So... it's not an RTS at all. There's no time-pressure, no "strategic elements" (ie: resource management). Just units shooting at each other. It's OK for you to like it, but that doesn't mean that there's something wrong with real RTS's. Without the time pressure of having 5 things to do and the time to do 2 of them, it just isn't an RTS. It's a TBS that happens to not be turn-based. Or, to put it another way, if the game gives you time to micro everything perfect
Knowing IC, they're going to try and make sure that the system specs stay about the same. Notice that there were a bunch of optimizations listed in the change log, some of which were actually done to vanilla Sins still - so give it a shot before you dismiss it. I haven't had a chance to, myself. The numbers of mines should also drop considerably, as the AI is much better with resource usage and shouldn't spam them everywhere. <br

Well, My post was not 100% directed at you. Ive made many of a post in different topics all with the same underlining theme. All, I was trying to say is IC will balance it. It was only beta 1 at the time of my post and beta 2 was on it way out. And yes, your right we who do like mines need to speak out. Im still afraid they might get the nerf axe or ban hammer. Which would be a shame. As we see from this lastest beta that IC is still on our side with a good change to mines and with the scout

Well, I was proving a point too. That your example is how to use ALL of your your tools defence wise to create great defence. We who dont complain have figured this out awhile ago. Most people want starbases to be build and forget. But thats not how it works. They should be build and forget IF you give them support I.E. weapon platformsm hangers, etc etc etc. Then where the starbase cant defend you mine it. As I said in another post, Its a choice the attacker has. Fight the
If I was to defend a planet with billions of people, I would set up a starbase in the west, mine the crap out of the the other directions, set up many gun emplacements throughout the gravity well, place multiple hanger defenses to fill the area with fighters and bombers, and laugh when someone is foolish enough to try an invasion.
Wow, a perfect idea. Why hasn't anyone else thought of this.....OH WAIT, we have! We can add another great thinker to our grou

Wow, I so forgot about this post till now. Anywho, to reply to your reply... Well, I add the extra wormholes to the other stars so you could expand and gather more resources. The first version I had the stars connected, but I found it difficult to reach the higher levels of tech with the lack of logistical slots. I thought about adding more planets to each players starting area. But I found that to encourage major turtle syndrome. And with the random phase lanes and such it was h
