Your overall assessment is pretty true actually. Most games I've played online with Entrenchment end up with everyone having starbases on all their planets and then it ending in a stale mate (someone just gets fed up with the 6 hour game and logs off). The anti structure ships work well against regular defenses but not so much against starbases. Against TEC and Advent bases they are ok, but against Vasari they are useless, you're better off attacking a Vasari starbase w
Yeah the general idea seems like it has a lot of potential. If done right, you could have a very quick and easy way to manage a lot of aspects of your empire. It might be too simple though and require some extra detail to keep a person ingaged.
To be honest, I think police forces would be kind of useless, just like pirates now. At the start of the game they would help, but by midgame they'ed just be a waste of resources.

I want it to happen, but it's a cost to benefit ratio that doesn't work out. People who play sins play single player. Yes there are people who play online (I DO!) but for the most part, that is a slim amount of people (thank god we have them because it helps balance the game immensely). yeah, the mod I was making increased the effectiveness of cap ships, but since the AI only builds a few cap ships at the start of the game, the opposite problem occcurs, my 5 Caps will domolish it's fleets. Umm I'm not sure what the confusing part is. But i'll try to explain further... The AI builds on preset templates, which usually only include a few capital ships. I would like to know if anyone knows a way to change this. Since we can't chagne AI directly, I'm looking at secondary criteria, such as say max cap ship slots.

Neither of those seemed to work. I'll try taking it out again. Maybe it isn't that ship and it was a fluke that it didn't minidump when it wasn't in the mod.
Does anyone know how to make the AI produce more Capital ships? If I increase the Cap ship slots, will they build more caps?

So basically the AI is having a problem? Something I've introduced is affecting it's logic kind of thing? Maybe I'll explain what I'm doing. I've basically set all ships in this one faction to have 0 antimatter restore, then created a "supply ship" that has the transfer antimatter ability and high antimatter restore rates. EDIT(Yeah, Annatar, that's exactly the error I was talking about. Thanks!) Yeah, the minidump occurs without an error, even with showErrors set to TRUE. This time it happened when two ships jumped into my grav well (though it could be the ai doing someting somewhere else. I'm pretty sure those ships aren't the problem though because I've played with them before with no problems. The only time this error occurs is when my new ship is in the game.</
Side note, I'm getting "Weapons Index out of bounds" errors. They dont' crash the game but they cause an error to show up. It says something about meshes.. but i'm using Sins original models... Any idea what that means?

It's random. That's the problem. I've jumped them into other systems, had them use their abilities, move them around a grav well and it's fine. Then it'll just crash out of nowhere. No clue what's doing it. Developer doesn't work on my computer either.
Hello, I've created a ship that uses "AbilityTransferAntimatter" and "AbilityRepairDroids", has 0 guns with large amount of antimatter max and regeneration. For some reason it is causing a minidump that gives no errors. Does anyone know where this error might be coming from? I've had two versions of this ship. The last one is basically a subverter without any guns and the changes to stats + abilities. I really can't figure out what is causing this dump
I'm going to test something out for my mod, when I get it to stop dumping. Instead of having a bunch of useless trade ships, I'm goign to have fewer ships that are worth a lot more. That way, I'm hoping, guarding trade routes will be far more important and pirating those ships will be far more lucrative. I'll let you guys know how it goes, once i get it up and running.
