I agree that the cap ship momentum/turning problem is something that needs to be addressed. Having a cap killed just because it cant move or even turn away from repulse just plain sucks. Making them immune to repulse may be a problem because they can easily be singled out easily but there may not be a better solution to that aspect of repulse. [_]-Greyfox

No one griped about illums when carriers/fighters were king. They only gripe now because LRF are king again. Personally I think the solution to the illum problem is returning fighters to their old strength. Personally I think the 1.1 era was the most balance there was in this game. People griped about carriers but it was mostly people that didn't/wouldnt counter them with LF which were actually useful then. SB spam kinda sucks and vasari SB is entirely
I dunno how you can say repulse + illums isn't imbalanced. Illums as is, ok. Repulse as is...ok. Combined. Problem. Big Problem. I like Astax's arguement, but can someone for the life of me explain why the hell the enforcer gets upgraded for dps at tier 4, 5 and 7? The fact that the first upgrade is at tier 4 is just mind boggling to me. I'm content with the enforcer as is, but why the hell is that upgrade up so far? I'm n
JJ has been attempting to start a panic to obtain a relative boost to vasari which is what he prefers to use. He shows different replays and experiments of his to show how screwed up various things are in hopes of things to be nerfed(advent particularly) so that vasari are comparatively stronger. Whether there is really a disparity looking at the big picture is harder to nail down. After all, we dont pit just HC against HC or illum against kanrak to the exclusion of everythi

Plz help me think of names I should be adding to this list. hey thanks for putting my name up there ReadyMan. i've played with you and your pretty cool as a team player. btw there is few names that is pretty good that i've played a few times, if this is the time to shout out then this is the time. <b
Yeah, I am going to tend to side with reborn if its a character decision(which it is now). From the way he talks it corroborates the picture that rubee was dragging the game out(because he said himself that he plays if he thinks he could win and it sounded like he thought he could win). BaronVonMunchausen, who was in the game and on the team of rubee from the sound of it, said it could have gone either way when he was disconnected but leaned towards reborn's team winning. &nb
The point being made was you said you built scouts in response to spam. There was no spam of illums at that point. There was a shitload of scouts made by you thus scout spam rushing. The way that game played out was you killed my labs with time bombs and ran the scouts around my hw well forcing me to chase you. You didn't attack the few illums I had up. You used the superior speed to slow down my killing of scouts. I rebuilt labs on my roid and other world
Ya, poor vasari. They have phase missles on everything and outrange repulse with kanrak. Plus they get nano to kill the hell outta progens or any advent ship for that matter. Plus they get practically all the neutrals with scouts and they have their moveable SB that eats illums whole and repairs itself in the process. They really have it rough. =P [_]-Greyfox
Copy and pasted from other thread cause I am lazy like that. You confuse this with the now defunct black list. If this is rubee, then I would imagine most people would believe reborn over you. By the way you talk it sounds like you were the one dragging out the game if you say that there is no time limit if you think you can win and you apparently thought you could win. If you have the replay then show it, otherwise STFU. [_]-Greyfox
Ok. Scout rushes aren't hard to counter at all. Why this is pissing you off I don't know. It's so easy to embarass a scout rusher. You do get that right? All this tactic does is stop your opponent from making long range frigates. That's it. Scouts don't destroy buildings, are horrible against caps, and can be easily destroyed by anything not having light armor. ONE MORE POINT I ca
Scout rushing is BS. I have said as much on other threads. They are meant to scout and have the odd secondary abilities of limited use. They are not meant to be a large part of your fleet. They are meant to scout. The fact that they have an ability to make mines targetable does not mean you should use them as your primary attacking unit. I have never talked about scout spam being a late game tactic because that is suicide. It is a very
I think that returning carriers to 1.1 would eliminate scouts as they are being used now for a couple of reasons. First off being that the LRMs that scouts are being made to kill would be built less in favor of carriers(basically killing off the prey means the predators starve). Also fighters would kill scouts more efficiently than scouts kill carriers. I was always fine with carriers even before they were nerfed. [_]-Greyfox
Everything does have its place indeed. A scout is supposed to hmmmmmm.....I dont know......scout? Spamming anything isn't inventive. The fact that even one is named scout tells you that that class of ship is for scouting. They all don't have to have heavy cruiser or long range frigate or carrier in their name to be that kind of ship. Scouts are typically not intended to be the primary damage dealing component of a fleet because they are scouts. Th
This thread is funny. Everything can kill scouts but lrms. Let the devs actually focus in something thats op like repulse
Everything including LRMs can kill scouts. This is about the idea that scouts shouldn't be the primary component of any fleet like has been the case increasingly lately. I have
Personally I think scout rushing is BS. I have mentioned this in other threads and finally now it is getting some attention. Scouts should not make up the bulk of anyone's fleet. Now let me break this to you yet again....... scouts are to scout! I know this may be a shocker to some of you who build 100+ to make up the backbone of your fleet nowadays but try to control yourselves. Scout rushing can be countered although it can be a huge pain in the ass especi
The same way the advent do......lots of bombers. Starfish is absolute crap at taking down an SB of any type much less a vasari that just runs over and kills said starfish. TEC are better with their antistructure unit but the vasari will just run over it as mentioned before. [_]-Greyfox
The mitigation issue is not really a problem. It will only really happen with extremely small fights. The focus fire of any sizeable fleet is going to max the mitigation quickly. This only came about because JJ chose to test 1v1 ship. [_]-Greyfox
Kiting anything means that you are running around and the enemy is following afterwards(like playing with a kite). Some kite carriers around the grav well to decrease the amount of dps the carriers get hit with. You can kite other things around like scouts but other than that there is not much call for it. There have been many games where I have lost and many that I have won. To a certain degree one can say whether someone has skill or not but like has already been mentioned. We all screw up at one time or another. I have nothing against DU as a clan. I don't think they are bad players. I have played with many of them prior to them joining up together and didn't think so then either. I encourage more clans to form. Friendly competition is a good thing e
If you remove everything thats different about each unit from their dopplegangers in other races, then there is no reason to have other races at all. It is for flavor and variety. Viva la difference! [_]-Greyfox
Grey, if the illuminator does more damage per shot, but has a slower rate of fire, this is a HUGE advantage because shield mitiagation works based on time being hit and time not being hit. The more hits, the more mitigation. So, it's not really a problem with mitigation, but rate of fire of certain ships.
It is a huge advantage if you do every battle 1v1 ships. With larger fleets it doesnt
I am curious because I do not know exactly how shield mitigation works for this small a test. Would one illum that does less damage frontally to one target raise shield mitigation all the way or does it take more than one illum focus firing to make shield mitigation max? If it is because it does less damage and thus does not raise shield mitigation all the way then that may be the reason the illum won. If one illum can't raise the mitigation to maximum in a meaningful t
