I absolutely agree with that. Superweapons should have an effect on allegiance. Going to war should have the same effect, too; losing diplomatic agreements and getting your rear handed to you isn't very uplifting.

You must remember that Vasari are the uber race with increased cost, while Advent use zerg tactics with fast, cheap units. TEC are relatively in the middle. First thing I thought when I saw the Advent ship: Incursus class! It's a frig from EVE-Online. Looks good so far, but the models do need to be a bit more detailed.

Take common colonization frig. Move frig to 'roid belt. Press the button next to colonize. Click on an extractor. Keep in mind, this takes anti-matter.

Well, I just wanted to throw out some ideas. I know DANMAN already has his 7 Deadly Sins mod out (and I'm a contributor), but what I mean is more of a gameplay mod; not content. I realize that some of my ideas are impossible unless a dev includes it in a patch, but I think we perhaps get some ideas moving, and maybe some modders can take an idea or two. No, abilities would count as bonuses and such, although I could be wrong. Look at the file for Gas planets - they can fry close by frigates, so perhaps you could modify that to a more bolt/missile-like effect emanating from a planet, and perhaps take some command strings from the gauss gun and use it there to specify what and when to attack.

lol On March 31, 2008, a little game called StarCraft was released. Ask around here about it. Anyways, I'm not asking you to not employ it in direct combat, but this thing should be able to be avoided by an opposing strike force and should be able to be taken down by a navy you'd find close to the endgame, or at least be heavily damaged. The ship should not be invincible at all.

Well, plasma's plasma. I don't think it would be very missile-like, although to me, you don't see any actual components, and the way the cannon launches the warhead, by charging up and then firing across the rails, doesn't seem like a missile or a plasma shot to me. 'Capturing' a shipyard seems like a very bad idea to me. It should take a LOT of effort to build one of these. I compare the Olympus Class to the Titans in AOM (and, I suppose the Titans from EVE-Online): The Titan Gate (Titan spawning place) was only unlocked at the highest tier of research, and it took like 30 villagers and a lot of time to construct it, although this wasn't much of a problem as you had most of your buildings constructed by then. Aractain's post was confusing... What we've found out in the SoundMusic.sounddata file, there seems to be a limit of 115 tracks in the file, at least for the entry that says how many files total there are. Anything above gives an error in dev.exe But anyways, this is an Alpha release. If anything needs to be changed, I can reupload the two major files and link them directly here, while I can just modify it for the torrent. I suppose the devs didn't think we would be ad

I just considered something; What if we did transfer over BitTorrent? It's not hard to set up, and it would allow many people to seed and be able to distribute the mod quickly. What do you guys think? 400 megs is our v0.1a release size.

Hmm, I always thought the Novalith was seriously underpowered when considering the explosion and damage. I remember in Act of War: Direct Action, firing a Nuclear missile or a Tacit Rainbow Missile, and following the path it took would reveal some of the fog of war. Perhaps you could do both?
