Time travel? You receive some advanced ships (so not light frigates or corvettes) of your race at a random planet of yours, maybe even a capital ship? Economic crisis. It should be a short event. YOUR income rates are reduced by x percent. Problems with the Unity, your max allegiance is reduced by x percent because of major problems with the faith. Slave uprising. Your slaves refuse to work, causing structure and ship build costs to go up

While the society is full of lame idiots you cannot achieve anything, they will just follow the ones that promise them the most.

Good idea making this thread. Some kind of variability even for the neutral factions would increase fun factor I think, maybe for the new anomalies put more pirate ships instead of 3 TEC frigates? There used to be long discussions about this topic in the past. But true, noone could find out anything useful about the nemesis of the Vasari, only possible guesses were made but no official comment from the Devs. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/437710/page/4/#3392249 https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/441233/page/3/#3389084

Wow thanks psychoak, nice text describing the problem well. I know CO2 is a minor thingy, I study Geography at university, we had several courses about environmental changes. I understand the cycle hypothesis, but what if we currently live in a cooling cycle like in the middle ages, Little Ice Age or how English calls it? What if this naturally cooler period is mitigated by human effects? Though IF's are not very constructive, I know.. I still think

I have one thing that I don't understand about anti AGW people. CO2 is a greenhouse gas, amongst many others. Do they really think mankind could raise the level of CO2 above 1000 ppm without ANY consequences? Or do they question the greenhouse effect of the gases? So how is it that mankind releases greenhouse gases, but it does not have an effect on global temperature (I guess anti AGW believers think this way)?
