I'm constantly balancing my fleet to deal with my opponents balance. I believe thats what everyone wanted. I am seeing more heavy entrenched battles rather than numerous LRF overruns you would usually see. LF's and flak seem stronger.

Good question. I only play TEC and I would say culture is critical, but not early. I expand really really fast using Sova Akan combo, and instead of researching trade , I invest in infrastructure. Once I find the chokes, I get repair bays and culture going on the planet or stroid before I fleet and trade up. This is a 1v1 scenario, for in team play culture doesnt hurt u as much because your empire is not spread as far. Culture is also good when u breach a players empire

I am a TEC player who starts out with 2 caps (Akan + Sova) then add two more Sovas and two Dunovs. I have to say I've noticed the change and I love it. I've won games with just using capital ships alone. I will say however anything over 6 is rediculous because of the price on taxation.
Ive seen a vasari player use mines offensively. Every time i would engage him mines would spread out all around his cap followed by repair cloud. Never seen anyone do that before.

Whats the typical late TEC fleet? I usually come out with 1 akkan, 3 sovas, 2 dunov, 30 kodiaks, 30 bots, 20 flak, with a couple stacks of cobalts moving ahead of me. Not a fan of LRF or bombers.
Fighters that block out the sun. Gaurdians, Bombers, and Illums cant touch them.

From what it looks like Repulse is here to stay. I'd rather have an ability to beat repulse than just take it out. If sabotage reactor truly is the only counter, thats retarded. I had 20 cobalts running towards them and the illums just shot them down. As I understand bombers are anti-heavy, so we will see how effective they are tomorrow morning. At least we know why the TEC exiled these freaks....seriously. Death to the Unity.
Alright, I just got done playing 1v1 against an advent player. After a few skirmishes it ended up being his prog and 2 halc's vrs my akan, 2 sovas, and 1 LEVEL SIX DUNOV. I was basically unapproachable till he massed bombers illums and guardians and just split through my fleet with repulse and took out one cap at a time starting with my akan. I had bots, kodiaks and fighters up the ying yang including a few cielos, but that means nothing when there on either side of each other.
can we get an updated version?
