There's also something with Humble Bundle...you're buying games outside of Steam, but you can also get redeem code to register with Steam too...all things considered, I don't think that it's impossible (though might be hard) for Ironclad/Stardock to have customers to get their old serial, and generate new one for registering with Steam... And the question is: if there's new updates, will it apply to all outlets or not?
onyhow
I dunno about the Vasari vampire... I don't think an empire that large can crumble that easily, espeically when the Dark Fleet sent are totally destroyed, which I don't think vampires can do that to ships... Cosmic horror/psychics makes more sense, though...
It's weird that IGN use footage from Entrenchment (me thinks...)...still, way to go Ironclad and Stardock!
This comes as a surprise to you people!?
Yes...I mean, I'm not surprised that Sins will get Strategy of the Year, but with GTA IV, Mass Effect, and few other games it seems that the chance is pretty slim for Sins to get PC game of the year...and for innovative, I do think that Audiosurf is hot damn innovative, so it's quite a surprise... Way to go Ironclad and Stardock! Next year
You see fellows, what Wanderer17 and Bigglesworth_XIII have been secretively hinting at all through this thread is that realistic space combat is BORING.
War is hell, not fun...you know...
I seen to constantly getting download error...can anyone help? (only got at most 50%, them boom! Error...)
Or you play multiple systems and P2 is a sun or something?
I have never been able to work out how/what the targetting array does - I understand the Ceilo - more damage etc...
I think it's more used for helping flak to hit its targets...since I think it has less to hit against fighters/bombers...and increase the range of the LRM to make them snipers...? That's my guess...
- Like Dominators, you won't see this unit often. It's abilities are rather lackluster.
You mean subjugators right? But then...it's wrong spelling on Domina Subjugators too...
True fighters are more effective because they are faster and move in 3d but my point was about weapons. If you could mount large weapons on a small spacecraft why build big ones?
One reason being waste heat... Sure, you might fit it on fighter, but if you don't have adequate heat radiator, your fighter will melt...
ok so its still not working i open the game, go to ironclad online and then creat account, type in a username i want and my password and then the 30 digit code on the sticker inside my cd case and every time i press enter it pops up saying :wrong version of ironclad online detected" wats going on?
Possibly that you need to update the game to latest version first...
Novalith is more like super huge nuke or something...not high power particle beam LHC can produce... Novalith should be more like antimatter warhead fired by railgun...or replace antimatter with huge nuke...
I think it depends entirely on what weapons we have when we do get to space combat. If big weapons can be fitted on tiny fighters then thats all we will have. Why would govts spend billions developing large spacecraft when a tiny fighter would be cheaper? If however we need a massive generator to power said weapons then ships will get bigger to accomodate.Look at terrestrial fleets, once battleships ruled the waves but as soon as large weapons capable of taking one out from a small plane w
Thanks for all the help! I found the problem. My capital planet had been overrun and then when i took it back, it wasn't my capital planet any longer. My max allegiance on all my planets were at 35%, which made me loose about 65% of everything i harvested or collected. A new capital and everything worked fine again! Which brings me to another question, how do you increase the max allegiance at planets far away from your capital planet? The farther away, the less allegiance How's that goi
Did you upgrade the planet infrastructure? Planets are a drain on your income until you upgrade a certain amount of levels.
I think that was only suppose to hurt credit income? Did you research any fleet upgrade?
I've read a lot of this thread and found it all immensely interesting. So, I'd like to ask a question. I want to know why people say that stealth is not possible in space. I know that some people have said something about thermodynamics, but i'm wondering whether it really needs to be that complicated. In deep space (aka outside any forces of gravity produced by stars), wouldn't the cold vaccum across the ship help bleed off heat without the total reliance on conductive "fins"? So, if it
Point is, that's still under 1% percent of the humans making a guess and actually being remotely right. That means there's probably a 5% chance of one person on this forum actually coming close to making a right guess. Being extremely optimistic that is.
5% is still better than nothing, though...isn't it? Actually, Jules Verne predict something like the Internet and pocket calculator too...you can't underestimate human imagination...
Okay...espionage? Let's see...sending a small probe with FTL capability to take pictures, record transmissions and FTL out? The thing is, the only possible way is to go in very close and use FTL drive to travel, since it's faster than light... Beam spread out? Light normally has inverse square law, but not sure how much of it applies to laser though...
Oh...the licensing thing was only my guess, though...it can be wrong...so, don't get too much about it...I've been waiting for a long time to acquire legitimate copy in Thailand...(I thought at first there's no hope...at least I got it now...)
I used Thai version and the default folder is Program Files\Kalypso\SinsAnd you have a working, registered serial key? I am not aware of any Thai translation of the game--Kalypso in particular is only distributing the game in Europe, so if you have an actual Thai-language box then it is likely a bootleg. In any case, the patch should detect the game's location from the registry, regardless where it was installed at.
Well...New Era got to distribute the game from Kalypso...so, y
For patching, if the folder is different from the Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins, can you just copy the files that was used in 1.05 patch into the folder that you install it? I used Thai version and the default folder is Program Files\Kalypso\Sins, and the patch install files into Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins... Also...will Impulse recognize the folder placement if it's not in Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins?
Anyone here watched the anime series Starship Operator? Personally I think if there will be ever be space combat, that's the most realistic model.
Except for the detached laser module thing, and plasma weapon...I agree... Um, a bit of question...has anyone think of how will the spacecraft will position themselves in the battle, if there are many of them? Considering things like propulsion...(too much power and it can kill other crafts easily...), weapons syte
I guess that the video card might be a bit weak... The minimum requirement says that for GeForce, you need at least FX6600 to play... Guess that GeForce 4 being able to play at all is quite lucky already...
We cannot build FTL drive in the first place.
Read my last posts regarding FTL theory...it might, might be possible...
I'm not saying that there is stealth in space, we are past that point. I'm asking if Point defense systems, that can be used against missiles, be used against kinetic kill missiles( non engine fired from a rail gun or coil gun type weapon)?
Well, I don't think it will work...since normally to destroy missile you either make it explo
Warderin, don't magnetic shields exist already? Isn't that what the researchers use to contain the tiny amounts of antimatter they can create?
Even if it do...it will only ward of charged particle... Only thing that I can think of that have closest resemblance to shields in the movies are cold plasma...and some combination of laser screen and nanotube screen to protect from getting fired at...(source: Physics of the Impossible, Michio Kaku...)
