't understand
I've said it before, I'll say it again; balancing for 5v5 games is a waste of time and energy. You simply cannot judge Titan balance when someone is fed by a player who doesn't have to do anything but spam trade ports. Of course 5v5 is going to be worse in Rebellion when there's a clear shift towards making super weapons and units a bigger part of the game; things that are still hard to get in smaller games. As GoaFan77 said, with Rebellion hopefully gettin
what I found amusing in the report is the large DROP in Impulse use after the sale to Gamestop.... Interesting Eh, it's not really that shocking. Most PC gamers have little reason to trust Gamestop. Everyone I know that used Impulse, myself included, have not used Impulse for anything more than re-downloading something since Gamestop took over. Not to mention Gamestop getting the rights to many more games is unimp
Interesting read. I didn't know the primary reason for Elemental's failure was that too many good employees were tied up keeping Impulse going. I didn't get it, as the reviews and customer feedback on the forums made it pretty clear it wasn't a solid product; however I will keep my eye on the sequel now that it's being given full attention and a complete rework. Sins Rebellion beta is looking decent so far, but I can't get too excited on their other
It's not...ultimate enough. The other titan's ability is a HUGE battle swinger. The rebel titan is like 1000 damage added to snipe. With mitigation it's not even 500 bonus damage. It should be a power-up that lasts for X seconds instead of being used up after one shot, allowing all three skills to gain empowered effects and also giving a passive damage bonus on top of that. That would give it enough punch to be worthwhile.
I agree with the notion that this game mode should have it's own seperate maps. Hoping the random map generator places it in a fair location simply isn't going to work, and the mode will never be used much like most of the other victory conditions. Doesn't have to be a lot, a 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4 Occupation map is probably enough to cover things. Just keep the maps simple and balanced, since the main attraction is the objective planet.
It works like the standard flak frigates, it can fire at normal ships. The shots look like a huge shotgun blast.
It's a tier 8 tech and unless there's an awesome chokepoint your opponents simply can't bypass, putting all your eggs in one basket isn't a very good idea. Most games will end before anyone can really make use of it. If anything it should be availible earlier, so you could throw up two basic starbases as a strong mid-game defence option. As for the extra upgrades thing, it's a pretty safe bet one of the other races is going to get that as it's an ob
Another thing that seriously hoses the Corsev is that Boarding Party can't be used against others caps and titans, not even to deal damage like with buildings. This makes the Corsev woefully useless in cap vs cap fights.
Making the fighters use pulse weapons makes all kind of sense. Hopefully they did something with their HCs and Wave weapon upgrades.
Just played a game where a defensive AI had nearly 0 normal ships, but built a titan and like 8 cap ships. It was hilarious, but not exactly an effective strategy since there's minimal DPS output.
WRONG. the fixed maps are NOT symmetrical. Resource rocks, militia counts, plantary bonuses (ever had an ice world with massive galciers and fauna?) and artifacts are all not distributed evenly ever. Which is, of course, absolute BS.
Some of them are, many of the them are crap though. Hence why seeing the map preview would help you remember which ones were bad.
Making loyalists not require prerequisites for it is fine, but having it at tier 6 is a massive mistake. It needs to be moved to tier 8.
The bigger weapon issue with Visari is giving them an incentive to use NON phase-missile units. Power aside, their tech tree and unit weapon types just favour maxing phase missiles are ignoring all else. It's not good at all to have their tech path so rigid. There's been many suggestions and thoughts on it before, I'm sure the devs are aware of it. Lets wait and see what they've done.
Impossible to say without seeing the other races. I didn't play Advent much before, so I'm really interested to see what new options they get.
what lvl ai r u playing? it might explain y its seems of easy i play again cruel and its harder then it was before the patch
I generally leave it on Unfair. While the AI will never be as good as a Human player, you shouldn't have to play on mega-cheating levels for it to handle basics. I'm not doing anything crazy, and yet even with a small resource advantage from Unfair it's failing hard at keeping up with me early
Agreed. Frankly, I don't think I've EVER played a non-random map, before. What's cool about some of them?
The advantage to some of the fixed maps are that they're symmetrical insuring nobody has an advantage, and tend to be smaller than random maps for faster games that heavily discourage having an 'econ player' who can get away with doing nothing but f
I'd like to play some of the non-random 2v2 maps since medium random is a bit large for 4 players. There's just one problem; I can't remember which ones were decent because I can't see the map before the game! This would be a MUCH appreciated feature.
Some things I've observed with the new patch, trying a 2v2 with AI on different settings. It actually attacks now at least, so there's that. I know the AI isn't the focus just yet, but some suggestions for things that need to be worked on for the future: -Repeatedly seen AI sending a single cap to attack a desert planet with like 15 neutrals guarding. And it wasn't passing through, it was sticking around to fight. -Allied AI will give you insane mis
The Corsev is a steaming pile of a cap ship in its current form. Boarding Party is just incredibly weak. Low damage, high cooldown, high AM cost.
