Just an engine upgrade would be enough for me. That the original was made before multicore and 64bit is nothing short of a tragedy.

To be clear, the one I'm talking about is "Acclimatization of Will" "Enemy Allegiance Rate Change >25% >50%" "Prophets of the Unity go on pilgrimages to the planets under their culture's influence to spread their message, increasing the change in allegiance ." How exactly does that translate to just more generic culture production? If that's how it's suppose to work then why doesn't its description ju
Playing advent, I have research the tech that is supposed to increase allegiance change rate 25>50%, but I have not seen it work. Enemy worlds still will not exceed the normal 0.07 change rate when overwhelmed with my culture. Is this working as intended?
There really is nothing bad about paying with debit card or paypal. Paranoia is really a ridiculous thing, and it unnecessarily paralyzes too many people who lose sight of things at the mere mention of anything bad that can happen in a 1/100000 chance. If you want to restrict yourself to old-fashioned and increasingly unsupported payment methods, that's fine. But don't expect to be able to buy anything you want. You'll probably just have to live without these expansions
Hamachi is one of the coolest things out there. If you've got a good group of gaming buddies then there should be no end to the usefulness of being able to have a LAN party over the internet. However, it should not be used as a replacement for a proper online service like ICO or battle.net or the like. If you wanna go online and play with random people or even make friends with someone whose name youi'll never actually know, use the games actual online service.
I haven't found the starbases useful at all for holding key systems against human players. It's ability really does nothing to help the base achieve it's purpose. It would be great help if i could persuade an enemy armada to jump past several bases on their way to meet by own battle fleet, but it does nothing to create the kind of defensive chokepoint that forces the enemy to deal with the investment you made to protect your flank before they can actually attack your flank. It's like
o m g that is the exact theme i use for my browser op. Is that a normal xp theme that i could download somewhere or did you put it in with that objectdesktop thing? I must have it....
Sorry for double post, didnt want my pictures on the top main post I love watching strikecraft, so this set of pictures are all about them </p
Sins is a beautiful game, easily the most screenshottable game I know, so I figured there should be a good thread for awesome screenshots!
Probably one of my most anticipated minor fixes, the anti-ship half of the Advent starbases 'final' upgrade, still only damages shields but never hull, so I still can't quite take on larger fleets like I had hoped :(
It's in beta mode. Entrenchment isn't actually 'out' until January 1. If there's going to be a box, that's when you can get it.
Is there a upgrade for the psionic surge? I didn't find it.
The second level of the punitive measures upgrades unlocks the psionic wave. the first level unlocks the lasers. a basic base starts only with the plasma weapons, but the tooltips for the other two are still there. After it's unlocked though, there is no upgrade that increases the damage.
The shields seem to take a good 600 damage per ship, so I'm sure that it doesn't spread the damage. Especially since spreading damage that would not even kill a single frigate amongst likely massive fleets would make it an incredibly weak ability.
I've was just playing a nice long game with Advent and enjoying watching my base take on computer fleet, but I noticed the meteor storm ability doesnt seem to be hurting their hulls, but seems to work fine on shields. Almost the entire enemy fleet are devoid of shielding, but everything short of what the base is directly firing on has full health. I also fail to see any damage happening when watching an enemy ship while being hit with a meteor. Has anyone else noticed this?
I agree op. All the feverish balance and bug playtesting aside, entrenchment is fun to play. Job well done, it can only get better from here.
The games I've played in the pre-hotfix 0.90 over LAN were fine. I had fully upgraded Transcencia bases all over the place. Haven't gotten to play with my friend since the fix.
So, everyone basically agrees that starbases are too easy to bypass and do not live up to their intended purpose of defending planets and chokepoints. Some people say they should all move, some say they should all have massive range. I was thinking about the main objection to extended range for the Advent base, being that it would be unbreakable with proper iconus support keeping things at the edge of its higher range. Thinking about that ability gave me the idea; instead of extended weapon r
I have noticed that occasionally when moving across several system, a capital led fleet with group move orders will start ignoring the group and jumping at well, becoming strewn across the path. I havent seen up close exactly what they are doing, just that i'll look back and all my ships are all over the place
I looked there, was mostly bug and balance complaints. I figured a thread about how people were using them was more fitting for strategy. sorry.
So, I've been putting the beta through it's paces, mostly with advent. The starbases are pretty cheap and fast to build basic, but more costly if you wanna fully upgrade them. So far I've found that my favorite use by far for my starbases is to act as trade ports in non-planet systems to fill in the holes and extend my contiguous trade route to epic lengths. The defensive capabilities are somewhat disapointing given that it's guns have less range than a standard defense turret, and although t
it seems everyone heres going either either for advent or vasari. I myself love the advent. all the special abilities of the capital ships and support cruisers make for a deadly fleet even with inferior 'i shoot you' capabilities. I kinda wish their superweapon or culture in general could be more effective though. Takes 2 superweapons dedicatedly taking turns firing on one planet for half an hour to actually have it overthrown, and if you forget to fire on it for too lo
