Thanks! I found a workaround here: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/426307/page/2 It's just that they've let this issue go on unresolved for 2 years now...and it's an easy fix. At least they released a new boxed version of the game! rofl!
ReadyMan
bump for a LoL and still no official fix!
Here's the thread with the workaround fix. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/426307/page/2
Heh! I made the mistake of preording rebellion and this multi-monitor bug was never addressed. In fact, one of the devs (Yarlen maybe?) had the audacity to say that they "couldnt replicate the problem". It's been here since rebellion. I have 3 monitors and this is a game breaker for me. Now they want more money for dlc? ugh. what a joke. Sorry for the rant. I'm so disappointed in Star Dock...
Here, install this as a mod with the new 1.5 patch. It will disable the superweapons and hide the research options from you. I didn't remove the module option, but without the research you won't be able to build them. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5790092/Temp/DisableCannons.zip Cheers!
Zombie, can you update this mod for 1.51? Or if you tell me how to update
Ahh, that's right. I forgot about those additions. Thanks Ryat.
What are the additions of the DS mod now that the DLC added more planets, and rebellion added more graphical enhancements? (I looked but didnt find this information.) Thanks!
Here's the original post from the game release back in June 2012, posted in this thread by another user: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/426307/page/2/#3367704 "I have 2 Monitors, and when I scroll in the direction of the Second monitor, instead of keeping the cursor inside the first monitor (Window the game is in) it allows the mouse to escape and never actually scrolls to
Was this fixed in the latest patch, or was it ignored again? It's been over a year.
Did you ever fix the multiple monitor bug (where the mouse pointer travels beyond the center monitor to the 2nd and 3rd monitor)? Right after release this was stated as a known bug and I got an email stating that this would be addressed. But it didnt/hasnt been yet.... Haven't played Rebellion much at all because of this and regret that I pre-ordered it.
As you can see, I have read this thread, (and the others like it) since I replied to Yarlan's message right below his post :\ However, they have not responded to this since June, this in addition to an email from them that they would address this.
to fix this: go to video settings > check windowed mode > apply > when asked to keep the changes: cancel > have fun with proper dual screen I got 2 screens myself so I know it works
Thanks ezeltje299! This works great. I'm not happy with Ironclad over their silence on this matter (not that they care), nor their refusal to
We'll be looking at this for a future patch, but it won't be in the next update (1.03).
The game has been broken for me since the beta, so sadly SinS continues to lie dormant. Has this been fixed yet, or any word on when this "will be looked at for a future patch"? Thanks! RM
Play with 1 monitor running and others off if you don't like the mouse issue. It's no longer a bug, it is a feature. Most games are not made for 2 monitors.
Interestingly, I havent had this problem with other RTSs like AoK, AoC, AoE 3, RoN, SC2, SupCom, etc. It's a bug.
First off, does anyone know when the next patch for Rebellion will be? I’m guessing the devs are “busy” with balancing issues and what not, but these interface and Galaxy forge issues have been around for awhile and there seems to be no mention of anything being fixed internally in the patch release notes. Perhaps some of these problems have been addressed before, but again, we still haven't seen any improvements to these are
I can rarely get it to work. 5 times total I've gotten it to work. Thanks for the reminder though....I'll keep trying this, I guess, when I want to play Rebellion. Honestly, this teaches me a lesson to NEVER buy a game before release (I thought that SinS could be expected to be far more polished...kinda surprised at the company, actually). I havent done that in years...serves me right. Would rather have my money back (which isnt much really) t
any word at all?
Any word on whether this will be addressed in 1.04 or not? Thanks.
Thanks for the update Yarlen. Sadly that means shelving Rebellion (at least for me), and moving on to something else while we wait for the fix. Serves me right not to have participated in the final portions of the beta so that I could have seen this coming---tho I had pre-ordered already, and since it wasnt an issue in Diplomacy, there's no way I could have known this bug would exist at release before my pre-order purchase. Hopef
Alt-tab a couple times, works for me when I'm too lazy to fire up cursor lock.
I've only gotten this to work 4 times. It's VERY annoying. I run 3 screens, and cant move left or right without mouse wheel scrolling in and back out. There was a post that this will be looked into, but I'm curious if it's part of this next patch...? </p
All those addions are useless till they fix the mouse not locked to window bug.
Hopefully it's soon. I'd really like to play, but this bug has broken rebellion for me.
There's another thread started about this, and one also in the Tech forum. It gets even worse when you have 3 screens. I cant go left or right without having sins minimize/lose my cursor. It's a game breaker. Here's the other thread https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/426682
There is a big problem (big at least for an RTS and a MAJOR problem for multiplayers) for those who have multiple monitors: The mouse is still not bound to the game window on multi-monitor setups. The cursor travels beyond the screen during the game. Sometimes (3 times I've gotten it to work) I can press escape/windows key to go to the desktop, and upon returning, the key is then bound to the game window. This is not consistent though, or it would be a decent
Other RTSs do not have this problem. In fact, of the RTSs that I've played, I dont ever recall this being an issue (AOE 3, AOK, RoN, SC2, as well as vanilla SinS, Entrenchment, and Diplomacy...being just a few recent RTSs). EDIT--Also, if it wasnt a bug, then it wouldnt be sporadic. 4 times I've escape-windows keyed out to the desktop and then back in, which locked my cursor to the monitor window. It's not consistent, which is annoying, a
