Klassen, all you have to do is get all your friends to get the file, and then play a game with the .exe with them. It will be a game without the diplomacy addition, so you will be missing out on that micro expansion while you play it, but the logs will help them track down the bug(s) in BOTH expansions. BLAIR- Do you think you could make another similar .exe for diplomacy? Since its the cool new thing for many, you might have more luck getting people to use it if you made it exe
If i and Haree78 are wrong and the AI break your defense without relying on 30 ogrov cruisers, you are lucky, it would be a hell of a battle !
Keep in mind, non of those SBS have health upgrades, so there about as tough as a low level cap ship. A couple of stray Ogrov torpedoes, and a handful of HC and bombers could mean bad news for 1 or 2 of them. Plus why let those perfectly good upgrade slots go to waste [e digicons]}:)[/e] . Step 1: set lrms to hold position step 2: hold shift and click on the nearest structures in the order you want them destroyed(ie closest to furthest) IF your units are still getting smacked by turrets, then you simply do not have the range to hit them without being hit. If you hold ALT and mouse over one of your lrms, you can see its maximum attack range as a circle, if you mouse over a turret you can also see its attack range. Then compare.

Seems like you have a pretty good economy built up, so Im hoping cash is not a big deal for you. So you have 4 starbases each with 3 remaining upgrade slots eh? I would go with a variety of things. First, you would be wise to upgrade hp/shields/armor on them. This will give you some time if your enemies decide to bring in assault cruisers (which can take down SB very quickly). Most people will upgrade health to max, but since you have 4 starbases clusterd to gether you can probably get away w

GG is the white flag. But a truly GG for me is one in which I have a challenging opponent whose skill matches my own, and win or lose is decided on cunning and strategy. I had a gg againsta guy a few days ago that lasted only about 15 minutes. Our HWs were connected so naturally, we engaged very early. After what seemed like a really long battle, I came out on top, but I wouldve considered it a GG had he turned the tide on me and came out the winner because it was that close. I also cons

You can play the game, you dont have to start it and leave it. So you can play diplomacy (save often!) and just deal with the desyncs, or play the entrench.exe and possibly help with the solution. That's pretty much all you can do ATM, sorry. Maybe you can ask Blair to release a similar diplomacy.exe so you can do both.
Obviously if you're something amazing you can recover from these, but good luck if your opponent is of similar skill (or even just competent).
Well you either do what I said, or roll over. For a chance at SURVIVING, my advice will be your best chance. As for what the map looks like, if your HW only has 1 phase lane attached to it, scout first. Thats often the first sign of a screwed start. Maps can be deceiving: sometimes there'll be 2 phase lanes and neither c
Typically in a 1v1 these situations are close to unwinnable
I disagree. They make it a helluva lot harder, but certainly not impossible. In 1v1s on small random maps you'll usually have some time and space to get on your feet and ready to fight. However in situations where you must face off against an opponent only a few jumps away (in ffas or team games) you'll have serious trouble. In team games though you can lean on your allies to help you fight off oppon

Theres lots of things that could have been added to diplomacy, but I'm sure many were decided to be too time consuming to code and debug (especially asset trading: ie ships, structures, planets). They decided to make a new tech tree, a mission screen, diplomacy screen, a new ship, a host of new abilities, techs and upgrades, new victory conditions and toggleable switches. They added a lot. Hopefully we won't have to wait too terribly long for a Sins 2. In the mean time, just enjoy what t

I consider things much worse if the asteroid thats supposed to be connected to your hw is more than 2 jumps away. Really theres not much you can do except go with it (which is why there are complaints about it). I would throw down the 2 civics labs and research the tech I need to colonize the volcano (and maybe Ice while im at it) but then as soon as research is complete I'd scuttle both labs and build military lab in their place. (unless in an economy position which is being surrou
That's for Entrenchment, we're playing Diplomacy
It's likely the bug causing desyncs is the same for both games. Or at least if its in entrenchment, a similar one is in diplomacy.

AS darvin said, just leave and dont join another one of his games. Or you could take a stab back at him. While I don't condone AFKers, if he's going to be a jerk, nothing says you can't be a jerk back to him [e digicons];)[/e] . Eitherway, records mean nothing. So if someone rigs the game, just leave. Its often such a pain to get a game going sometimes that people will be angry about remakes for intentional game rigging. Play it up and maybe you can get him booted from the next game. Be

DEFINITELY want to upgrade to the most current version. To do that you'll need impulse, which is available at Stardock.com (dont worry its not DRM, but a distribution platform). Once you have both you and your friends games updated, tips you find on the forums will be much more relevant. Its been a long time since any of us have played v1, and the game balance is much different now than it was then. That aside, heres some tips for taking on Advent as TEC: Advents bread a

For the pirates, all their ships are based on TEC ship designs. Off the top of my head I can tell you Corsairs = Heavy Cruisers, Reapers = Flak Frigates, Pillagers = Siege frigates. The other two ship types are based on TEC scouts and TEC light frigates (I cant remember names ATM). If you zoom in and take a good look at them, you'll recognize the Light frigate and Scout shape under all that Pirate decor.

The best way to figure out what kind of ship classes there are, is to play all the races and become familiar with their icons. When you play them, all the ship classes will be in the same spot in the build menu for each faction, so its not hard to learn which ones which, but after playing with each race you'll be able to recognize what ship classes you're facing.

People are playing diplomacy, when I go online I usually check both entrench and diplomacy, and generally theres about 60% more ppl on entrenchment. But diplomacy is brand spankin new, Im expecting that number to go up. If you play MP or not, Diplomacy is only 10 bucks, and its worth it for the enhanced SP experience. MP, Im not sure cuz I havent many games yet, but my thinking is that while it wont effect the gameplay as much as entrenchment did, it still has a positive effect.

TEC Carrier- 835 Creds 14 supply Ogrov- 620 creds 12 Supply Drone Host- 1280 Creds 20 Supply Adjudicator- 1040 Crds 18 Supply Heres the biggest problem. Adjudicators Cost is WAY WAY too high for the job they do. Ogrovs are about where they should be, cheaper than a 2 squad carrier, and very effective at destroying structures, so you get what you're paying for. Problem is for Adjudicators you're paying ~
For some reason the AI offline is amazingly better in this version or expansion of the game, but in multiplayer, they still suck hard once an human player has left (either by disconnect or minidump), there just too easy to pushover after that.
I have no doubt in my mind this is because the AI taking over for a player doesnt get the luxury of massively increased resource income like it does in single player. Because In single player, the harder an AI the more it "cheats"
