apathy isn't a defense, I accept your surrender.

Here are a few things why this thread misses the mark. DrJBHL seeks to dehumanize these hackers with little to no information about who they actually are. The intensity at which he writes about this reminds me of the "god wills it!" mantra of the priests shouting on the troops during the crusades. Religious zeal is bad for the mind, shame on you for intentionally trying to sway public opinion DrJBHL. Anyone who dehumanizes another living human being isn't worth l
Go for it gimpy, I understand your complaint completely. I am all for game makers making an honest profit, but when they aren't making an acceptable trade for the price with this intentional idea stagnation/overmilking it is bound to upset people. Our society doesn't allow room for this angst because the "god given price" is what the game costs and haggling isn't allowed to happen. A lot of games in the industry are using a form of "idea planned obsolescence" t
Tier 1.5 frequently beats players in tier 2, stalemates tier 1 players and the kings of the hill Carpetbomb Able to hold his own against any opponent sins has to offer. Logs online frequently in spurts, seperated by a few weeks over the years playing online. Has a 6th sense when sniffing out smurfs online and has detected many a smurf in hiding, much to the chagrin of the players smurfing. Carpetbomb uses no macros and has never spent the time to calc
Kol + LRM snipe is the best tactic you have as kol(which is easily countered), But I still stand by the fact that the kol is still better than the advent battleship. The kol offers a single tactic, and it can help against massed non vasari bombers in the endgame. The kol has a useful late game support option(flak, super tanking ability), making it better than the advent battleship which has a difficult to use and has a situation specific tier 6 ability. The advent battleship
Ah I don't think I was clear enough on what I meant by dumbed down. I meant oversimplified, like having fewer options customizing fighters, fewer tactics, and simpler flight controls, with more mundane ships. You know, add a little bit of wow's "mediocrity of experience with shiny exterior". Fixing the static nature of the game (lots of wasted time, little to no AI initiated action) is necessary... Honestly the best mod I ever had for X3 TC was cykur's ga
I think this is a good idea...why not have it this way. Players fight over ancient "to build a titan" blueprints found on a few planets. The player who has the most of these builds stronger titans, and when they have all the artifacts/planets they seriously kick some butt. what do you think? I also think that capital ship research should also research for titans, get more bang for your buck
It's a good thing I can re-download online because I jut threw the discs out into a busy street. For the 9th game in a row, 20 minutes in I am getting attacked by EVERY SINGLE ONE of my opponents. Very frustrating. If there were a "carpet bomb" cheat code or something that would really make my day...
Well as I am the online player "carpetbomb", i thank you for the compliment.
so then you agree with me as well, because that is what I said. fun fun :)
Yes, but i had already butchered the majority of higgys fleet and therefore the costs were justified. Spend the cash on the tool that most effectively gets the job done. I agree that it is a rare situation when the costs of starfish are justified, but in this situation it broke the vasari defense. Without phasic traps he was unable to protect anything from my 40 bombers and my fleet could take his out easily. His fleet did a last ditch bum rush for my cap which was eas
I know how to deal with phasic traps, its called.... wait for it....starfish! I had my nest of illums and 7 starfish take out all 4 nested phasic traps before the starbase, fleet and fighters could take out half of that fleet. It was worth it because then I just bombed everything to oblivion. Talk to higgy about his carpetbomb game if you want some more fun details. He also had jam weapons up and that worked for a little bit, it kept the battle longer but didn't
Hmm the only good help i've seen in this post against vasari vs Advent is the maintaining excellent scouting. As advent you MUST get a neutral or two...its worth it to go a long ways, defend them and you will be able to stand up to vasari quite well. I rarely go double capital vs vasari since it gives kanrak spam too much power to ice your caps. Going progen against vasari in my opinion is a terrible idea since it is so weak against bombers. Single cap ha
beat beat beat! I agree with the developers rebellion ftw! beat beat beat!
"the shameless bump" referred to in my above post. I added a LOT of stuff in the edit so it is justified.
the most effective option would be, in my opinion to build a starbase in the grav well and have 10+ overseers to heal it while it is building. Have mine layers to lay mines around the starbase so that if the enemy rushes it it they will lose a large part of their fleet (and then you warp in another starbase). Also fully upgrading the tier 5 starbase upgrade to allow the starbase to be constructed in enemy territory 50% faster really really helps. Once the starbase is upg
I know exactly how you feel mystikmind. I tried getting back into X3 and I was SO upset at the poor player to game interfacing options. The capability for awesome was all there, but usually it required a ton of mods to add to the game before it ever truly felt fully "fleshed out". I couldn't play the game without the 500k comms mod as well...having to fly close to every station just bored the hell out of me. Same with using jumpgates. If I have to fly thr

So I saw that this game is getting its engine completely remade and its gameplay improved. Its been in development for 4 years and it hasn't been hyped much. Just getting the word out that this is a title to watch, an excellent space game!

Yes way to kick ass developers! I'm amazed there is a game company out there who actually fixes things.
I would just say "win the game for me computer"
Major edit/addition, so posts up to the "shameless bump" that I made are out of date. By the current definition of MMO in the industry sins is already a MMO, that is why I chose a more gamer-centric approach to the definition(as opposed to industry-centric). Also, MMO does not mean "wow clone" sins. No No NO! You are not a rat, you don't deserve to be in skinner's box.
I thougth of a gametype with two modes. the tactical and the strategical mode.
