This mod is a fairly mature mod, it has been optimized to run faster and have a smaller RAM footprint. It also integrates the "Sin Optimization Project" for the original races and the new races have been similarly optimized.

Hi digdug83 , Glad you are enjoying the mod and thanks for the feedback
I don't know if this has been brought up or not but I've noticed a few planets who have odd numbers of logistics slots (ie not divisible by 4) after applying all logistics upgrades.
Thanks for pointing it

Yes, the standard and expansion are complete and independent mods. Trinity can be used to refer to Diplomacy or alternatively Diplomacy, Entrenchment and Original Sins, hence the confusion.

I am trying to stabilize R5 before adding a new race ... if that is possible. However I have all the models for a pirate race. When ... one step at a time

Hi calwyn12 , "is there a way to get rid of the dangerous asteroids in the newest version of maelstrom? I've done it before with the trinity version of the mod, but now when I try using the same method (detailed on page 42 of this thread) in the rebellion version it mini dumps" Should be the same, so either you made a typo or the "count" is slightly differe

Glad you are liking the mod. All content, and more, has been available since the R4 release (Rebellion) There is a bug in the R4 release, which occasional causes problems, and which I am in the process of tracking down

Hi Guys, I came across a reference on the RAM usage of DirectX 9.0C, here it is ... "Under DirectX 9.0C (and lower) video card ram must be duplicated into system ram. That means if you're running on the highest settings with your new shiny 1GB video card - that 1GB of video memory must be duplicated" [ http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91260 ] As Sins and specifically Si

Interesting ... I have never had problems personally and the vast majority of people are OK, apart from 2GB issue, so all I can do is scratch my head ...

Anything is possible ... but the planets haven't changed since R1. If a planet is the culprit them it most probably is its ability. That being said ... the most common cause of mini-dumps, for large mods, is the 2GB RAM limit, on large maps with many players. The best way of easing the RAM footprint of a mod is to reduce the graphics effect settings. I always have debugging turned on when I play and develop (see the options in the file rebellion.user.setting, in "Setting"

Does it immediately need it? as I am busy with R5 for Rebellion From what I understand the number of changes (from 1.34->1.37) are small ... at a guess R9 (1.34) should work with 1.37 in the short term

I have had no reports of corrupt mod downloads. Even if there was problem, it is unlikely that both modDB and my website would be hosting corrupted downloads. Can you confirm that the R4 download from modDB gives warnings of corrupt files when you un-compress it? I would also try un-zipping to another location (such as a general documents folder) and then transferring the files to the mod directory I use 7-zip to create the mod download zip file
