cap-ship heavy play style
Do you know how capital ships work? Fewer the better. I can't really remember what changes are in this mod about capital ships, but I think even here capital ships are like in original game, they get better than smaller ships only at higher levels via their abilities, that is hard to reach when you have 13 of them. Try killing 5 heavy cruisers (almost same cost same fleet supply) with a capital ship,

Enable quick start and disable pirates. Never upgrade capital ships, only if you feel it's absolutely necessary (I never feel this way). This will help you get a much better start as you will be able to do real things right in the first second. Expand like crazy! seriously don't stop expanding, get more planets then your opponent AI really fast. Build long range and swarms of corvettes (40-40 of both can be good). Put starbases on frontline worlds and get a titan after this as soon as
Curiously waiting for the TEC ones (if you are going to make them) as I am a TEC player, want to see how others do it different than me (or what is similar).
From my previous reply 1044 it may seem that I include myself as those skilled players who don't play Sins actually, I want to mention I am not on this list (and maybe not even skilled, but maybe skilled who knows, I can't decide on my own), just to prevent future replies of this topic of me being who on that list. I just read this thread once in a while.
Some people seem a bit scared.
Many players here don't play Sins anymore (including me), maybe waiting for the last balance patch (like me), keeping a little break in playing, or completely finished this game, who knows, this is not the most popular game of 2013. Although far the best space strategy game in my opinion.

Although needs some discussion as what ZombiesRus5 puts here is personal preference, there may be some things not everyone agrees about, but it can be a good start even if it's his personal list as it is very close to what goo
I would love to see this as a mod. Has anyone/will anyone do this?
Just keep looking on forums, many players hate Titans, I think someone already made a mod for it (as I really like titans I am clearly not interested in reversing the game to Diplomacy, so that's why I don't know if there is a mod and where).
Shield Mitigation still takes affect before shields are damaged. Shields+Hull+Armor is your durability. This isn't a complicated subject.
But why researching before hull? From replays I saw someone only researching some shields, I don't think early on that's much of a help. I think he does not want to see all these bullshit again like Aggressive Ponies and other stupid ideas there is another thread for it so please, it is not funny. There is no official annunciation of the enemy, the hint is not that powerful in the .exe file as noone has even a clue even this day. I will mention the strongest ideas from the original thread or another comments in this forum: 1. Ancient demons that were released by the Vasari phase ex

That means either all yards have a nice queue or your fleet capacity limit is reached.
I forgot to include this in my comment, thanks for pointing this out. For the price of 1 cobalt you can make a good economic increase that will pay itself off in some minutes and help you after this to replace losses. If you have extra credits an

For me Eradica is better as it can easily deal with infinite number of frigates, but Coronata is close to it, as it can deal huge damage to single hard targets and steal ships.
I tend to grab Ice, Volcanic, and Corvettes first.
LOL we both forgot to mention the colonization researches :D so yes, research the ones that you see you have in your vicinity, don't research ice colonization if you don't even see a single ice planet on the whole map, BUT, it is not even necessary to get them, you can be victorious without colonizing hard planets if you have an eco player feeding you or ma

Opinion from a complete outsider: sareth01, you are wrong. If you are asked by several skilled players to leave that is no whining. And key things were mentioned in previous comments, if you drag a game that has extreme lag, you deserve to be kicked from online skilled games for acting like this. You make many players to crash their game if you don't leave from a completely lost battle, and ending up minidumped feels the worst if otherwise you could have a win that you deserve jus

Definitely any non-Eco player should not research them unless the game is already going your way.
I know, I can read thoroughly and understand English.. I never mentioned playing against AI. It is your opinion that non-eco player should not research it, I have seen SEVERAL good players researching it * , and I
I like to research 1-2 extraction increase as it always comes handy and not that much of a cost especially for the TEC. Never go into defense, only research hangar and repair platforms, and research useful ship types like corvettes, long range, flak, (based on what ships you will need to counter your opponent) and after a while carriers (but only if necessary). If you are doing good ant think can stay alive with collecting enough resoirces for a titan than research ever
This is a good idea, it is a bit strange to see how ineffective are ship counters even when your opponent has slightly more ships (no more than 1,5x your ship count), would make it easier to withstand unexpected very early rushes, but still won't change the boring situation of what fleets are effective, maybe makes fleet composition change a bit earlier. Titans are the main thing making factions unique, as their native techs and their unique stuff on the research tree is ridiculous, nothing much changed from the original race... TEC Loyalist wouldn't be defensive if they had a huge Ragnarov tearing apart anything on it's rampage, and we all know of the titans which are stronger and which not... For Vasari it would be just LOL as both titans are seriously OP, Advent factions have 2 good titans (Eradica is better

My ships were all in a ball and turning around, not targeting the eradica correctly it seemed.
I saw similar things too in some games. Ships act really weird if THEIR TARGET IS MOVING. Even in their direction they (your ships) start to reposition, many times even turning in the opposite direction so they won't even be able to shoot a single laser, while the prog+eradica combo is enough to withstan
