This article goes into 5 main categories of hacking/cheating, you can arm yourself with that information so that you can precisely identify the techniques of the cheaters to more effectively provide the proof needed to ban them. One thing I can say hands down that if you are a cheater, the time to do it is now, the authorities will become more involved as people start hunting you down. Japan has started arresting video game hackers. Well deserved, I applaud the efforts of
We will not see a Sins2 until StarControl is released and done selling, Ironclad would not want the two of them competing for market space. So figure late 2018 at the earliest.
In the meantime, I plan to whore myself out to them as a source of free labor.
Titans and corvettes ruined a lot of the subtlety in rebellion because they outperform other pure power strategies. Sure it makes the game easier for noobs, but if you want sins 2 to have more replayability, than you really should allow for more subtlety. The developers of sins (Ironclad) focused on a MOBA, the business sense was that they wanted to diversify(though they should have followed Blizzard's model, IHMO). Also, teams get tired of making the same game over an
Hi Gibson, Sounds like you would fit in with the hardcore group, i'll friend you so you can easily see when 5v5's are going on. Happy Hunting! Carpetbomb/Sareth01 Also, Free For All (FFA) games are noob friendly, I've played a few where 2-3 noobs will gang up on me sneakily to take out a "pro". It's good fun, and a way that they can try learning without getting too horribly annihilated.
I just trained a new guy today, by the name of TyG, I hope he sticks around! Darvin3, just add me on steam, Carpetbomb. We just look to see who's online when we play other games, and if it seems like friends are on we get games going quick. It's a great way to adapt to the modern transient gamer lifestyle.
I agree with Goafan. Long-time players have serious reputations and a good match, where all players reach a point of actually getting a powerful fleet (where real skills start to show), is easily wrecked by a noob that doesn't know about how to defend themselves. Many games for noobs don't last long enough for them to get any rich experience, and it's frustrating for EVERYONE, not just the noob that fails early. So, I too recommend that you try to ask a veteran f
Happy holidays! Sins 2 all the way!!
Kickstarter Reboot!
Lifetime? Why not i've already invested enough hours into the game...
Very good suggestions. My dream sequel to Sins will be a blend of Distant Worlds with the Oxide engine powering the whole thing. As complex that Distant Worlds is, you can elect how much micro management you can handle. That pausable feature helps out as well!!!
Thanks G. I forgot to add, keeping sins micro management at balanced levels for the factions, while not letting the game reach the levels of Starcraft's
Hey all, Since they will have testing at some point, why not get the community involved? Post here so that we can get a mailing list together so that developers can use their forums to push the development of their game. Also, let's also build a wellspring of concentrated ideas to help show them what we want. Think of this as capturing the spark of a kickstarter. I for one, want to help test the game. Cheers, Sareth01/Carpetbomb
I'd also love to have a Sins 2. 1) Move away from an infinite economy model to a finite one (like it was in Sins beta at one point) so that attrition means something, will help with both spammy nature of the game and with deadlocks. 2) Somehow... make battles more decisive (#1 will help), it simply took too long for a large fleet to significantly hurt another large fleet. 3) Sli
Would have been fun to check it out, yet baby stroller needs took precedence today. How was it?
The project is in it's last phases, it's worth a glance if you haven't seen it already!
Hey all the project is in it's final days check it out if you haven't already, it's worth a glance!
I'll give it a go, after all I've "begged" for a job before on this site. [e digicons]:D[/e] Working for you guys would be my DREAM JOB! The crying smile emoticon is broken. -crying smile Application Sent!
Sins 2 as in rebellion with something new or only rebellion with better programming?
I think they need to improve the maps first and foremost. Better map generation, better resource balance in that generation, and adding some flashy new mechanics that both increase the depth of strategy and the games competitive edge in the modern market.
Hey all! It's been a while since I've posted, aside from that never ending Sins 2 thread (keep it up guys!). I hope you check out the Kickstarter I have ready to show you. It's really nerdy. Just. Like. Me. Remember, even a $1 donation is huge! Thank you! Thank You Scott!
____________Updated_____________ Here I go for phase 2.0 of the project. This time it's for a full 30 days and already it's making headway! Here is the new link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1898212818/tabletop-cartographer-huge-detailed-maps Hey all! I just launched my first kickstarter and it will b
Oh I can't wait for Sins + Oxide. I'm having a nerdgasm just thinking about it.
I like the metrics, a few issues though. Hummer you haven't really seen my (Carpetbomb's) endgame. I think I am as high up on your list in the first place because I come back cold after 2 months of not playing and I out manage fleetwise the game assets in my victory over you. I am sure you remember because you put that as my primary skillset. I can add a few things to my "profile": like I usually help my team win the game before there is an endga
Browncoats forever! +1 for mod idea...
Cool things ahead for the space genre, I can't wait to play it.
Wow what a lot of interest!
