I believed I played this game once...Did it have a priest with a crossbow as one of the characters? I remember an extensive vampire mansion and it was similar to resident evil. I can't for the life of me remember what it was called though. Judgement?

Do some research on scalar weaponry and similar technologies if you really want to see where modern physics is harnessing the lesser western known part of physics. I definitely agree that there is a wild universe out there, and that star trek and star wars aren't a fantasy, more like an intuitive understanding of what can already be. I would say the more science I study the more the "fake" technology of these stories becomes reality. Do a search in google scholar and c
Good ideas. I took two semesters of astronomy from an excellent teacher so I have a firm understanding of the current theory. Whatever I don't know I research myself to fill in the gaps, there is so much out there! There are variations of neutron stars, only super massive suns at the early point in the universe would have the mass to form a singularity. So black hole doesn't always = neutron star, a singularity = black hole. A neutron star might(science
Quite a nice read! Now let me get on my correcto lenses and fix some things that didn't quite fit :)
Eons past, this dark giant was birthed in the midst of swirling thick columns of star stuff.
instead of "star stuff" use "star dust", this fits the picture you are trying to paint better because it is not ambiguous. Now that is a long MMO acronym. This thread is to brainstorm ideas for a Sins Of A Solar Empire Massively Multiplayer Online Real Time Strategy game(SOASE MMORTS for short). The definition of MMORTS that I have seen players use in many beta tests is a game that has social strategy mixed with other aspects of game play that players have to interact at some level to achieve victory(which should be controlled to achieve stress positive interactions, to balance out the negative as
Still, sometimes the problem DOES lie with the game. If there is one 'unit' or strategy what is clearly better than everything else, you can hardly blame players for using it. And it's not just video games, it's anything. Anyone who played Magic the Gathering during the Mirrodin days can tell you about the Affinity deck. The deck was so strong in the standard tournament environment that it frequently curb-stomped decks filled with cards that were
I still believe Advent have the worst early game...against TEC they don't stand a chance while Vasari vs. TEC is still even enough to make map/player skill more dominant...
I've been able to pull advent close quarters vs TEC where the homeworld's were connected. Spam scouts, take out constructors. Play head games with them and try to take their early expansion asteroid. Spam like crazy and cry for early feed. target the frigate factor
Yep, fully agree with mindseye, the annoying, childish smurfs need to go. I would add to mindseye's post by saying that the randomizer needs to be upgraded. Also, the ability to choose start locations to allow for more interesting variations of team play (making 3v3v3 much more interesting). Randomized games would have sub categories, like "close quarters random huge". Low resource random huge (low neutrals). things like this to allow for different
heh I never said the kol is locking a ship down. I have been saying that it is able to give its lrm support fleet enough extra time to kill any cap in the game before it will get killed. thats all.
pbhead, do you ever ask the question, Why? Or is your life predicated on truth by consensus? Truth by consensus may feel like a safe position, but it has no bearing in a debate. It doesn't matter how many people believe a lie when in fact it is a lie. Using common sense and critical thinking will enlighten you of the fact that osama bin laden is a poster that is covering many things.
Uhmmm excuse me but your argument above, Sareth, seems a little biased. For the Radiance example you clearly describe a battle against a clever opponent (moving caps away from detonate AM, kiting etc) and yet for the Kol battle you describe it as if playing against a retard. No clever player is going to focus fire on a lvl6+ Kol and certainly not anything lower. There is no point doing so. The opponent is going to blast the hell out of those LRMs
All they have is his DNA sample as "proof". They could have gotten that off of one of his tapes they found just lying around. For all we know this was his faked death so that he can go back to living his life. His family is rich as sin, and who cares what they publicly say about him, he could very well be chilling with them in a palace, with a shave.
Thank you Seleucia for actually providing a counter argument. A Kol is a much better investment than the advent battleship and here is why. The Kol is very effective when combined with a LRM spam. Warp kol in(warp it first to close range, the enemy will think you are giving him/her a present and allow it to close range, usually), and engage the enemy fleet. warp in lrms and have them make a beeline for the enemy cap. kol is absorbing damag
Kol is, in my opinion, the worst capital ship opener in the game. I think every other capital ship has at least some redeeming quality or niche tactic, but the Kol has nothing. It really needs to be brought up to the level of the Kortul.
Except for the advent battleship. That ship is truly terrible. At least the Kol has flak and can slow a ships speed to zero. I would say a Kol is a good opener for a lr
Since TEC is the fastest race (quickest to get capital killing dps, and quickest to get an economy up) as TEC you need to know when to go economy. If you scout your enemy thoroughly and you notice that he/she isn't able to put a lot of pressure on you early on, then you can quickly build an economy even if you are on the front lines. This can pay off hugely in the long term, and you should always be pressuring the enemy, and always trying to fleet cap and maintain a good econo
compressed air cars are real, being made in china, India, Australia and Europe. An ex mercedes benz engine designer from australia invented a rotary air powered motor for use in agriculture equipment and has been licensing it out to people who will produce vehicles using his engine. What powers the compressor you might ask? Solar panels. Tried, true, and i've seen them work myself. The range of these vehicles traveling normal speeds is r
Hehe, once advent get a few more early game options i'm going back to them. They are very fun to play in the endgame, its getting a competent fleet relative to your enemies that is a big problem.
Oh i totally agree with you pbhead, I've written before how guardians when they come out of the factory need to have auto attack set to OFF and autocast on everything set to OFF. Resetting these causes me to lose precious fleet control time, and if you don't reset them then your guardians just become useless... I don't build dominas, as they increase the micro level so much that your fleet overall (microing the tons of fighters, plus the tons of guardians, attack pri
Okay with all the new rebellion changes the game is going to have to get rebalanced. I still think vasari wouldn't see an incredible gain to gather much information about other races technology, as they are the kings of technology in this game already :) Yes they should have plenty of cheap tricks to be gained from this, just like any race. I wanted to provide a humorous reason for thier slight deficiency when compared to other races. Thread resurrected because
I would say No to the first suggestion because as this would make the economy of other empires, namely the TEC, off the charts. The economic GAIN of the species are relatively balanced, but when you factor in the abilities and cost per dps of ships this changes to favor the vasari and TEC in the early game (the most important phase of the game). The long term advent economy depends entirely upon this allegiance bonus, and therefore shouldn't be available to every other race as
1)Titans should enhance fleet capabilities greatly. 2)Advent suffer from a lack of options, and I am bringing some creativity to the table to help the developers fill the ability lists that will be our bread and butter in rebellion. I'm sure vasari will get some new cheap trick that lends itself totally to player skill, so I am mitigating this by providing an advent addition. 3) I currently play TEC as I have the most fun with them online at the moment, a
Here is how I would "love up" the advent. response on Previous posts: With all the antifighter/bomber capability being added to the game, and with the addition of corvettes to mix up the strike craft, advent's "airforce superiority" in the early game is being challenged. Vasari in the late game have the best airforce, so in all reality they should be considered the "strongest" in fighters. It is the advent halcyon carrier's defensive antifighter abili
I want to master the advent.. the only way to do this is multi-player. Care to explain how scouts counter LRMs? Havent got the game with me currently to try.
easier said than done :). Advent are the most difficult race to play. TEC are the easiest, and the vasari are easy to play to be moderately effective, and are a little more difficult to learn to use all their synergies to the max. You get good at sins multiplayer by accepting that your pride is go
Yes I read the thread about this topic. In the end a reinstall is the only option for the problem I was having. In my experience with trinity out of box (i bought one for my girlfriend) There was one mesh that was causing all the difficulty. I did a mesh count and compared all the meshes with hers, since I wanted to know the exact issue. Turns out trinity was shipped with this extra mesh file in the entrenchement mesh folder, the very first mesh in the file b
Just reinstall it and it works, incredibly annoying, but as a last resort it helps. Developers please fix this.
