Entrenchment v1.02: Missile Barrage: Leave it alone it's fine (yes a graphical addition to make it more noticeable would be a great idea, but the damage etc is fine). Light Frigates: Need a boost so they are worthwhile, which at the moment they are not. Less fleet cost, and perhaps a bit more turning radius would make them usable. RM

Light frigates seem like they are under powered. What really are they good for? Yes, they counter carriers if you have enough of them, but any carrier group is going to have some LRMs with it which will decimate the light frigates. the only real counter to carriers is carriers....flak works for the fighters, not so much vs. the bombers. A smart carrier player will adjust his strike craft according to needs/opponent... Yes, they do well early
flaks dont do much vs bombers....so what's the ratio that you feel would work superfleet?
I'm trying to find it so that I can upload it. Where is it located? Thanks! RM
nice post azrak!
that's the one! thanks centurion! RM
I have quite a few mini dump crashes in online play. Where can I send the mini dump file? I've looked and posted, but no one seems to know where these files need to be sent. Thanks RM
comon, there's gotta be a place to send these log reports. I've gotten 2 out of the last 4 games....so frustrating! Where do we sent them? I'm willing to take the time to do it, I just dont know where they go. Thanks RM
In a lot of the 4v4 and 5v5 games, the neutrals really dictate the early power. I've been playing TEC and try to get ahold of a number of neutrals as best I can, however, because the vasari scouts can grab these, and there are so many scouts roaming around, I cant hold onto the neutrals. Leaving a colony ship in the grav well isnt an option, because it seems that the general tactic is for vasari players to put 3 scouts in each neutral well, to hold onto the mines. </
Quoting Proletari, reply 6 HC rush is a bad idea. Not when I do it... Its also a very effective strat to feed towards as the reward for the extra push in resources can cause a landslide advantage in your favor.
P5yy, were you playing yellow with jbaum, bagsx, me, etc in a 5x5 last night and you did an HC rush?
I got a coule of these today. I hadnt rebooted in a few days, so I was wondering if that might make a difference. After the reboot, I'm 1-0 without mini dumps. I think we should all keep track of how often we get these, and if/when we reboot, how many games after the reboot is the first mini dump. Perhaps the data will help IC?
Great ideas! Seems like the scout rush is very labor intensive, and if you fail/are not fast enough, you will have a hard time recovering... I saw King do a sova rush, followed by kodiaks which was....interesting. It takes a bit of time to get all those labs up and the research going though.... It seems I used to be more successful with the two cap start: rush with the marza, colonize/clear planets with the akkan, followed by LRMs backing up the marz
hrm, I guess that's true. What are you referring to by "attrition"? (RoN used to have an amazing attrition element, wherein you took damage any time you were in an opponents sphere of control).
Is it possible to rush as TEC, assuming that your opponent (in a 3v3, 4v4, 5v5) is also rushing you and is Advent or Vasari? (Arguably, with feed this is possible...but without feed?) Both the Advent and the Vasari have stronger rushes to the TEC. Getting carriers w/o feed takes too long. Getting double or triple the number of LRMs is not possible unless the opponent is not playing well. It seems that the TEC is always goin
so just to clarify: You can still lose your planet to hostile culture, even if you have aux. government on your sb in that gravity well? Essentially, the aux. govt. only protects the planet from being taken by force, not culture However, you still have a sb in an enemy gravity well then...?
The description on huge cargo holds says "frigates improved: trade ship, refinery ship". So that makes it worth going with more civ labs... which brings up a good question: Which is better, 20+ trade ports, or fewer trade ports and pervasive econ? or even fill trade ports first, or make a long link and then go for pervasive econ, then fill planets with trade ports/logistic slots?
I find mp games are about an hour for 10 players, tho it can go more (and when they do, they are epic and usually really fun). 3v3 and 4v4 can be 40 mins or so.
Interesting thought Hack. I have alloy enabled, and I was thinking of making a post about the very same thing as I see this quite often, but not when I host. If it's about Alloy, then I'll work on my router because I like the faster ships etc. Some games seem to just FLY things go so fast...I prefer this. RM
Even late at night (9pm my time is 3am NY time) there are 50 or so people online....can get a game within a few minutes most anytime. I only play entrenchment. It's worth it, buy it, you'll be blown away by how great it is! RM
I've been getting lvl 6 marza's much faster now....Keeping that 2nd cap out of the mix for the first part of the game makes A LOT of difference. Question: How important are hoshikos? What do they do besides healing and/or using their destruco-bots?
Tried this yesterday: double upgrade on the button, waited for my two opponents (I was doubled) to get into range and then blew the sb. It destroyed their fleets, but not the caps, and all my support structure. Yeah....pretty good, especially for games where people drop and the teams are lopsided. Thanks for all the input!
So if you are going for the trade routes, then population becomes very important doesnt it? It's so expensive tho (I usually get the planet to pop 2 when I colonize it, so I dont lose $ on it). So how important is the population to the trade route? The length of the trade route is the first goal, right? Then populating each planet with as many trade posts as possible, then populating the planets? Huge cargo holds also effect th
Lately, in mp games I've been getting a number of mini dump/crash to the desktop. Soooo frustrating. Apparently this is happening to others in the same game as well. Is this a known issue that is being addressed? Should I send my mini dump files somewhere? Is there anything that can be done? Because this is ruining such an excellent and fun game... RM
So what is the best way to feed the team when you are in a 5v5 and in the pocket? Playing TEC, I always went 2 quick civic labs, then started with the metal/crystal upgrades, then trade ports, etc. However, I was watching a game and saw the pocket player only research trade ports, set up a 4 planet link, and then filled every slot with trade ports (4-8 on each planet). Of course his income for credits was insane, however he didnt have much metal/crystal.
OK, that's the issue then...I had it only upgraded one time. I wont make that mistake again :)
