I don't mean the pirates expanding. I mean the other AI players... they aren't attacking neutral planets to take them. They completely ignore them and stay at the two starting worlds only. I put in piratestarbase template, and there are no pirate ships around the planet.
I have a working map. Took five hours, but it works. Finishing touches--- Pirate base, can I use multiple templates? The AI--doesn't seem to want to expand. I have 8 bases and dominate the galaxy with culture flow before they seem to get to two or three worlds. They are not attacking neutrals to take them. Pirate attacks--they are pitiful. They are not sending capitals.
I am at a point of real frustration with your map editor. Once I am to a point of near completion (though I do save several times throughout) I can never actually COMPLETE a map, because it has a strange fault error. This error occurs only once. So I cannot give the error code at this point. Once the error code goes, I reload Galaxy Forge, and then attempt to load my saved map. At this point it freezes. If it does not freeze, it lags beyond comprehension and then freezes and d
Galaxy Forge really, really pisses me off. t_t
Hmm. I used CityHugeStart template, and strong militia templates, mainly. Along with 8 defunct artifacts, apparently.
I'm too impatient sometimes. Please don't take that as (whats the word for it... a dick?).. or just being rude. I've got much of the same issues you all do, just a different schedule I suppose--I worked nights for the last two months and haven't yet managed to get my schedule back to "normal". @ Harpo--what do you mean by subtemplates? All of the neutral defense forces protecting each world? Or something else? Also, is there a w
oo! Make it work! If I have a Phenom II X6 1100T on a 980X, 8gb ddr3 13000, solid state raid 0 OS drive, and 3x sli gt 470's, galaxy forge should not lag. Yet!
Side note. I opened up GForge again and started clicking madly. Got to 100 planets and no lag. Tried to zoom, lagged like crazy. Added in phase lanes and it goes "Bwuhhhh?"
When I run GForge, My memory usage stays around 37% out of 8gb.. .. neither of my six cores ever goes above 15%. System resources are simply no problem. My 3x sli'd GT470's dont break a sweat. None of my machine breaks a sweat. Yet it lags. I do not comprehend why.
Instant defeat is one, but I know the root cause, and removed that problem. (That's simply fixed by making new players before creating home planets--or insuring that there are phase lanes attached between worlds). Instant crash on load is another thing. Since I know that a planet can have multiple bonuses and the game still runs, I am simply not sure why my original map won't function. I have to wonder if there's a limit on phase lanes on a single world?
I have been pulling my hair out. Between my GForge created map(s) breaking Distant Stars, and GForge itself suddenly deciding to implode, and my maps simply not doing what I want them to do WHEN/IF they ever work, I'm about ready to throw in the towel. The bonus of this mod is that there are so very many different things you can do. And I have played maps that come WITH the game that are far more complex than those that I've constructed, y
I start off with a sun, three planets. Two phase lanes. I add in 12 worlds and its like the application is trying to render an atom bomb, nano particle by nano particle. I recently updated to the newest microsoft framework 4.0. Is this why it exploded?
I feel like the help exited the building when I said "using Galaxy Forge".... :/
Do you think that it could be because I actually utilized all 20 artifacts? Since technically there are only 12?
Yes. Map was made with Galaxy Forge. And despite a reboot, Galaxy Forge is blowing up. Lags. Doesn't work right, etc.
Now Galaxy Forge is lagging like crazy.... maybe I need a good ol' reboot. :/
Mod works fine. I installed Sins, then installed Distant Stars Mod. Haven't had any issues until this map. So naturally, I have to assume its the map.
Ok I just wasted my time. I can't get the debugger to run.
There is a minidump, yes. It crashes just as the load bar moves about a millimeter. Where do I upload the mini dump? Edit: Downloading the windows tools so I can open the file up.
The only ideas I have are a) too many phase lanes on Player0 homeworld (15 phase lanes iirc) b) too many items on several planets (1 artifact and 2 bonuses--should maybe be 1 artifact and 1 bonus?) Help! :( I wanna futz around on this map. [code] TXT versionNumber 3 isBrowsable TRUE browsePictureName "" browseName "" browseDescription "TODO - Add Descrip
Six Wraith Hive ships with about 15 support craft demolished 145 Tauri ships. It wasn't like that in the TV show.
2 3300 dmg wraith ships devoured my fleet at tech 8. Tauri = UP
I was going to say, the Tauri are ridiculously underpowered. Which goes with the show, but jesus! I lost a capital ship to three PIRATES! Really? T_T Having fun. Gonna go see if I can make them take four losses to my one next time. Great Mod. PS, my skins don't appear to be working.... are they not done?
So... its been over 24 hours since I sent in a new trouble ticket (second one). No response from Stardock. Can I just assume I got robbed? Or is one of the tech guys actually going to fix my problem?
