How would he make it buildable as a defense building though so it takes up tactile slots?

To be honest, I'd rather it be fairly complete before releasing for beta. I'd like beta to be for balance testing and the odd bug report.

Is it possible to give buildings ship abilities? ie. a building with the "clairvoyance" ability.
If they told ust he game plan, they'd be the ones getting baked and eaten when a delay occurs.
I've rarely had de-syncs but when I do it's usually with people who complain that it always happens to them.
The last two games I've played, I've rushed out cruisers and both my opponents tried tos spam LRM's and the odd cobalt/deceptor(dunno if that's the right name for the advent equivalent)... If anything it should be the other way around! Fighters kill LRM's Cobalts are half decent at killing light carriers So why are people still spamming LRM's? Even better. That way they would have to move through your anvil to get to your hammer causing more damage to them. You get to pick what side are on as well because you control your jump points.
It's odd you say that. I know where you are coming from and it makes sense, but I almost always have less fleet than the AI opponent yet very rarely lose a game (hard or unfair) playing with TEC. I never find I need more numbers to beat them and it's pretty rare that I do have more. Even in fleet battles, if I want low losses I'll try to outnumber them, but even with a smaller fleet I tend to win or at least suffer less losses.
That sounds really interesting. So I could create a building with the research as an ability? Or is it possible to create abilities that spawn pirates? I like that idea!
