interesting. thanks for moving on a change. i played over the weekend to see what the fuss has been about. every thing was going fairly well until i missed a couple of bumps on the pirate bounty. next thing i know the pirates had wiped out a well defended planet plus my entire fleet. each ship in their fleet had the stats of a mini capital ship. it took maybe 30 minutes of fleet building and rallying to reposition my self to retake the planet. intel

you should post a link to this mod on the impulse forum as well. so many peole there want this and may not seeing this post since they dont read the sins forums.
sorry it wasnt as fast as i hoped. got sins installed this morning on the netbook. i wsa able to see the buttons needed on the main menu screens and in once the game started. great work! i have an acer aspire one. its one of the older models with the 120 GB drive. 1gb ram. i knocked the effets settings down to almost nothing at initial performace on a small map was smooth. i can only image newer and faster netbooks will perform even better.</p
ah man! excellent! i will download and try this out tonight.[e digicons][/e]
i full support the idea for random events. but please do not push a dialog screen to tell me about it. just have the computer say something and show it in the message log. similar to what it does when alligence is low on a planet.
Also i think its rather pointless attempting to shelter children from such things, what do you think happens at school? Swearing, Racism, Swearing, Sexism, Racism then a little more swearing. Seriously what do you think was on everyones mouth when GTA4 was released however long ago? GTA4 ofcourse. You know what happens inclass on occasion when people go to a pod (computer pd, has computers in it.) Soemone gets some porn up and every
indeed. it makes the marza captain seem like he was found living in a ditch before being pressed into service. i cant remember i put my fix in this thread. i simply copied one of the other sounds over the less than tasteful sound. took all of 2 seconds.
Never posted but I have noticed. It is funny though I dont know about the cheat. I just used normal zoom feature
i think the "cheat" was actually zooming into the planet, then manually moving the camera closer. [e digicons];)[/e]
here is a suggestion for a couple new techs and a new ability for nearly worthless flak frigate. allow the flak to target projectiles from the super weapons like the novalift. sufficient flaks (10, 20, ?) could stop the weapon entirely protecting the planet. obviously, there would need to be a tech to get the upgrade. and a tech another to detect the incoming weapon. detection at maybe 5 seconds out or something with upgrades to 10 or 15 sec
id say no. stardock should NOT have a pc for sale. SD PLEASE OH PLEASE dont waste money in to the evil BTO hardware pit! (i know you wont) now, maybe thru impulse they sell software that is "certified with impulse" or something which would indicate that the apps all run happy with each other. as for hardware, it would be cheaper and more effective for SD to again "certify" a wide range of hardware and then sell off the used goods through impulse or w
i know the specs were tweeked on this update. but the threshold is too close. the tec scout slows to a stop inside the detection range. thus the scout sees the mine, but then gets killed soon after when the mine turns on the scout that should be out of range. the only way to clean the advent mine field is to spam scouts into the mines losing the scouts in the process.
the moon premise has been well discussed, but here comes another post on it... have the moon outside the grav well of the planet, but not connected with a phase lane. so the fleet has to move under regular power to the moon. mmmm
are you vasari and setting mines to lay automatically?
latest version of sins? which map? are there still trade ports in your empire? any error when the game shut down?
what version of sins do you have?
right click the game in impulse and use the archive feature. i havent done it before but i know its possible to move the install around.
or not change anything and build fighters and flak to defend your fleet. [e digicons]^_^[/e] besides stardock doesnt need to be messing with Ironclad's baby.
a cap that has structure attack abilities like the new crusiers. combining that into a marauder type would be cool. limited mine deployment and other techs to disrupt operations would be pretty cool. maybe someone is already working on adding this, maybe ironclad can add a new cap later to entrenchment. have fun discussing and dropping in your own ideas. marauder class cap. flak basic laser-ish guns structure missiles up to 2 squadrons of
i havent read all the posts, but how about a new Sensor Array civ structure. it gives structure and ship data for adjancent planets. it could be teched up by allowing the structure with intel on the neighbor's buildings, next level would include info on ships.
im having the same issue. i also tried forcing the screen res in the user settings file. it didnt help. window mode doesnt help either. so far the only answer i can see is that the app cannot scale below 768 px hieghts.
any other ideas? [e digicons]:smitten:[/e]
i guess a moderator should move this post now. the original topic was already answered and now its digressed into an opinion thread.
windowed mode doesnt help. 1024x600 is the max res of my netbook (as well as most netbooks). since im home sick for a week in bed, i was hoping to burn my time away in SINS. in game, the screen res selection is empty. my guess is that its not going to work, but i thought i would ask around before giving up.
