I just started playing this mod yesterday and I have to say that it's quite fun. I'm especially impressed with some of the CIS ships specifically the munificent and the droid control ships. The imperial and victory SD's and the venator are especially nice.

You can take the Sins disk and install the game on as many computers as you want. Hundreds. thousands. Regardless of anyone's definition of copy protection that sure doesn't sound like this is the case with sins to me. How can any of you make the case that impulse is a DRM program when it's not restricting access to the game whatsoever but to the access of a patch? So what if you have to be legit to get an update? The game on the disk is what

Personally I think the small team at ironclad did an amazing job and frankly this is one of my favorite games. It must be double the satisfaction for the deveolpers since they made such a great product with 1/10 the size of some game development teams.

I've run into something similar. I will take a fleet and I will right click an attack order on a structure. Then i'll hold down shift and right click to que up each successive building I want the fleet to destroy. They get out of order often

I've tried searching everywhere I can think of and I still don't quite comprehend what the TEC's pervasive economy does. I've found a few threads here on the sins board but they didn't really quite answer it completely. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/321913 https://forums.sins
I don't know why they won't support less than 1024x768. That should be a very simple fix. Considering netbooks are quickly becoming popular, it would seem like a good business decision to support this. But who am I but a feeble consumer who bought *TWO* copies and can't use one of them because of lack of support.
Lack of support or lack of reading the system requirements? Simple fix? that's hill

I've had that happen as well. As a matter of fact this same friendly AI who kept threatening me also never researched long range jumps in a huge 4 star system game. I had to fight the rest of the galaxy alone because my ai said that he didn't have the technology to get to the locations I wanted him to attack. Basically his massive fleet kicked it at my home planet but continued to threaten me. It was funny.

Thanks a bunch Animage for the 1.1 conversion. I really enjoy the extra planets. This mod is right down my alley and will be the one for me indefinately. Gas giants are cool, but i never liked the rogue stars and their gravity wells on solar sins. I try to avoid graphical mods since on large and huge battles some mods make my system chug unbelievably. Try fighting on a wormhole on 7DS and you'll see. Still though i wanna try out bail's mod

Out of all of the mods i've been quite puzzled at to which one i really want to use. I have some questions about the mods are out there. I played 7DS on 1.05 a good amount but i'm looking for a mod to play vanilla sins but with the extra planets but not colonizable stars which is what i believe Solar Sins includes. The gravity well slowdown with these colonizable stars and the "bombing" of a star doesn't jive with me. Will this mod just give the 11 extra planets and th

I have avoided online play until now because i get absolutely destroyed within 30 minutes by multiple fleets. I was playing a 3v3 with two very seasoned teammates and the enemy bypassed their planets/fleets to take out mine specifically. Plus i had about 50,000 bounty placed on my head in the first opening 10 minutes somehow. After that i stopped playing online.

Since I started playing 1.1 i've noticed that the chugging frame rate while zoomed in to close battles has lessend quite a bit. I played a large and heavy twin empire scenario and it ran substantially faster and smoother even with very large fleet battles. Its a dramatic improvement. What did you guys do and does anyone else see an improvement in single player performance?

I have to agree. It definately seems like many of the most vocal appear on paper as playing unlicensed copies. It's also funny how people say they are forced to use impulse. Nobody is making you play the game or using impulse or even using your operating system. Nobody is forcing you to update your copy of Sins. Being as irate as some of these people are, it's counter productive. I for one think a bulk of these "i want a standalone patch"

e8400 on an asus p5n-d (750I) OC'd to 4 ghz. 4gb memory i've tried running sins on both a single 9800gtx+ and also with SLI and SLI doesn't help sins AT ALL. When i play sins my video card temps barely rise at all. On big maps once fleets are assembled the game slows down but it is still playable however i can't be zoomed in or else my system chugs to 10 fps or less. Heres my question. I don't mean to be out of line to the developers

When i heard about the 1.09 beta, i started up impulse. When i heard about 1.1, i started impulse. I've used it all for 10 minutes total and it did exactly what it's supposed to.

I just bought my first gaming computer in 7 years back this July. I didn't have any games and I had fond memories of imperium galactica 2 and master of orion and star control I and II and I wanted something similar. I looked up 4x games on wikipedia and came across solar empire and I bought it that day and I haven't gone back. It had great scores and i bought it no questions asked and it delivered. The music, the depth, the scenery all combine to make a solid g

I figure I would chime in but I've nothing but met expectations with impulse. It has worked reliably and has patched all my stardock games with no problems. I've been working tech support for nearly 15 years and I always hear about the things that go wrong but you guys at Stardock should know that i've had zero issues with impulse so kudos to you all.

I've noticed this too. I fired up a twin empire game and for the first time it was a solid 4v4 with each team on opposite sides of the map. YES!!! When i fired it up to 8x speed it appears to run quite a bit faster. Graphically speaking is appears that the game is running smoother and faster.
