I have a few questions about Galaxy Forge here... Is it possible to specify which skybox you want used in a particular solar system? Can you specify if a planet has a "porous" or "dense" core? Can you have it so that there are no local militias/pirates around newly explored planets? What does "weighted" mean? Thank you very much. ^_^
RestlessMind
Sounds cool. I have gotten to the tactic of placing a repair bay facing the phase lane adjacent to possible enemy entry, covered by 3 turrets, and the planet would have 2 fighter bays. What do ya'll think?
My name on Ironclad online is "RestlessMind". If any of you are new to playing online, well, so am I. I'd be glad to add any of you to my friends list there so we can play and learn together. ^_^
Oh, I see! Thank you very much. ^^
Me and Deus Ex (you might know him) were planning a joint attack on a guy called "5150" because we were on the same team on multiplayer. So he had his huge fleet with a Dunov, Kol, 4 Kodiaks and of course a whole load of frigates etc placed at a gas giant one jump from 5150's planet Giomon I think it was, and I had mine on an asteroid belt the same distance from Giomon as well. We jumped in at the same time and began firing on the sparse defenses. I immediately set the single capital ship Mar
Thanks Darvin! wasp, where is the hold position button again? :P
Nice story! I liked that a lot. I lol'd at the "liberated the populace of Rimspark." Yea, more like liberated their charred remains after heavy nuclear orbital bombardment. XD
How often do you place planetary defensive structures for your colonies? Do you think they are necessary? What do you think of the idea that a good offense is the best defense in Sins? If you have different strategies for single-player against AI and multi-player against humans, please state them! Me, personally, was drawn to asking this question because I was thinking about how many times I've actually seen a guass defense turret/fighter-bomber squadron fire on an enemy ship
Thanks for all the great info!
I've only played but a few games in singleplayer, what are the chances that I'll get owned the first time so badly that I'll be back in single player in a few minutes? :P
Thank you! By the way, once I select all the desired variables for the AI (such as "TEC - easy fortifier") and then lock it, the values I select will remain the same, correct?
Could someone tell me what exactly the "lock mode" does?
It's really bothersome when two of my allies begin fighting each other and call me to attack each one's respective foe, which is also my ally. Then if I don't complete the missions, my standing with both of them falls. Besides simply choosing one ally to keep and another to betray, are there any ways to have allies of mine that are neutral or adverse towards one another to also ally with each other?
Thank you!
Okay, so I created a custom map with 3 factions. The first was my desired faction (called "Terran Federation"), the second, a small enemy faction (called "Terran Seperatists") and a third larger enemy faction, caleld "Vasari Imperium"). The first and second factions' homeworlds are in one star system, while the third is in another entirely. I planned on playing as the Terran Federation faction, but ended up as the Terran Seperatists, or at least my homeworld was the one I set for them
restless mind when you are making the map in galaxy forge you CAN specify the planet names in the properties of the planet harpo
Oh, very cool. Thank you for that info!
as for the meshes I suggest the either the celestial bodies or the distant stars, both has the planets in the sol system
What do you mean by that?
Yes... I see... that's very stupid of me. However it still doesn't explain why it would give an error even after I replaced the files with backups I made...
Okay, so I tried to use this mod: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=108&libid=71 which apparently did not agree with my game. I got an error, I don't remember what it said. Even though I made backups of the folder I altered and replaced the altered files with the backups, it still got the SAME error. I tried to reinstall my game to fix it, but instead Impulse installed an "update." Then I tried to run it, but I got this error: "Sins has detected an earlier Entrenchmen
Is there any way, when creating custom maps, to name your home planet whatever you want, instead of the random name? Is it possible to create custom maps where you choose the kind, name, and location of each one individually? I'd love to have a Sol system in SOASE! I understand these would most likely have to use mods. Do any like that exist or able to be made? Thank you very much!
