I haven't played the beta but I have been looking through beta footage on youtube and I've noticed that they choose the faction that they'll belong to at the start. Is this just for the convenience in the beta or are they going to stick with that idea? I recall hearing something about having to make the decision during the game. The concept doesn't feel quite as awesome if it's just something we pick at the beginning and stick to the entire game.
