I have a CD key on the back of the manual that came in the box. I assume that's what it is referring to.

doesn't the demolition bot ability only affect frigates? so doesn't it become less and less necessary as the game progresses? Also, considering that it is somewhat late in the research tree, isn't it mostly obsolete? but the repair ability is great. I was having the same troubles as EBITAD, my hoshikos didn't seem to be doing anything. I highlight all of them and tell them to repair one thing. And I only get the green 10 hp notice, not 50 hp. But, different repair abilities

thanks harpo and ManSh00ter. One more question: I downloaded 7Zip, and clicked extract for Bailknights mod RAR file. it seemed to work, I got a new folder, with various files in it. So, I went on to Sins, and activated that mod. Projectiles seem the same. (but I don't have time for a whole game right now, so i just tested it for a capital ship and a couple frigates). Any way to tell if the mod is working or not?
When I downloaded bailknights from the link above, but it didn't come as zipped folder, just one big file. A made a new folder for it and dragged it into the Mods - Entrenchment 1.02 folder, but it didn't work. (It did show up on the game though, but the projectiles were the same). Suggestions?
is bailknights available alone? I tried to get distant stars, but wasn't so willing to download the whole uncompressor 7-zip program, especially right after hearing a lecture on internet safety.
Looks like i'll be playing vanilla then... [e digicons]:|[/e]
Another unrelated question: what is the point to giving the AI resources? I gave one race probably a good 5,000 credits and a few thousand metal and crystal. It did nothing. There seems to be absolutely no point. Is the only reason for online play then? (I don't play online though, so I don't know if giving stuff is still an option)
Sorry if I sound stupid, I'm new to the game (and the forums, for that matter). What are some good mods that work for the most updated versions of Sins and Entrenchment? I played with several that were popular on Impulse, but not a single one on Impulse has been updated since the release of Entrenchment. I tried my favorites just to see if they still worked, but they didn't. I've been scanning around the recent forums, but not being too sucessful. For example, one isn't quite finished, t
yea, that frusterates me, too. I love that feature for planets, but for ships it gets annoying. As said, the easier way to turn it off is by clicking the mouse and video camera icon on the top toolbar.
Mitigation per second = 10*d - 2 where d is damage incoming. that formula (which is not the real formula) says that for every second a ship is under fire its mitigation increases at a rate proportional to 10 times the amount of damage it takes and mitigation decreases at a linear constant rate of 2 per second. get it?
Yes, I do, thanks for explaining [e digicons][/e] [quote who="Ryat" repl
Whoops, I think I messed up the quote thing. Let's see if it works...
It constantly decreases at a steady rate, but if the ship is taking damage fast enough, mitigation will increase.
So, if you just leave a ship sitting (under attack), its mitigation will decrease, but when you reach a certain point of enemies attacking you, it increases? And it is more effective to have a bigger fleet w/ high mitigation on target than
I have been reading lots of posts, and many of them deal with this whole thing about shield mitigation and focus fire. What are these? When I play, I have this large fleet firing at a starbase, and the starbase says it takes 30 damage per second. So, I could just make a heavy cruiser and a light frigate to get the same dps? What? Then the only way for a large fleet to be effective would be to manage each tiny little group into attacking different ships. There's also this t
I think it's just a question of strategy. Agent of Kharma, here, hates caps, but does fine without them. Others look at caps as holy grails. Personally, I find them very useful in battle at the start (and even the middle) of a small to medium game, but past that, they should be (and generally are) used for planet bombing and abilities (or drawing the fire with small fleets).
And yes, the starbases and carrier ships were in a plasma storm, and the colony frigate was in a magnetic storm. Thanks guys!
Is reverie a ship or a capital ship ability?
I have another question, if anyone else is willing to answer it: I was playing as the vasari against the advent, and several times, the abilities of my ships were "disabled by the enemy." I scanned over the special abilities of the advent ships, but couldn't find any that could disable squadron launch on starbases and carrier ships, and could disable colonize and create starbase on colony ships. What ship can do that?
Ah, thanks Darvin3. I forgot about the surrender option.[e digicons]O:)[/e]
there were about 150 kodiak (kodak?) cruisers (can't remember pirate name), 120 ish cutthroats, 90 ish garda flak frigates, and about 50ish pillagers. out of 1 TEC faction, 2 advent factions, and one vasari faction that i forgot to mention, i destroyed all but one advent faction that the bug applied to. but i don't get what you mean when you said "that might be it." also, you said that colonizing everything works, but to do what? (sorry, I like to ask a lot of questi
I'm playing a single player game (I'm vasari, in systems of war, against three easy opponents), and I befriend two races and attack the third. I destroy about three of their planets, and then it says that they have lost. But, they still have at least 5 planets (I can't quite remember how many) left including their terran home planet. But, in the diplomacy screen, it says that they are dead. There are some colonizer ships at their planets, but they aren't trying to colonize the
Thanks Nakor. I did order it under a different account. But I used the registration code that I found in the email and registered it. Now it works![e digicons][/e]
nevermind, I found it! Thanks again Ironclad and Stardock![e digicons][/e]
hey, I bought entrenchement, but when i clicked install on impulse, it said that i need to update impulse. I searched around the top (explore, community, updates, etc.) but couldn't find anything regarding the update. then, remembering that when i open impulse, it installs updates on its own, i close impulse (that may have been the mistake). I open it back up again, it installs the update, but now entrenchment is gone. It appears that i need to buy it again. Is there anything that i can do be
