well that just goes to show you what 6 months away from the game, and the forums, will do. i will have to play as them next, especially since they are reputed to be the best in late game scenarios

i prefer the TEC. while i will admit, i havent played vasari and advent all that much, especially in entrenchment ( i just started my first vasari match in entrenchment), just by reading the forums and and the strategies it seems to me that the TEC strategy dovetails the best with my own (turtling). they have the best defense structures, and need to build up eco in order to win
i'm back! after three months of taking a break from sins to play supreme commander, and a month in europe, i'm back! glad to see we havent died yet. i've skimmed the last 5 or so pages (read the end of the book, obviously), and random posts seems ok to me. they got me to laugh. and the whole idea of earth being lost is way overplayed. asimov is great, bsg not so much. i really liked the end of book 2. maybe the developers can give witchfire a sneak peek of new techs they are looking a
unfortunately, i am too tired to read all of the posts tonite, so im not sure if this was said or not... for the balance, perhaps the 4th race is vulnerable to some bio-weapon, like a virus, that the vasari dont have/didnt think of (for one reason or another, eg their nanotechnology eliminated viruses), but the TEC has. that could give you a super-race while still balancing the game (maybe)

what we all have to remember here is that in entrenchment (which is finally ready... yay!) carriers have a build rate penalty when enemy ships are in the gravity well. that greatly increases the usefulness of flak
Actually IIRC the Imperium Class Ultra Star Destroyer would have been built for extra galactic conquest. Basicly this thing has the power of the Death Star, could carry a fleet of warships and it also has a fleet of Word Devastators that could harvest resources, also the crew were supposed to be immortal, so I wouldn't say it's useless.
2. Getting 40-50 bombers means getting 15 carriers (each has 3 squads for Advent) dedicated to bombers. But I also need fighters to counter the enemy squadrons, so that means another 5 or 6 carriers at least. Each carrier costs 1280 credits and 220 crystals. I don't know how you do it, but I generate about 2 crystals per second so if we do the math that means it takes 36 minutes to generate the necessary amount of crystals. If there are no ice planets in my vicinity I make even less th

who knows what movie won best picture at the 57th academy awards? little kid in back: ooh! ooh! i do! i do! thats nice. does anyone else know who the winner was? you get a cookie for guessing. all right, fine, apparently this one was too hard. it was Amadeus. (great movie btw, you should all watch it)
I disagree about the TEC ships are the worst or the cheapest... I find advent ships too light in hulls and too much shields. TEC can improve quickly their armor. And I find TEC is more polyvalent.
and yet you have a picture of a kortul as your avatar... personally, i think the vasari have the best individual ships, but they are way expensive. advent is next, they have the best fleets. sadly, TEC is last (i usually play as them), but their e
do you guys realize how desparate you sound? "Oh, it could be this one-in-a-million chance, or that one-in-a-billion chance, or..." not that i'm not hopeful either. i feel really, really bad for you, witchfire. it is unfortunate that we have to be reminded of our bad times even as we try to distract ourselves. if i might add a few words of wisdom a wise man once told me: when life throws you lemons, go beat the crap out of life until it makes you lemonad

You destroyed me, Mr. Anderson. Afterwards, I was aware of the rules. I knew what I was supposed to do, but I didn't. I was compelled to stay- compelled to disobey. And right now, here I stand because of you, Mr. Anderson. Because of you, I'm no longer an Agent of this system. Because of you, I'm unplugged. A new man,
