not until EA got their hands on it. Back when it was Westwoods baby, it was definitly one of the best RTS ever.

i havent seen the SB bug, but i have seen the weird phase hop... im sure you know but its worthwhile to note that the vasari Subverter (i think) has the ability to do a mini phase jump within a system... if you are experiencing what i think you are experiencing, its when ships arrive in a gw, and then all of a sudden reappear a good distance to the left or right... really weird... although it isnt bad when they would have run into a face full of space mines if they hadnt jumped =P

coloured space boxes turn the "sky" different colours, like soasertsus said. its sorta like throwing a bucket of paint at the wall and seeing what happens the deep space boxes adds more subtle touches, like more stars, some semi-transparent nebulas like clouds and highlights etc. if you click each on and off you can cycle through the different styles having them on at the same does nothign really, the colour overrides the deep one almost entirely, but i play with colou

EA preatty much ruins anything they touch. look what they did to Command and Conquer! I couldnt bring myself to finish RA3 because it was just too painful and not fun to play, and from what ive seen of Command and Conquer 4, its not going to be much better...

well, thinking about it logically, green is a very hard colour to create in natural flame... i mean, of all the star types we know of, they have the colours of the different levels of flame on earth (red, orange, yellow, white, blue). in order to create a green flame you need to add a chemical or ink or some other artificial additive to create green flame (did it on a school cadets camp once, got bored on picket duty so started burning stuff out of my ration pack =P) so... its
Was my map up to par? Im still trying to fix the AI horde.
the map was good, although the main (only) star in the map was a neutron star which was annoying but not game breaking... i havent played the AI horde map in a while though... the only thing i can say about maps is that the standard ones (which are really the majority of the maps) dont use the new GW varieties enough... for instance the only map ive seen a ship graveyard in is the map i was playi

the fact simply remains, if you have more flak than he has fighters etc, you will win, if he has more SC than you have AAA, he will win, etc etc stop trying to win the game with 3 ships, and you'll find the balance in Sins isnt as big an failure as spammers make it out to be
and would have seen that my scout had just uncovered his homeworld.
i take it you play with the sound muted? because the sound the game plays when you discover an enemy planet is nearly impossible to miss... i do however agree that there needs to be some priority list of which announcements should be played... for instance, i dont care what my ships said when i selected him, or planetary development complete, i care that a pirate raid is about to be launched and
Quoting Whiskey144, reply 1676 hmm, I haven't played any race except Vasari at present, and their Destabilizer is set up properly (I think, might have to go back&check). As for their orbital defense, well, that thing was a bit "not right" in terms of tier. The icon is way off on the right (making it look tier 7), but is really only tier 4. With the Vasari on the example I gave there actually wasn't any mo
Jumpers are bombers because they will be using Drones, while this fighter is going to have lasers.
aside from that laser/beam thing the asurans used agaisnt atlantis at the end of season 3 (?) is there any lore showing ancients/asurans etc using weapons other than drones or whatever projectiles the Destiny uses? im not picking a fight, im genuinely interested, and if there isnt any lore... maybe try something more original than 'lazorz'?
But then... what is time, exactly?
time is simply a measurement used to quantify the movement of celestial bodies i mean, a year is the time it takes the earth to go around the sun, a month the time it takes the moon to wax and wane, etc etc. so really time is completely relevant and entirely abstract the reason a black hole shreds time? because if you put a planet next to a black hole the gravity of the black hole will slow (or speed up, depending on th
hey Rez- it might not be a bug, so much as there wasn't enough room to put everything in its proper place. if at all possible, i think it would be cool if magnetic clouds hid all ships inside them, so like, only yo ucan see them, but not your enemy and you cant see your enemy alternatively, go the opposite way and show many many more ships than there actually are, just to confuse players though i prefer the first idea, itd be good to launch surprise attacks from, as for balance... perhaps sufficient scouts or a researchable tech to allow visibility in mag clouds for a period...
