You have stickey keys set up on your computer? I had that problem in Operation: Flashpoint but with the shift key until I turned them off.
not sure why anyone would ever do anything with that screwed-up thing. hugely annoying on the subject of the z-axis control, i found that the tactical key was unnecessary. i would hold down z, then click on a point above the ship. this worked, as the ship would proceed to move u

that is utterly brilliant! here we have a master tactician. and so detailed a description too. can i hire you as my general? i am a decent tactician, but i have always been much better at the strategic, big picture stuff :)
To the OP: Have you played Supreme Commander? It's definitely an action-packed RTS but it's larger, more strategic scale makes it far less... "twitchy" for me.
absolutely not. supcom was a lot of fun, to be sure, but the pace was too... rushed. if you stopped for even a second, it seemed like you were doomed to lose. i am also a big fan of the playing style outlines in the OP, watching titanic battles
ok i got it to work thanks all
"Mr Ness! Any comments for the record?" "I just happened to be there when the wheel went round." "There's a rumor going 'round that they're gonna repeal Prohibition. What will you do then?" "I think I'll have a drink." Reporter and Eliot Ness; The Untouchables
i think that helps. i'll go fool around with it now, and get back to you
of course people are wondering what happened to vasari. i think most people are waiting for later micro-expansions which they believe will have a campaign, or, dare i say it, a sequel/full expansion (think supcom here). i know i am. you could go find one of several mods which have other, superpowerful races in them. although they would not be the fourth race in the sins universe, they are still cool and fun to play with.
i have a question about the z-axis. how the hell do you use the damn control?! i can't seem to figure it out (admittedly, i am bad at figuring things out for myself, but thats not terribly pertinent). can someone help me?
how about The Dweeb Nurturers?
one other way to counter him is to build 4-5 smaller fleets, of 400-500 fleet supply, more than adequate for planetary defenses, and go around him. if he is keeping his fleet together, then he can only conquer one planet at a time, while you can conquer 4-5 times as many in the same time
halo ships are very nice, i'll admit. but i've made some really cool designs playing a war game with my friend in physics class. unfortunately, they are in my notebook, so you won't be seeing any of them here! i hate to use a cliche, but my all time favorite sci-fi ship is the executor-class star destroyer. its just... so... big. nothing else can stand up to it. i'm also a fan of the prometheus class, from star trek.
trader defense navy. its a good bet thats what it is

"Hold your ground! Hold your ground! Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers, I see in your eyes the same fear that could take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends, and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered fields, when the age of men comes crashing down, but it is not this day. This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!" - King Arag
marxism-leninism (which is what was used in the Soviet Union) is not the same thing as marxism. marx did not like how the Russians had perverted his ideas. a central tenet of communism (as defined by marx) was for a capitalist revolution to happen first (yes, marx was a capitalist too), which would create the proletariat class necessary for a true communist revolution. Lenin et al skipped that step, and therefore they did not start a true communist revolution. my original quote is about Lenin
Leninism is true communism, where the Lords end up with an equal share too. You're talking about Marxism, where the heirarchy was reversed and, like you said, money circulates from the rich to the poor. Rich Lords end up with nothing in Marxism.
you see, this is an actual quote from Lenin. i would know, i was there. on a more serious note, communism was invented by Marx! you cannot say that his was not the true communism, since he invented the term. and that was Le
i... uh.... i... btw, has anyone ever heard about Lenin's New Economic Plan? he developed it after the Russian Revolution. it went something like this: 1. Take all the land from the rich lords 2. Give the land to the poor peasants 3. then - blaghragiuuuuuuhhhh (he had a stroke and died; the Soviet economy subsequently collapsed and never recovered, so, essentially, we owe our victory in the cold war to something a thousand times smaller than the head of a needle)
"...I just don't want two accidents." "How bad can it be?" "Look at the lower display." "Willy?" "Yes?" "Is it just me, or is the door trying to kill us?" "Yea, pretty much. Oh, and whatever you do, don't go for the cake. That's how we lost the major." [flashback] "Woo cake! I love cake." "Dispensing delicious cake, errr, deadly neurotoxins." "I don't love deadly neurotoxins." [end flashback] "Okayyy..." "Now, this is what you're gonna need to do.
use the SB to protect the planet and the other defences to chip away and slow down the attackers untill youre fleet arrives, remember the defences are ment to support the fleet not the other way around
im pretty sure the purpose of a structure like a gigantic starbase is to protect a planet by itself, freeing up your fleet to go do other things. if its only purpose were to delay an enemy fleet, it would be kind of pointless. basically it would be (and is, currently) a g
its from the ending of halo 3 "hey, look what i found! hey, thats cool! a human m-22 fragmentation grenade in pristine condition! minus the pin... rotri? thats a live grenade. what does that mean? that means its gonna go boo- (kaboooom)" bolti and rotri; Spriggs

actually, i find it quite enlightening
better is the caps only achievement. it is majestic to watch 16 caps obliterate all comers, and destroy a 6000 planet in 30 seconds
the problem with the vasari starbase moving is that it is unfair, it is unbalanced. why should it be allowed to fullfil its purpose, but the other two not? and besides, we dont want a death star because we dont want a super death machine. to rectify this, i have a few suggestions: a) give advent/TEC starbases longer range b) instead of saying that the vasari starbase must move because it is their only anti-structure weapon, simply GIVE THEM A TORPEDO CRUI
its she, not he and i was pointing out that the debate over whose story came first was childish and irrational. if you keep reading my post, you will see that i said the stories were a good thing
