Well, I am utterly astonished Good Sir Froglegs tries to evade the altogether legitimate, if perhaps not justified, protest from the OP. It is quite clear that the OP means he bought a game *made* by Stardock. A good game, if you ask me. He would like some support and you, most likely, would generate some goodwill if he got it. If I buy a 2nd hand Mercedes, I will still be able to get parts. I doubt Mercedes would disown their model just because it changed...feet ;) Yo

Annatar, Again, I offer a solution. Again, you state the status quo without further thought of advancement/improvement ('And the other guy can, too' simply means you do not trust the original owner to de-install...and anyway again the solution is simple; check Coe's comments). You have been very helpful for many people but you should realize that this time, all you offer is an insult. Desist, please. You are not furthering the issue. And I can only be hurt by friends (
So ah, Seabass, That was a fine piece of info you gave and I like that you did it. Now then...why can he/we drive a 2nd hand car and get it up to par (is Generalwagen getting any extra money from the sale? - nope; but pretty sure $hell is, later on ;) ) but not a piece of software? I think, Seabass, you ('Docko) have a right to charge him for updating your/his software. Once. That will generate a bit of income for you (more than BMyota ever will...except for spar
Hi all, Finnek, At the basic level, I sympathize. Without going into all the problems-with-Impulse denial stuff: the bill of rights (I admire the thought but do not value the actual thing enough to cap the words :p) and in fact the whole industry should, perhaps, let people know what right a second-hand copy of the game grants them? If I buy a 2nd hand car, the roads are still open - but in the country I live in I will need to make sure about insurance and safety of th
Hi all, Avan: I am not sure how big or long your scenario was/is but I have once (and once only; at the start of my Sins 'career') come to the point where the whole game came to a grinding halt (that is to say, took me 2 hours for each new planet etc.) in the 'endgame'. I had hundreds of thousands of credits I could not really use (this I hope will change with expansions & mods) and not yet figured out the many horrible things you can do to your enemies to expedite things (althoug
Hi all, #10) Basically an 'extension' of what is under #1, but an essential point for making combat more purposeful, controllable, and logical I think: add an Attack Focus option to whatever selection of ships you have made. So if I 'Select all Cap ships' (another setting, yes hmm) I should be able to tell them to 'Attack whatever has the highest damage output'. I should then for instance be able to 'Select all LRM frigs' and tell them to 'Shoot at whatever enemy is healing
Hi all, Andrew, > In the mean time, downgrade to the last version of Flash 9 and the buttons should work again. You mean to the version that will not even allow me to *get* to the buttons? Thanks but...no thanks ;). Andrew I like it that you keep working on this issue. Mind you I think it should have been fixed a long time ago because no matter how you turn it, something exceedingly basic does not function correctly and I for one have never had this problem; I fear
Hi all, new one, #13) At the end of an MP game just now, checking the Stats, 'User Actions' (I think it's under Empire) showed as some vertical lines shooting straight out of the diagram-window into the black of the screen and after that, probably into the sky (I think I saw them hit Saturn's rings ;) ). It is not restricted to my resolution; friend had same thing on smaller monitor. Good luck, Lucas aka Sinful
Righto, Progress: under IE7 Flash did (first time; tried before without effect) Update. I no longer get the 'did not initiate properly' warning in IE7. I still get it in FF 3.01 though. However, the three '+ Upload File' buttons do nothing zip zilch nada as far as I can see. I am patient but I have waited for a good while and nothing seems to initiate. So...next step in this GAS*, Andrew? Any notions? *Great Avatar Soap, yes? ;) No, not to
Hi all, Shadowhal, #6) User maps good notion but I am (perhaps wrongfully?) assuming they won't work with beta's? Certainly something for later...but it does not quite do the job. My main issue is that if the game has no campaign, it should at least have a good map generator (not editor) to allow for diversity. I can only determine size, # of player & pirate toggle right now? I really think it should allow for *much* more liberty. Like a random (0 to 70 at first) setting f
Concerning point #1: in retrospect I suspect this improvement will not so much reduce the MP tactic of going for Player Capships. I think it will do even better: make Caps, without overpowering them, so much more useful and fun that peeps will start building them again in MP. At least that is one more consideration I would keep in the back of my mind, if I were a 'Dockie :) Lucas aka Sinful
Addition to point #7: if you allow us to put our Empire's THEME (logo) on a ship (and maybe colors?) you will make the whole 'Cinematic mode' much more feasible to use. Lucas aka Sinful
Hi all, I know there are other lists of suggestions but these I have not seen (maybe missed; in which case feel free to ignore superfluous parts). Do please add your own, but try to give some reasoning behind it. Merely stating ‘I want new ships types’ or ‘improve the sounds’ is not adding anything 8-).
Hi all, two more issues I found. Using continued numbering (please do same in refs but I much prefer you to add issues, not argue about them - let Stardock make up their own mind...): 11) In multi-slayer, the Pause no longer functions. If this is by mistake, can stop reading here (on point 11). If it is on purpose, I respectfully suggest you put it back in as an option, at the very least, because my friends all agree it is unlikely to the point of impossible to not take a bio
Hey all, Oh if it's about schedules, I'll party :) (Quote) A comment on schedules: Ok, how long will it take? For each manager involved in initial meetings add one month. For each manager who says "data flow analysis" add another month. For each unique end-user type add one month. For each unknown software package to be employed add two months. &nbs
Hello, Quothe the 'Tar: > If you have more than one ally, it's possible that they might not be allied with each other and that's why you don't get the victory screen? Well, that is quite possible, but either way (whether they are allied or not), one cannot currently determine why the Victory is not given so it should either be an addendum (epxlaining how this defaults) or, more logical in my view, an Option where you decide whose part you will be on in the continuin
Hi all, Adding one issue, not making new post since this is MOTS. Using number only as ref. help. 10) If I am not mistaken, an 'allied success' (nothing left but allies in a game) should result in Victory? I have played all scenarios (and many randoms but that's beside the point...) at least once up until 'Large'. Have many times won a game with - either locked or not; in the following case it was unlocked - some (AI; non-human that is) Allies. However in 'Large Single' random
Aloha, Samsung SyncMaster 305t+ (30") at 2560x1600x32 (it's really for professional writing use; 3 pages at once is rather handy). Cute for games though, if your graphics adapter can handle it (more pixels!). Umm...'size matters'? ;) Checking for dead pixel when you buy is good fun though: checking pixel 4 million 300 thousand and 2, 4 million 300 thousand and 3, 4...*ring* Oh hi...wropng number?...no prob have a nice...ARGHGHGH'...Checking pixel 1, pixel 2, pi
Well, When 3 out of the 7 peeps I got to be Sinners stopped playing it and the other 4 have not contacted me *once* for over 3 weeks for a game, and the issue at heart was Impulse, it means 7 out of 8 no matter which way you turn it. I doubt more than 2 of them - excluding myself btw; for now - will get 'Entrenchment' or anything else if Impulse stays. I am never - correction: rarely suprised by unintelligent decisions it may well be they keep it this way. That is their prerog
Aloha, Annatar: I did not say 'standalone' - I mean an auto-update system, plain and simple. Easy enough to implement; every single MMORPG (have tested/played 40+) does it (out of need, of course). Experience and logic tell me Stardock will not keep Impulse as a no-choice option if enough people protest - not unless they want to be known as 'ignoring the community'. It does not, of course, make them 'bad people' to invent Impulse. It would however give them a bad reputation to
Hi all, I mistyped the title of the game, should be 'Empire' not 'Universe'. Did not dare try 'edit' :p. Jetheren: good one I sit corrected on point 5; I do now recall the manual said that was the way to indirectly harass an ally. I guess it is just the 'bounty' word that I relate to Pirates. Please feel free to Ignore #5. Shadow, and others: I think everyone will have their own preferences when it comes to vocal feedback. Atomic's Close Combat series is quite good (on
Hi all, Ginger: I also prefer co-op play in a game like Sins; feel free to PM me we can see if we can get a game started some time. You might want to seriously look into 1) updating the game (that does have repercussions you should be clear on!) to 1.095 & 2) making a point of trying to get a few Achievements done every time you play the AI solo. They serve as a kind of 'handicaps' and will make you a versatile (and better) player :) Good luck, Lucas aka Si
Hi all, Short note: I never, ever intend to flame or merely critisize. I offer the list here to enable Stardock to make their game even better than it is. I will not react to any type of pointless argument and respectfully ask that you only add what is useful to the well-being of the game Sins of a Solar Universe. Please do add any and all bugs or problems you encounter. Problems then. 1) Too many warnings; at some point in anything over a medium-si
Hmm, Andrew just to inform you: copying that Sig into the Quick Reply box does *not* show the MS Word formatting info (only shows up after processing). Maybe you might want to change that? Typically another 'no biggie' though...hopefully not too much off-topic. Lucas aka Sinful
Arggghghgh ok apparently I *should* have pasted that in Notepad first to get rid of all the formatting - any ETA on EDIT functionality? - sorry though, Lucas.
