Since you are playing as TEC on a small map, you could try the sova rush. Build as sova carrier as your first cap and give it the embargo ability that steals income. Move that and a small fleet of scouts and lfs to the AI's HW, steal their income and make sure to use this time to capture the neutrals with a colonizer frigate. Also, make sure that you do this VERY quickly, the sova is not a heavy combat ship and will die rather quickly against most other caps <

Haha, no thanks bethesda, i will take a free copy of the Elder Scrolls 5 though [e digicons][/e]
Unlocked teams (especially with multiple hard or unfair AIs) is usually an exercise in frustration, it ends up in a stalemate with the AI attacking on multiple threats and not allowing time for a counterattack before the next wave... A beefier diplomacy system would be nice, but i doubt the AI would know how to use it since it hasn't even figured out the combat yet
It is pretty funny to watch an AI win the game for you though, even if it has a massive advantage in number and strength of ships it will repeatedly beat its head against the same unimaginably fortified world until it has nothing left. It is almost sad, all the advancements in technology and thats the best we can do...
Being able to switch my super-power so when the add kicks in i don't regret picking one [e digicons]:dog:[/e]

Unfortunately it sounds like google is pitching this OS at those people who don't care about such things, so I doubt it will prove any real competition to MS - my only hope is it acts as a small incentive for them to improve on windows more than they otherwise would. Google already knows everything you do online, who in their right mind would want to give them total control over their pc? Windows will more than likely remain dominant for the fore-seeable future, DirectX means it dominantes the games market and the sheer size of its install base means windows won't even flinch at this "threat"
If your sim speed is low in demigod, it points to the processor, but do not overlook the mobo. I am not very familiar with your motherboard, but getting a newer one with faster pci-e slots may boost performance enough. Also, i would suggest getting a core 2 quad processor if you can afford it and your motherboard supports them. I have my overclocked from 2.6 to 3.3 ghz on an air cooler and it runs fine and still does not produce excessive heat. Heres a test for your system: turn the s
The way i see it, Directx11 is more of a sales gimmick than anything, dx10 still hasn't shown any significant improvement over dx9 (except robbing performance) The 380 does look awesome, wonder if it will have triple sli support, that would be one monster gaming rig....
Thanks blackcurtain, I know they both have drawbacks, just trying to figure out which was better since there is a lot of missed information on the topic. And why would i need to go to the OCZ forums when whenever i have a hardware question you magically pop up and answer it? haha, remember the original mobo upgrade post?
Get a better mobo. 790i = gay
Thank you, thats helpful. Personally, having owned an x38 and x48, i like it a lot better. It does much better with overclocking and it hasnt held back my core 2 quad yet, unlike the x48. Tell me kronik, what mobo do you have?
It requires a clean install though, right? It would be nice to save 100 bucks though... Is there really a difference between the pro and home premium versions for a gamer who just wants the higher RAM cap by going 64bit? If you purchase the upgrade, you will not have to do a clean install. I'm not sure if a clean install will be possible from the upgrade disks or if you will just be able to use your XP/Vista disk for ver
I meant by "problems" that i have seen mobos with all RAM slots used not clocking the RAM quite as high as with only 2 slots used. But i have also heard that 2 gig sticks do not overclock as well as 1 gig sticks do. I was just wondering which is the least drag on clock speed. Haha and you were right, i am a total performance whore [e digicons]:dur:[/e]
I think this is great, once nvidia releases the 380, get a 290 for 50 bucks less [e digicons][/e]
I am currently considering upgrading to 64 bit windows 7 exclusively for the higher RAM cap. I currently have 2 gigs of RAM in dual 1 gig sticks (DDR3) running at 1666mhz. I want at least 4 gigs for 64 bit win 7 or the upgrade really isnt worth it. And i've heard that motherboards can have problems with all of the RAM slots occupied. So heres the question: is it better to get dual 2 gig sticks and find another place for the 1 gig stick, or to get 2 additional 1 gig sticks and use all

Ok, updated BIOS and everything is great now, thanks guys [e digicons][/e]
Ok, everything is ironed out now, except for one thing and its picky. In the BIOS the option to set FSB and RAM frequency is blanked out, my RAM is listed as "overclocker's RAM" on the website and it seems odd that i can adjust the CPU multiplier, but not set the FSB. But It's a small thing since everything runs fine on normal settings
ok, got the board and RAM, put it in, everything seems fine, except on startup during POST, i get an Floppy Disks Failed error, it seems to run fine if i tell it to continue past this error, but does anyone know what it means? and my q6700 seems to be running fairly hot, even for a quad (67 degrees c on idle) with my arctic cooling freezer 7 pro, any ideas?
The idea of socialism is an ideal situation, it has no grounding in reality. It is impossible to make everyone equal, and centralizing economic descisions is asking for a dictatorship. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, if an administration is given control over the economy, they could stay in power indefinently by creating an economic crisis and claiming the country is too unstable for an election. Capitalism is individual, you get what you earn. In socialism, you get what others belie
When i referred to earth as a zero-sum planet, i was more getting at the distribution of resources, money means nothing by itself. The problem is that most people look at starving populations with pity, as objects to help, to clean, to polish, and show off to the world as a trophy of your own altruism. Remember that that same logic is the reason africa is how it is today, european imperialists thought they would "help" the "uncivilised natives who could not help themselves" do you not realize
If any of you have read George Orwell's works, then you know that stable socialism is an unattainable goal that always leads to a corrupt dictatorship. In a capitalist environment, individuals are driven by there own volition and succeed depending on their own abilities, the problem arises when you consider that there is a finite amount of resources being divided between more and more people, Earth is a zero-sum planet, some must fall so others can rise. This is how things have been since the
Thanks blackcurtain, i've decided to go with the EVGA board and a slightly different version of the ram (with a heatsink instead of without) and i have experimented with overclocking, but im sure that for the games i run, supcom, sins, bioshock, mass effect, which all run fairly well on my system now, i won't need to overclock that much. Mobos and RAM is precisely where my knowledge of computers stops, everything else i've replaced and upgraded, thanks for the help +2 [e digicons
