I use both Impulse and Steam. I happens that my newest games are all on Impulse. Seeing competition in markets is very important to me. Steam has secured its place in the gaming world with its products and services. Impulse is innovative and carries its own business goals into the fray. This will make for an interesting battle in the years to come. <span style="font-size: 7.5p
future feature request, stardock.... include a setting option to censor the content. ;)
The ONLY thing that I really want to change about the game is the "Let's kick some ___" voice clip on the Marza. Is there an easy way to change it? I would even use one of the other Marza audio clips if it could work.
Which eats more of your time? Facebook, Myspace, or the SINS forum.
At one point SINS would only use multiple processing cores for the initial load of some of the graphics (correct me if im wrong). Is this still the case? Is there any hope in pushing part the battle/movement calculations onto the second core? Game speed on giant maps still progressively gets slower for me. Doesn't really seem like a video issue...maybe Im wrong.
Enders Game by Orsen Scott Card is in the works. It may or may not come through. There are lots of difficulties around making it happen. How do you find a 7 year old that can act like a military genius. Battleroom etc. Another Card book was specifically written for different media types called Empire. Its also a fun little read. It would easily conver to a movie.
is that a stock install of sins? if not, or if you have used mods, uninstall and remove anything you can find related to the game. reinstall and test again. if the error persists, then its not the game. more than likely you have a software conflict with an antivirus app or memory resident app. it could also be your windows install of course.
updated 1.1 is in beta right now. beyond that there may be expansions. if you want more try some of the mods that have been developed. :)
i beleive they do stack. i have seen the ai use as many as 3 in a grav well. someone please correct me if im wrong.
:) better yet, they drop of out phase space speed. then crawl to their destination.
what happens if a phase gate is destroyed before the fleet using it arrives?
dont forget that its a beta. i work professionally in software qa and i can tell you, that things will get frustrating for you on every release.
small random map. won the game and continued to take out the pirates. not a single artifact in the game, but one was happily waiting for me on the pirate outpost.
i dont feel like reading, but if you only look at os 7.5 then most of what was in the article is accurate. but 5 or 6 years prior to os 7.5 was Version 6. v6 had many applications that were solely designed to provide desktop level information similar to the widgets and toolbar. stardock, i love sins, but i will need to see something better than 1996 material when it was being done in the mac enviroment in the late 80's if not sooner. plus with os 7.1 you had another app called launcher that
so it destorys the mine itself? that cant be right. if you could destroy the mine, the you destory mines at planets too. sounds like a bug to me. most likely they expected the neutral mine to act the way a planet mine would and it didnt.
saying sins rips off another game that is a space rts is kinda silly. sins is ripping off simcity and command and c&c or risk for that matter if you look at it that way. sins is a highly enjoyable game that was designed to fit into many levels of play. they definately reached that goal. i guess you might see CoD4 as rip off of wolf3d too. idk.
move thread, wrong forum. i have all of the above.
its "the i dont read thru forums before posting" disease. its must have spread from the strategy forum to here.
yes. read thru the threads on this forum for more info. Here is the 2cent version. You will need to research long distant jumps. Location of the tech varies depending on race. Once researched, move the ship/fleet to the local star. Then set the destination to the star you want to go to. You must have manually charted the jump before the computer can auto route between start systems. For more info, read the 2 dozen threads on this topic in this forum.
in reading the WoW agreement... Ownership. ^broken. Here are the trademark issues I'm sure. Limitations on Your Use of the Service. ^broken. They say dont cheat. Rules of Conduct. Section C Part 1. ^broken. They spell out that you cant tamper with the game in case you missed it under Limitations. Acknowledgments. ^again states that Blizzard has rights over the 3rd party app. Equitable Remedies. In the event that you breach this
"The user already owns a legally purchased copy" Well, when we buy software we are purchasing the right to use it. The dev/publisher still owns it. We simply by a license. This guy obviously broke the EULA so his license is void. On a broader scale, the EULA has been broken by everyone that has used the cheat. Blizzard can't sue 100 or 1000 or 10,000 people so they are going after the developer. Copyright is a huge chunk of law. WAAAY beyond the simply act of copying some
you can also set your strike craft to rally at a point in the grav well. i usually put mine right where the enemy jumps in so the fire almost immeaditly. as long as the ai senses that it is over powered it will run. draw the ai into your static defenses then send a part of your fleet a different way to out flak the ai's fleets. send your fleet to your planet and start chasing. eventaully they will run into the other part of your fleet. you should be able to inflict more dama
also note hf, that most people that play in sp dont really pick one or the other. i will choose my fleet dynamicly depending on what is needed most at that time. how boring would every game be if i always chose X race and Y ship class. snoozer.
