I'm guessing that they'll do the safe thing and produce a Sins-2 though I'm not sure what it's selling point would be. A greatly improved online multiplayer system and interface with features that rival or improve upon Battlenet with built-in voice comm might be a selling point along with additional game types (some sort of Capture the Flag game) and more races and planet types.
Then it minidumps, with no error report. showErrors TRUE in the user.setting file is your friend.
That's the problem, it is turned on but I don't get the error. Just dumps me, like a heartless ex girlfriend.

Minidump woes... :( How do you get over the minidump woes? You put all this effort in, you build up all these files and do so much work. You fix all the little errors that pop up. Then you play your mod, and it plays so well. Then it minidumps, with no error report. the minidump woes :(

OH I see. I think there should be a trade off. You can focus fire, but you do less damage overall. Right now, and even with a changed mitigation, if you aren't focus firing, you're losing.
Well, it probably be better if you put planetary systems instead of single planets and to Tkins, the way to do that right now if probably to replace the asteriod mesh with the barren moon mesh from the celestial or the distant star mod
That's exactly what I was thinking.

If you take regeneration into a account though, focus firing would still be more beneficial until you start doing really high DPS. Also, you're kinda working uphill because the larger the fleet, the more beneficial it is to focus fire due to regeneration, but then less beneficial due to (the new) mitigation. I was going to crunch some numbers with this https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/177320 but i

If you could change some of the neutral nodes on gas giants and have some of the planet's extractors turned into moons that would be rad. The uncolonized mesh would be a simple moon with an icon on the top. the colonized would have mines on it or orbital platforms. I think you could even have particle effects where it looks like the orbitals shoot lasers into the moon. that would be an epic win.

This made me laugh. The guy was spamming LRF's and then cries when the marza mops up his fleet. A DUH!!! Illums are not going to kill a Marza. That's pretty obvious. Whether the Marza is OP or not I'm not going to debate, but trying to make a point with this situation is epic epic failure.

Yeah, you are completely right, having the two together would destroy the game. I'd only support this if it was a replacement for that fleet upkeep. And replace that research with research that lowers the penalty by X % and max pop increasd to X. That way you could maintain a larger fleet easier. My big gripe with the current "upkeep" is that it is static. If you are widdled down to just a few ships you still get penalized like you have 1000 ships. &
i agree with Greyfox2, i hate the spamming thing i think a more conservative way of looking at what Derek06 was saying (at least how i first and will continue to look at it) is that rather than spamming ONLY one unit, you cant spam one unit as part of building a large fleet for instance, i play large fleet sizes. when it comes time to build a second fleet, i often like to build all at once, not 1 by 1 by 1 etc. So fo

Isn't that how mitigation works right now? The only difference is that your method climbs at a slower rate and maxes out sooner? Or is it based on total damage recieved?

Quick Question. I'm updating a mod I had but I'm having trouble getting it to work. I'm doing it in baby steps with no luck. All I've done so far is add a folder to the Entrenchment 1.02 mod section. Within that folder i have Game Info, Mesh, Textures, Particles, Window and String. I've added one player file to the game info and 4 capital ships then updated the string file accordingly. For some reason, the mod won't load. It just freezes.&nb

Hey, you two should help me with my models for my mod! Just need to touch them up (ie. add some texturing, lower some polys and add weapon points).. :D Also, the Fraser boys have already announced they are going into early retirement. They're buying a place in San Pancho, Mexico and sipping martinis. No more sins :( PSYCHE
