I wish to join the PUG. Is #sins still the channel? I've logged on a couple times during "prime time" and not seen anyone. Also, what maps do I need to download and where?
If the TEC require such an insanely unbalanced ability to counter illums, then there is a very serious balance problem somewhere. MB has infinite firepower. That is inbalanced.
That is such a sublime statement. If there really is such an imbalance with illuminators, I would definitely be up for rebalancing them. Of course, I'm game ONLY if there is an actual imbalance issue. I don't particularly care if people are just tired
I think it would be cool if you could move away from the equator line. Some defenses would have to be altered surely, but having the gravity well be spherical, and having a 3rd axis of movement would be friggin cool.
I know that you actually CAN move in the z axis, you just have to hold a button when you do it. I don't think it affects firing arcs though, it's mainly just to get out of being completely surrounded by sh
Bear in mind, I've only played a handful of 1v1's (on an appropriately sized map anyway), and this was before I got decent with advent (it was the first few games I played online). Nonetheless, I too have found it useful to expand directly towards your enemy. In fact, since i am an aggressive style player, I usually do this on any appropriately sized map. Obviously, very first thing you should build is at least 2 scouts. You always want to make sure you have at least 4 discipl
Well as my subtitle suggets, I finally got entrenchment. I was playing around with the new tech last night trying to figure everything out. The ogrov seemed pretty decent, but I found the starfish pretty lackluster. At 18 fleet supply, that''s roughly the equivalent of 3 illuminators. According to this link - http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=p7xc_snd9Cc-6o2UwvPEWUg&gid=2 - illuminators have 16.6 DPS, so divided between the three banks ( I heard it's 50% up front, and
Sick 90 fighter squads on the bombers and the rest just park (hold position behavior) next to the javs and watch their health deplete like a slowmotion missile barrage.
You can tell fighter squadrons to hold position? That's frakking awesome. I've always hated watching them attack once and fly a mile in the other direction before they pull around for their second pass.
I do think the Vasari need a better way to stop it, as the only thing thye have right now is the Marauders Phase Out Hull. I think that Distortion Field ought to get a little more range, and be able to effect Capital Ships, but for a reduced amount of time based on the ships level (ie a lvl 10 would be disabled for only lik 3 seconds, while a lvl 3 might be disabled for 15 seconds.) Either that or an added effect to the LFs interference abi

No unfortunately. I should have bombed the ever living marhsmallow out of Wax's hw instead of hunting down his tech. As a result, his superior economy caught up and he outproduced me just as his Marza got level 6. Davey then double teamed with him against me while Red swung around my back door to kick me in the shin. Davey also managed to get up enough of a defense to keep Capt at bay, kostura cannon or not. Some painful lessons learned, but all in good fun.
Pushing "K" will also toggle between them.
Awesome. I will TOTALLY be cheerleading/trash talking the different sides. It will be epic on the proportions of Gilgamesh...end his little dog too. On another note, is it possible to join up a faction for occasional games? I could probably commit to one game a week saturday night, but nothing more than that. Hell, I'd be for "substitute gamer" as well if someone had to bow out of a committed game. Obviously I need to get a lot better first, but when the time comes...p

Hellllloooooooooooooooooooooo Replay mania: http://www.mediafire.com/?md1jyuqlzmw Previous to this game, I've had a hard time getting off to a good start with Advent, but I feel I did a decently excellent job getting off to a great start this game. HEY it's Matt! Great job tonight buddy! You definitely still have A LOT to learn, but you held out great tonight, especially with how badly you got placed last game. It particularly tickled me to see you nipping at Wax's heel and F************ up his volcanic planet.. Keep reading up on the forums.
First of all a common misconception: the Akkan is not a low damage capital ship; its DPS is actually just a hair below the Marza, putting it at second place overall for its faction. The catch is that it's a side-shooter, so half its firepower comes out of one side and half on the other. If there are no enemies on one side, its firepower is cut in half. Maneuver the Akkan into a good position and it easily matches a Marza for

Thanks again for the replies. It definitely really helped me in the two games I played today. We ended up losing both of them, but it's all part of the growing pains. Especially when it comes to dealing with MB for the first time.
