As far as I know, you can pause in any RTS, including Sins. I've done that multiple times back when I was really bad at the game, so yes, you can. I don't recommend doing that when you're playing with others though.

Laughs @ "will not be fun" I don't care if it crashes my computer and is the worst thing to happen to the world since the Nazis. I MUST PLAY IT.
Actually, even if there was a peaceful solution, the affected player would still end up paying monetary damages in what they give the pirates for them to not attack.
And back to the "IC isn't saying anything!" complaining (not saying it's unwarranted though, because it completely is). On topic, all we know is that there will be two more, and the next one (we still don't even know it's name) will be mainly non-combat. And that's it!
I'd think they should wait until all three packs are released before a GOTY edition.
Agreed, I will not comment on how much I loved your post, however, because I have no time. Or did I? :P
@Mooster I've taken my Sins disc, which I got through Impulse, and installed it on one of my comps that doesn't get internet (it's broken, but a laptop is still more portable than a desktop). Works fine on my other comp. Same thing goes for Demigod, which I also ordered through Impulse. And finally, maybe I want the concept art, manual, soundtrack, or back up disc. There are many reasons for wanting a box, but that isn't the point of this thread.

He will outproduce you and will have ships rolling off the line faster than you could possibly hope to do, and its like being invaded by the Chinese, the wall of soldiers will never stop. Simply put, they will make more ships than you, they will make ships faster than you, and their ships will be upgrade
Maybe in the AI's mind I was his enemy, but we still couldn't attack each other. Another interesting note is that you can't get acheivements after you win the game. I tried to get the full fleet one, but it didn't give me the acheivement when I did. Makes me sad, cuz I could have done that before I won the game too. Oh well...
How's GWYDN? Back on topic, you can watch the original cinematic by just turning cinematics on in the options if that matters to anyone. The red button scene seems cool too though.
Didn't attack, just threatened. And then moved to the next one and did the same thing.

Once you buy it, which is secure..., it will show up in the download section of the program, once you downloaded it, you can start playing it. And you don't need internet connection to play Sins so you don't have to connect to Impulse to play it. And as for LAN, as long as you download it from yo
Although I've already posted a few ideas the one thing that you guys got me thinking about that I want most is for it to not be so easy to ally with everyone to take down only one empire. (No that wasn't a run on)
About the mind control thing. Not everyone is 100% assimilated. People have a thing called free will that is extremely hard to fully repress. If everyone was completely assimilated the need for culture in friendly planets wouldn't be there.

Good find! [e digicons]1*[/e] for you! Edit: Actually, could you make a post real quick? It doesn't let me (or I can't find the option) give you karma on the OP. Edit edit: Nvm, found it.
Just recently owned in a 2v2 with all computers, on locked teams. After the last computer surrendered I kept playing because I loved watching my almost maxed out fleet totally destroy their empire. At the end, when I'm maxing out my fleet to take on the pirate base (I knew I had enough, but I wanted to see a maxed fleet in action), my ally attacks it before I'm ready, and then I colonize. Now that every colonizable planet belongs to us he randomly sends all of his ships to one of my planets,
A lot of the things you're complaining about are what make the races unique. Giving the Vasari a structure buster or the ability to lay mines outside of their own planets to the TEC would be going against what the devs deliberately set up. Suggestions should be less like, Zerglings are the weakest starting unit and need to be buffed, and more like, Zerglings are proportionately weaker than the other starting units in their current state and should spawn faster. (using StarCraft a
@guywhowritesgoodstoriesandplaysfungames You can watch the movie in entrenchment, just turn cinematics on. @Darvin3 Totally agreed with the theme song, wish there was some way we could change that, but I don't think mods work on the menu.
Please explain how what Anakin did was good? And I think that's a good idea for an optional rule, but I always fight to the last man, so you won't see me playing like that.

Those pins should last you about a year if you play as much as you talk like you do. (that was not advertising at all, just stating the facts ) Just a point outside of the rest of the discussion: He doesn't want to play The World E
I've been seeing a lot of fleet strategies and fleet talk on these forums. The one time I did see something nonviolent (culture) being talked about one person described it as the most boring way to lose and the one that requires the least amount of effort. I wondered how you guys deal with your enemy trying to go super econ or super culture. Do you counter with a strategy similar to theirs, such as strategically destroying trade bases to dismantle trade routes with the Vasari superwea

[/quote] Not just upkeep, but your entire budget in general. If you're playing on a huge map and someone comes with the said ultimate army it means you can attack their weakly defended planets (defenses being relative to how much game time has passed). That army doesn't just take upkeep, it also
