This is taken from the unit reference charts on the strategy page. Illum range - 5520 Javelis range - 9800 Assailant range - 7820 Iconus push range - 7500 As you can see, assailants and javelis outrange what the iconus can push. Illums have to be a little farther out to hit anything but even at maximum range for the push other race's LRF can still hit stuff. Push

It sounds like you want to sim-city for a long time while you build up a maximum capacity fleet, rezonator. You are right that online is not going to give you enough time to accomplish that generally. It is rare thing that I even research half the fleet supply levels before the game has been decided. You can get away with building up in a large multi-star online. Not many play that online that I see though because it takes so long to finish. Multiplayer may just
And before and 'pros' say, "but you can beat spam.", obviously there isn't enough of a deterrent to spamming if people keep going it every game.
"People" don't keep going to it every game. I couldn't tell you the last game I spammed only 1 unit. This post isn't about spam anyways. It is about Tyr thinking illums and guardians together in a battle ball with other stuff is overpowered.&n

Both repulsion and illums have alraedy been nerfed. They dont need yet more nerfing. Subverters do pretty good breaking up a battleball. It should also be mentioned that assailants outrange illuminators by a decent margin and should be able to kill them even with push. Plus they have a decent chance of skipping shields with their phase missles to hit advent's already thin hulls. It is annoying to get pushed around yes but also annoying to have a couple of subvert

It doesn't matter how much you try to convince him. No matter how many times you beat him because of knowing without a shadow of a doubt what he is going to do. No matter how anyone tries to teach him otherwise. Obviously it can't be beaten into him. He will be stubborn and insist that he is right. He clings to what worked for him in 1.05. I have given up trying to convince him otherwise. [_]-Greyfox

"Smurfing" is a problem you just have to learn to accept. I am not a big fan of it either and don't have a smurf name myself. I can understand why some do it. Sometimes it can be hard to get a game if someone sees a clan tag or stats much less a group of clanmates wanting to play together. I don't see it as a lack of courage because obviously for you posting negatively about it then you lost and they had no reason to be afraid. If you in fact won your game, then

It depends on what you are really wanting to do. If its single player you mostly want, then you wont be hurt by playing original vanilla sins to see how much you like it before investing another $10 in the entrenchment expansion. If its multiplayer that you mostly want, then you will want to have entrenchment because thats what most play nowadays online although there are some that play vanilla. [_]-Greyfox

I would think that you are still able to help your team until you are completely wiped off the map. Even with a homeworld thats getting bombed you can still help by feeding with your HW's credit production. If you left short of being totally obliterated on the map then you can still help. Short of that you should have talked to your team still before heading out. There has been a time when all my worlds have been destroyed but my mothership and I came back to become nu

Thats kinda a bad attitude for someone wanting to a clan. It is the wrong forum for it though. There needs to be more clans in sins as there are only 2 active ones. If this person can start one and get it going then all the better. My advice is to get some people that you play regularly with together and start one and recruit from there. [_]-Greyfox

I have also seen some games in which a player name is "stuck" when forming up a game. The player will be un-kickable and it will say the player is not logged in when you click his info button. I don't think the player is actually there because the stuck ones never respond to chat and some have logged in on another name and be in the same game. [_]-Greyfox

It seems like I remember it being said that if someone didn't have the miniexpansions that it would disable for all so that a game could be played without much fuss about it. I was very disappointed that one has to quit one version and load another to check for vanilla games or entrenchment games. I can only imagine how they will do it for subsequent expansions and all the possible permutations. It would be nice to have a toggle without having to start the whole thing over.&

Darwin3 has it completely right. The savings with the mothership are large and the shield restore is so much better than what the radiance has to offer. Like I said in the other set of posts that you posted on, there is something to be said on a very small map to having a radiance but anything bigger than 8-9 planets and you are gonna need a mothership. If you are playing smartly then the militias should be attacking your cap anyways regardless of what it is so you dont
I would never recommend a mothership for the first capital. It's fairly weak, has a terrible lvl 6 ability and is only decent as support with the shield renewal, which you are going to skip early for the planet colonization probably. Youw ill also need to build the colony ship anyways to get neutrals, meaning you just wasted the capital ship choice. Take a Radiance or Carrier capital ship. Radiance is just all a

The overwhelming majority of the time you should build the mothership as your first cap as advent. There are exceptions of course(e.g. if its a small map and you know you are going to be 2 jumps away from your only enemy then you should build a radiance to help nullify enemy cap abilities). The mothership is still going to be a respectable first cap in any circumstance though. You should not go with civ/harmony stuff unless your enemy is a good distance away or you have

I will review [_]-Flipkik. He is a well balanced player. I would feel comfortable with him on econ or on the front. He can hold back some of the best and if I need feed he is the one I count on. He micros pretty well. He is a good team player. There are others with more skill(but not many) but I would choose him over them as a teammate because I can depend on him to have my back. Is it me or would playing on a map made by a player in the opposition seem a bit unfair? I would say that a random would do the best. Best out of 3 is fine by me but it seems rather pointless. After all, we are basically the only 2 active skilled clans. Its not like we couldn't play again regardless of the outcome. Getting mapf**ked is always a risk that you have to deal with but its not an insurmountable thing. We are supposed to be good at adapting after

In game, you can press enter and then press tab to cycle through to speak just to allies or individual players in the game. You can speak to just allies by using the command /a at the beginning of your message. You can speak to the people online on your friend list by using the /f command whether you or they are in game or not. You can send messages to individuals by using the /w then the name(example: /w Ray hello). [_]-Greyfox

It's not just DT. It is difficult with the [_] tag as well. Even trying to get a 3 vs 4 or the like is damned hard with clan. I have taken to using my untagged name at times so I can actually get a game. People see a bunch from a clan in a game and they wuss out. I can understand to a certain degree considering so many give up at the slightest turn against them rather than continue and help their team while clans are unlikely to run out on one another. I st

The trinity is basically a progenitor, halcyon, and either a radiance or rapture. It used to be radiance as already mentioned but with carriers being more important now I lean more towards the rapture unless i need detonate to disable a marza or other cap. They have good synergistic qualities that are important to the battleball. As to the battleball. This is a mix of fleet ships put together in a ball. The necessities of it are a progen, halcyon, guardians, an

I never look at someone with low game numbers as unskilled until they prove it in game. There are far far far too many smurfs out there to use stats as meaningful. The skilled/questionably unskilled thing does cut both ways though. I don't know how many clan games we have had where we host it and as soon as someone joins and sees a bunch of clan people in the game they leave without saying a word. I'm guessing they think they don't have a chance and figure why bot

I have seen many a player kicked for being a "noob" or even a smurf. I haven't done so myself because i only rarely host games. Generally when people have been booted when I have been around, it was a skilled game or someone was making room for another skilled player that we already knew. I have had too many times when I get a bit angry cause I have some unknown player on my team and as soon as the slightest bad thing happens, they ditch out of the game. They dont dig

Vasari phase missles do not reduce mitigation. With research the phase missles have a chance to completely ignore shields and mitigation doing damage directly to hull. TEC have no such luck though. Their missles and such get mitigated. [_]-Greyfox
