ah well these tech's wouldn't cost you cash directly, they would be an event, not a cash dump. any ships created or lost would cost you, but then you are in control of their loss to some degree. also i just edited it again, to elaborate on implementation. haven't heard of vindictus, but i'll check it out. Also, the point of this tech improvement from the strategic aspect of the game is to reward a certain style of play and pro

Well the beauty of this idea is that you could use the achievement based tech side of the existing tech trees to expand the tech trees in a new and fun way while still retaining the feel and flavor of the original game. Also, the complexity wouldn't be overwhelming to new players, as the "prerequisite achievement" would always be event based and clearly labelled on any new tech. In essence, making the old feel new, and adding another tactical element to the game as well.&nbs
Achievements: NOT metagame, but specific only to that game which you play. A new game starts the achievement based tech all over again. Say you research a classic tech to colonize a volcanic planet. Then you actually colonize a volcanic planet. You then are able to research more techs that are related to the achievement. In this way you could limit a players tech not just by lab destruction, but by achievement prevention as well. Would be another interest
Yes, and the different planet types in the mods really do add a lot to the tactical layout of the game, and they just "feel right". An easy way to improve the random feature for online multiplayer as well.
Alpha centauri, which has no planets
nothing against you man, but alpha centauri COULD have planets. Our collection efforts are not nearly as definative as to provide us with a yes or no answer to this question. Will we have a better idea in the future? I honestly think that in our lifetimes (i'm 26) that we will see some amazing advances in astronomy. Also the ecliptic of the system lies skewed off from ours so any chance of actually seeing
check this out! http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/08/25/us-planet-diamond-idUSTRE77O69A20110825 Now all we need is a spaceship that can travel there in a few years or less so we can get all our girls some pretty shinies!!!! yahoos, they are all yahoos!! Take that debeers!! I wonder if this will influence the price of diamonds worldw
everyone who plays a lot of online multiplayer is getting better, and the difference of player skill is getting smaller as a whole, so the matches are becoming more competitive and interesting. Newbies entering into 5v5's upset the cart more then ever now, need to have two newbies on other teams as they are so far behind the curve. As for the details, small changes here and there but entrenchment still has had the biggest influence on multiplayer, diplomacy adds a few

$350 for a nice couch up on craigslist, that was what my girlfriend wanted to sell for it (as it was her couch). Considering it had a loveseat, a full couch and an island connecting the two, it was a bargain price(we don't smoke, or have animals, and it was in GREAT condition). After a week or so up on craigslist we got a buyer. The lady gave me her phone number via email and then I called her. She had a gravelly voice(probably a long time smoker) but seemed plea
I don't relish anyone's death, but i'll not worship the idea of a man I never knew. Hes a man, and most of apples success can be derived from the people that work there, not just the leader taking the credit. I find it funny how we are supposed to feel sad for a guy who would have fired us as an employee for so much as talking to him in an elevator. I give his memory the same amount of compassion. I wonder how happy his life has been, how much he has done
mental masturbatory exercise
I'll reiterate, best use of tax money I've seen recently. At least our corrupt government is spending a paltry sum on something cool to fulfill the spending quota to put us further into unrepayable debt.
This game especialy multiplayer despertly needs mass controll weepon. Something that can harm zounds of scouts/lrms/flacks quickly. I hope titan will do the job. Its easy not to screw the balance, they should be volnereable to other caps and hcs and expensive. But they should definitly solve once and for all 100-150 lrfs and 100 flaks fleets. Titans are perfect oportunity to turn back the balance form spamm
best use of tax money i've seen recently. and sithlord, your plan puts the earth at risk(no clue as to how significant), so I'll be the first one to condone your creativity and smack it down with a big "no". We don't need to endanger our planet to succeed! As for my solution....I would assemble the ship in space using our lovely international space station, and get some really nice big solar sails built and tested. These would be th
for one small moment i'm the last poster...I WIN!
The pacts overall are less useful before in multiplayer, yet are more balanced. Now they seem more like slightly more difficult upgrades that take longer, that have less overall effect on the victory of your fleet. considering how tight these border battles can be on resources, the extra 2 civ labs are most reliably used by TEC. Advent requires more logistics slots then any race to be effective at both economics and warfare, and therefore they do not gain nearly the benefit
infinity now has financial backing, a team, and a corporate identity. I can see it being released, and once it does it'll hopefully knock our socks off.
Lol carriers are not overpowered, if carriers win the day its because they weren't properly countered. You could build...i don't know...FLAK, or spam lrm/lf and eventually kick the carrier out of the grav well, or spam carriers to kill the air support, or have a cap that is anti strike craft....its easy to counter...oh, and build some repair structures at your HW, which is always a good idea anyways... Spam ships to get some nice early cap sniping power and have a disabling ca
When expanding I rely heavily on scouts, so if I see the enemy isn't close to getting a good chokepoint i'll wait to milk some more Xp for my cap for some combat. if the enemy is making for a chokepoint i'll rush for my position as well, In this way you will be on top of your game and can keep control of your priorities, and if you get your akkan to lvl 6 in the process, when the fighting comes down to it you will have quite a nice advantage. As a rule you shou
I'm good spirited, and I'll help you decrease the time on your learning curve, hit me up sometimes on ICO, I go by carpetbomb. Pretty much I make a fleet and then give you time to counter it, and critique your approach. In this way one game can be very efficient and not be discouraging. If you want to play competitively, I have only one mode, and you may not like it. Either way both can be a good learning experience.
Titans are large enough to be a structure, have them take structural damage instead :). Titans should be able to outrun Vasari starbases so that the vasari . Considering vasari's late game advantage to movement, being the most vulnerable to a titan attack could be tweaked to make a good balance. Vasari might have a tougher time getting a starbase in close, but then they have phase missiles on their bombers so no worries, they will still be OP in the late game. Al

This game is great at sorting people. People with no patience are weeded out as quick as you can say "uninstall". OP, consider yourself sorted into the "I have to think hard, and it hurts" category. If you want to take out some rage on me, feel free, my ICO name is Carpetbomb. I'll make you want to uninstall the game again.
