Never did sorry, :( Well... perhaps the way to approach this would be to find some way to introduce ship and planet states from one map into another? In that way, you simply carry over your game instead of linking maps, but of course it has the same effect a persistent world or universe in this case to play and lose, or win, or half win, or half lose... :) -Teal

I am having a heck of a time trying to convert myself in dos, and used to use a tool, that is no longer available. Harpo has a cool tool but i'm afraid i am not quite bright enough to use it. It would be nice to have maps carry over information from a previous map, in effect making the game persistent beyond the sandbox games that we have had in the single game per map style at present. Gratuitous Space Battles did it, even if they are a 2D game. It would be nice to have Sins have it. Where the condition and placement of fleets, and their condition (badly damaged, 150 ships lost in battle, etc...) owned and unowned worlds are carried from one map to another

Quick question if i can please? I am running 1.2c of ELemental WOM, and have put the expandedfactions folders into the mod folder. Start game and check to see if mod is installed, but nothing. Hmmm.... I wonder what i am missing...? I have worked on a mod where i made the pirates a playable faction, but only for personal use, by copying and renaming slightly, to Pirates, instead of Pirate, made them playable and given them research. I haven't played a long enough game to see if they will jump stars yet though. Thought comes to mind that even if reducing the tech research cost for the 'Pirates' allowed them to research it fairly early then you might get a race, even if played as
