I'd like to point out that that is not an acceptable fix by any means. Iron Clad has a responsibility to make sure that their game runs in every operating system listed on the game box. If they want to market their game to Windows x64 users, then it has to work. I also sent in to Stardock support about this issue and got the same old work around that they've given most everybody else. It's been more than 6 months since I have had this problem and there is still no patc

If you load from one person's save file, then you will be playing with a synced game. But chances are it will become unsynced again.
Yup, thanks.
Would you care to outline what we should tell support so that we can be as helpful as possible? It seems like the issue should be well known by now. It seems to happen on all Windows 7 Ultimate x64 operating systems...
I don't need to restart, but it does like to go to a black screen which forces me to go to the task manager... tisk tisk...
This is happening to me too. Windows 7 Ultimate x64 + Sins Diplomacy Large Maps. If the game is exceeding allocated memory space, then iron clad has a big problem to fix.
Isn't the Envoy just a mobile embassy?
Sins is not multicore becuase multicore processors were not standard (Not even for high-end gaming machines) when the engine was made.
Have you ever looked at the resource monitor while the game is running? Sins is running one process while utilizing 19 some threads. The threads are all running on the same CPU core though. They avoided multicore support because it complicates some of the algoirthms the game uses. When
Sins is multithreaded, but the process limits execution to only one core. If you have another core, then it will run texture loading on that core. However, late game you'll see 100% effort on core 1 and basically 1% effort on core 2. I suspect they designed the game this way because it should work with all cpu architectures and because programming for multiple processors is difficult when different teams of threads depend on information that they are computing. If not
Well, it would really help performance wise if they enabled Sins to take advantage of multiple cpu's. The game would not slow to a trickle on large maps.
I completely agree with Will the Great. 200,000 credits is a lot, and if you have that much then you can support a fleet that will win anyway. But frankly, caping the limit would be a lame move. It might be ok, however, to make it a game option, "Max Pirate Fleet Size". Then have the options be "Small" "Medium" "Large" "Massive" "Unlimited". This way people with bad computers can stop complaining if their game gets dominated by pirates. Or option number t
You can still only offer each pact once... I'd personally like to see a group of people as allies benefit from the pact. For each allie added to a pact, the overall percentage gain would decrease. And, I'd like the pacts to maybe be shown in a different screen too. I find it annoying to have to click so many buttons to get to the pact info and having to do that for every player. Can't there be a way to offer pacts through the diplomatic tree? Or at least so
I'm pretty stoked for this update!
Just thought that I'd update the thread. So far since the last update, I haven't experienced any similar minidumps. I also still don't know where the dump files are located. I had no problem finding them in the entrenchment beta, so any help here would be appreciated, thanks.
Hmmm, now I can't seem to find the file...
Every time I offer a mission to a computer player I get a mini dump. I'm sure you're very aware of this by now. But if you are not, I would be happy to send the minidump files to you, Ironclad.
Just make sure you check "show pre-release versions" in impulse.
So... These are mercenaries?!
Interesting idea... But do you really want to know what they're saying?!?!
I think we aut to have a community vote on this issue. Pirates cheat and steal, that's what they do. So why would pirates just fruitlessly go to a planet to shoot stuff until they die? They should cause more havoc!
Awww.... I want more interesting pirates!
He is absolutely right. They should be treated like such. Though it's useful to use them as scouts.
Maybe it could be a sacrificial parley?
I'm sure that Ironclad deserves the short break they're getting right now. I mean they already did A LOT of work just getting the beta to where it is now. Plus who knows what other cool games they could be developing as we speak?!?!
It's kind of like the reapers from Mass Effect... Your fleet is traveling into dark space before you wipe out all life in the galaxy. [e digicons]8C[/e]
