They made band-aid changes in the right direction. I "Feel" that the strip the core is changed to give less resources. Honestly, the amount of work I put in at my company when we're 1month away from migrating the entire workforce to a new software suite is so rough I barely have time for my regular duties. You can 64bit patch the exe, to allow it to use more than the allotted 2gb of ram. ( www.ntcore.com ) Although I have yet to see the game acquire memory usage numbers it did in older days. I generally see 800-1gb used now.

I just wish I didn't have to wait until launch day to get the desync fix. Hell if only there was a workaround. I've tried lowering/offing every graphical setting, small fleet sizes, normal speeds on everything, in every damn case I desync

I'm running a Phenom II 955 (@3.7ghz) with a 9800GTX+ (stock speed so same as yours, it just runs a little cooler) with 4gb of ddr2 ram. I don't get the slowdown you explained, and I just got out of an 8hour long game with 8 AI's on the huge multi random map. (Not the largest, but the 2nd largest multi system map) I did get some chop when I zoomed in on the final battle, my max fleet cap vs their max fleet cap battle, but it only lowered from typical 55-60fps down

I also noticed this. In my 8way FFA with 3 galaxies, it was me + 3 in my system, 2 in another system, and 2 in the final system. After I cleaned out my system (thanks Titan!) I went to the second system and cleaned them out as well. By the time I entered the third system, my titan was 5, and the winning AI in this system had a lvl 8. What I don't quite get is, how is mine, after defeating 5 AI's, lower level then the one in that final system who had only been fighting

When I first bought Sins (2008? 2009?) I seem to recall hearing that we could share the game with our friends locally, and all play over lan and that this was not frowned upon. I understand only 1 could logon to the world server, but I believe the statement clarified we could still (officially endorsed) play with 4 people off 1 licensed copy. Since I cannot find said post anymore, I want to know if this is/was ever allowed / endorsed. If so is it still endorsed? </
