If they are assaulting there is always defense turrets to hold them off. EDIT: I realized I might have been mistaken about the last part. The lack of reference caused me to get disoriented on what it might be, I knew it has something to do with iron just wasn't sure.

Light frigates are good. They are not hard counters of corvettes, but you really don't want to mass flak frigates unless you really know how to use them. Light frigates are decent against corvettes, can be accessed immediately in the game and not very expensive while still gives you enough firepower to deal with bigger objects like capital ships. Corvettes have negative multipliers against light frigates while light f. does not have this penalty against corvettes. Late game it'

Some random stuff that came into my mind recently about the 1.5 beta version: Cheaper exploration of planet surfaces and higher chance of finding something- excellent, I do exploration well before late game as now I can afford it New artifact properties- paired with the cheaper exploration, singleplayer fun factor increased over level9000 :D Titan research level1-3- it is a magnificent idea to do something about these otherwise boring stuff, they didn
@Yarlen, can you do something about AI colonization? In todays game my ally refused to colonize, he acquired 2 asteroids but failed to send colony ships to 4 other possible planets (volcan, dead asteroid, asteroid and a terran), but he had 2 colony ships at the edge of one of his asteroids.. Slowly he got defeated by attrition as his opponent had all worlds colonized at his part and it was a huge advantage on his side. AI and the colonization of Volcanic and Ice planets were always pr

But having an ally who is so worthless I am getting in a 2 front assault in an hour or so because my other enemy can afford to send huge forces my way
A strange thing happened to me in a 2v2 (medium large random map), my unfair AI ally just stopped doing anything after a lost battle and after this he got wiped out without resistance by another unfair AI... is it supposed to happen? It wasn't building ANYTHING (ship), he was satisfied with having 2 capital ships and a light carrier... It wasn't a fun game because he died well before I was able to make a decisive strike on the other front and I don't like to go 1v2 against unfairs
Are you using the Rebellion 1.5 beta? Because there even the random or pre-made maps have this problem too..
Random maps are not working well, in every try so far they acted like my made maps with small phase lanes, player sectors are isolated, only 1 route to the center (random medium, random large), and sometimes only connection is a NOT WORKING WORMHOLE... have to start the game over after discovering this is not good, but it would be awesome if wormholes worked :) Grindstone map is broken. A great addition to the game, I always missed more planet textures, types, and discoverable things :) Very good job! I am preparing my Paypal to be able to purchase it immediately after release ;)
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW A DLC OMG is it possible? Someone wake me up :)
Yarlen, you lied to me in another thread where I asked whether it is possible to get new planet looks and new planet types, yet it seems there will be... You said not even in DLC... HMM.. [e digicons]:|[/e] Strange stuff going on. BUT it would be awesome, and thanks for the hard work!! :)

@Yarlen, we still have no news on the phase missiles, are you planning to change anything about them? These practically make late game Advent fleet suffer like hell against Vasari, not having any high-level capitalship after 2 seconds, or a titan exploded no matter if it's shields were still on, and maybe still powerful.. It would really make the game more balanced, as phase missile units have extreme advantage over their average racial counterparts (especially bombers) because they pass
Who doesn't want to know? It's not really a question. They must be put in Sins of a Solar empire 2 if it is ever released, their introduction would cause many interesting changes. BUT This race will not be balanced or will not fit the role of Vasari killing nemesis, it cannot be balanced and invincible at the same time... To be honest I would really like to see a race like the Reapers in Mass Effect, focusing heavily on capital ships and squadrons, and frigates
