So there's no way to make capital ships gain experience other than direct combat or through ExperienceConstantGainRate research. No kinds of buffs or anything like that.

Is there any way to add a constraint to a researchModifier? I want to add something similar to Mass Transcendence for all of the factions, but I want the TEC Loyalist's to be at half the rate (maybe even a quarter), and only while in friendly gravity wells. I know the base modifier for this is ExperienceConstantGainRate, but is there a way to add a constraint so that it only works while in friendly gravity wells?
From what I can tell, the forum seems to be 50% sinkillr + alts saying "flak is op pls nerf" and general trolling, and the other 50% is the rest of the forum saying "oh look it's sinkillr sinkillr stop trolling"
Is it just balancing issues because of what got changed in the 1.1 patch?
I like the siege idea, but I'm not sure how it would be implemented from a purely logistics standpoint. What's to stop you from just warping your fleet into the planet and just wiping the enemy out, instead of having a long, drawn out siege? I really like the terraforming idea, feels like it adds a lot of balance if the VL are on the enemy team. But there has to be some kind of diminishing return, otherwise VL could just strip, then TL/TR/AL/AR could terraform and then abandon
What exactly needs to be done in order to update the mod?
....it says right in the title that he is porting to rebellion. aka this isn't for rebellion yet.
I heard somewhere that you could get a free 'upgrade' to Trinity if you already owned the 3 games included in it. Is this still the case? If not, why not? You already bought the 3 games (and paid more), so it would be nice to get all of them in one convenient package. Also, since Trinity is on Steam, but the core 3 games aren't, it would be nice to get this so I can add it on Steam.
I've noticed that whenever I start a new game, mutiplayer or otherwise, the beginning is always REALLY boring. Just the same old stuff. A rush is nice, but I don't really have the resources to defend against it. How can a person get past the boring beginning game stuff?
I did what you said, Loki, and it still doesn't work. Says the conversion took '0 seconds or 0 minutes'.
What's so special about them? I just got out of a game where the enemies (Vas and TEC) were spamming them (up to like 50 or so) Why would they spam them like this? Also, in case it happens again, what's the ship that can counter them?
I think my main problem was that I was focusing too much on the trade ports. Another factor is that I can't micro very well at all, so I don't remember to build defense/labs when I need them. If I can capture alot of planets, though, how can I get the resources I need to build up the civilian infrastructure so I'm not losing credits?
It seems whenever I start a multiplayer game, I'm always the last one that's got a functioning economy. On my last one, I had 3 cap ships, ~30 missile frigates, and a titan attacking my planet within the first 10 minutes. (this was with Vas Loyalist, but still) It's because I'm using up too many resources, but everything I'm trying to research/build seems essential. Usually, I build a cap ship/5 light frigates, send the cap ship out to one planet and the fr
Well, I didn't have allied victory on, but there was another faction. So it's probably 3. ....that's a devious AI ._.
Basically, the title. I had a almost perfect 20/20 relationship with another faction, and out of the blue they decide to drop the peace treaty and start attacking me. I haven't really used diplomacy that much, so is this a usual thing, or is it a bug?
That's mostly effects. I want to learn how to MAKE a texture in Photoshop.
I think that I'm ready to start UV Mapping and Texturing my model. I just don't know where to start. Any tips?
bump for a link
There might be, I think it's an Ironclad problem though. If it wasn't, there'd be error reports all over. EDIT: Seems like other people have been having it to.
I actually want this. While it would be hard to manage, it would be cool. Like a merge of Supreme Commander and SoaSE.
This is probably it:
-- [2/13/2010 7:01:31 AM] ---------------------------------------------------- Context: Updating ApplicationList XML: isv Message: Updated network xml did not have expected revision (retrieved 722 / expected 730) Build #: 1637
It's saying that the expected version of Sins is not what it got.
Alright, I have a crash dump file now. Stardock is prompting me to restart, I don't feel like doing that right now. I'd upload it, but I'm not sure if anyone besides Ironclad can do anything with it.
I know, that's what I'm doing. I am verifying it. I'll try starting it in Admin mode... Wait, how would I do that? The user account I'm using is an admin, I can install stuff on my computer.
I said I was using Vanilla Sins.
I've seen that message box ten different times, just today. I download the "update", restart my computer, and when I launch Impluse AGAIN, I get that same. fucking. error. I've already done a fresh uninstall/reinstall. What more can I do? I'm using the Vanilla Sins, BTW. I need to verify the app because it was crashing. I can't see what the minidump contains, because all of the debug files are blank, for some reason. This is REALLY pissing m
