whilst i agree that a campaign would be really really really cool, i cannot see how it could actually be implemented. i mean, most small games take two or three hours to play depending on map and other players. a campaign of linked maps would take forever. that may be a good thing for some, but still. Perhaps instead of a cmapaign they should create a number of scenarios. For example, the first Advent arrival, or the TEC's last stand in an overrun sector. games and maps where

it seems to me that every race has its own unique method and path to victory also it seems that each race is as perfectly balanced as possible so the only thing that determines victory between different races is the player's tactics, strategy and sheer dumb luc in some cases Am i alone in thinking this is a very good thing? this is EXACTLY what it should be like. yes, TEC have the strongest economyand armour and hulls, yes the Advent have the most powerful shields and
Irational fear is right. phase stabiliser nodes and their free fleet upgrade is fantastic for small maps with relativly few resources, and is fantastic for large maps to explain the small maps thing: building a phase stabiliser node at, say, ten planets and doing the upgrade costs FAR less than the ships you acquire from the Returning Armada ability. On large maps having a phase stabilisor node on every planet (as i do all the time) is great. while it uses up some tactical slo
thank you very much lich1989 i have since copied the game folder from my (just useable) laptop to my (kick ass for gaming) Pc and it works perfectly Hooray now i can play SINS properly again thank you very much inded! i am in your debt sir
Something else i would like to see is a way to allow edited .ENTITY files in multiplayer for LAN Because my friend and i play it every weekend and when i tried editing some of the capital ship files, it worked fine for me in single player, and, with the exact same files, worked fine for him in singleplayer, when we tried multiplayer it said we had different versions of the game files is there any way around this problem, o mighty developers?
i dont know, seems pretty similar to me Human race fighting a war against a (initially) vastly superior alien race, watching her colonies being wiped out, and fighting back desperatly, capturing enemy technology and turning it against them, even the use of nuclear weapons, missiles and autocannons. All SINS lacks from Halo is a space version of the Master Chief, i.e. something that owns just about everything when its fully trained oh, wait
ok, hit me with that again please lich1989 which folder? and does anyone else knows what he means by the "get a copy of the changes" part at the end??
hmm. if i cant have a update source other than Impulse, then i would like to see a way to transfer updates between two computers also i agree that upgraded starbases should give more XP than a basic one, perhaps +50 per upgrade i would also say that there should be a function on the map selection screen that tells you how many artifacts are present, because i once spent ages playing a random-huge-multi map, and i had every planet conquered and all of them 100% explored and i o
i bow to your wisdom concerning the Shield restore thing also, i must ask this: is there any way to download an update for SINS through Impulse and then transfer it to another PC????
is there any way to download an update through Impulse on one PC and transfer it to another, because i dont have an internet connection on the computer i play SINS on and im getting behind my mates who have it, so now i cant do LAN games cos they have the updatede version
an alternative source for the update, if you insist
how very poetic, almost biblical. i will admit i have been slightly overwhelmed with how quickly so many replies appeared for this post. suppose i should have known better. so far the general consensus seems to be tha tall 3 are balanced, with the only way to choose being your preferred style of play. this is exactly what a RTS game's different races should be. not like Homeworld 1 or 2 where there is very little between the two
a version of the update that is available from somewhere other than impulse would be great as for other things, i dont know. perhaps unerfing the Dunov shierld restore back to its v1.05 level. because now it is about 60% as good as it used to be and is only really useful when you get to level 3
i really really really really urgently need to know if there is any form of standalone update .EXE for v1.16 i cant get impulse to work atm so i cant download the update for SoaSE and as a result i cant play Entrenchment either NIGHTMARE! WHY cant Stardock just post a standalone .EXE instead of being stubborn??????
based omn the testimoials of people here, i will have to try playing as Advent, they sound a lot better than i initially thought they were
i will admit to being a complete noob as far as Advent are concerned please explain to me what these allure of unity/resource focus/induced reverence upgrades do (preferably the kind of explanation with large print and picture)
OK, i expect to pick up a LOT of flak for this, BUT i will freely admit that i prefer the TEC to the other races (I rarely play as Vasaari and i have never even finished a game as Advent) I favour the TEC because i like the look and feel of their ships, i think their capital ships are the best and i really love the strong economy you can build up quite easily (especially with the Trade Facilities on the Argonev, 6.5 credits per second each, great!), the strong economy and the reduce s
well, i have emailed Stardock support and got a reply with some suggestions, so i will give them a try this evening thank you all for your suggestions and help, it is very much sppreciated
there may well be an all cap mod if there isnt there SHOULD be one i wonder if you could set up tiny maps with pre given cap ship groups, so you can test configurations around without taking forever in games and costing huge amounts?
these arew some impressive combinations. i will definitly have rto try the combo with 11 Marza's ouch Other than the one in the OP, i have two other combos that work very well together: 6 Kol, 4 Sova, 2 Akkan, 2 Dunov and 2 Marza - this doesnt have so many missiles barrages BUT it does make up for it with a LOT of fighter/bomber support Or my other heavy hitting miz: 4 Kols for general purpose combat, 2 Akkans, 2 Dunovs and 8 Marza's that REALLY hurts if you ge
In Your Opinion, what is the best combination of capital ships, for a general fleet battle,, assuming resources no object, all 16 cap ships present and all ships at, say, level 6? Answers on a postcard please, no more than 5000 words Personally i am of the opinion that, for the TEC, 8 kols, 2 akkans, 2 dunovs and 4 Marza's is the best mix. at level 6 it gives you a very hard hitting and long lived fleet, and with the Flux Field from the Dunovs and the Missi
cleaning out old files and re installing Impulse has still not worked. i am now sharing Ashbrewster's opinion that it is my Internet expplorer that is busted any ideas how to solve it??
ill give it a try
my brain informed my of something rather significant this morning: impulse hasnt worked since i installed Service Pack 3 for XP Could THIS be the problem???
mooster, wrng thread i think Zubaz, thanks for the link but it still aint working, impulse doesnt need Flash player by any chance does it?
