Maybe some game devolopers think that harder is more challenge and therefore more fun. I like pirates, when they are not super powered. How about add more pirate ships to make them more versatile? Like ships tha can hijack frigates, or ships that can slow or stun other ships. Ships that can cloak?

Yes I wanted pirates to be upgraded a bit but not turning into Super Saiyan. I was playing a game and fully upgraded all my military. I merely messed up on one bid late game. I think AI put like 250 credit on me or something like that. Pirates showed up with 40+ ships on one of my gravity well. I like C&C 3 when I first got it. It wasn't great but it lasted about two weeks. What I regret was King's Bounty the Legend. I played like two days and got really bored.

Lack of understanding? I have BS in Biology and I spend many years in many scientific fields (such as chemistry and related science). How many of you have at least a BS in Biology? If I lack understanding of Evolution it is because when I was undergrad they just tried to indoctrinate us with thier view instead of present us with real science.
