True, I would be happy with that, but I would also like to see a campaign mode come with it, there's just so much story they could add in a campaign, starting from the beginning before the Vasari arrive and then into a long war where the Vasari's enemy shows up too.

It probably would've got 9.5 or 10 out of 10 had it included a nicely polished campaign mode. I'm surprised, despite numerous expansions and updates, that one still hasn't been added.

True, I was thinking more along the lines of that scene from Startrek Insurrection, where the enemy ship fires a subspace weapon which creates a subspace tear which grows in size until it's closed. Granted, that's Star trek, but the Vasari are experts (or so they thought) at manipulating gravity and space travel. But I'm still convinced they created something like the replicators from Stargate and they've run amok and slain all the Vasari.

Been a while since I watched the intro video, but it starts with a screenshot of an... Experimental Transport Lab Which to me would suggest they were experimenting with manipulating phase space. The third scene shows a lot of energy being released and striking what looks like asteroids Is it possible that it isn't an enemy per se', but they've somehow destabilized the galaxy itself? or perhaps space/phase space is collapsing because of what they did

I don't think we should even consider leaving our solar system until we, as a species, you know, get along with each other. Being someone who's interested in such things as alien visitation and UFO's etc, if our respective governments first response to a UFO is to send a plane to shoot it down, then we shouldn't be spreading our virus like self to other planets, let alone other star systems.

It's a shame they aren't spending the time they have, to update for 64bit and multicore systems, which I Still find very odd. But, I am looking forward to rebellion

I've played Sins since it was released, purchased it before beta and there's two things which I think the community needs more than anything. 1) A dedicated forum for mods and 2) A torrent service for mod downloads. More details on each point, as follows 1) A dedicated forum for mods I personally find this official sins custom forum a pain in the rear to use, it lacks featur

Hmm, I prefer the current ones, the voices in the video sound like amateurs, heh Not that there's anything wrong with that, I just prefer the finished/professional/polished ones.

Been pondering this idea for sometime, but wanted the Sins fans' feedback. Assuming Sins 2 eventually gets released, I was wondering if people would be interested in a third party forum for the modding community? I've just sold my first forum that I ran for 8+ years, so I have a fair bit of experience with all things hosting and forum related. (Hence i'm looking for a new project to start heh) There's many benefits associated with using a third party forum, for o

[quote who="Ryat" reply="94" id="2842222"] Quoting Jagji56, reply 93If you guys could get it to work with 6G, that would be epic. The one problem I have with Sins is that I get 3-4 ours in to a game, and everything just starts lagging like crazzy.... That is more of a processor issue. I use The Sins Optimization Project mod mixed with Distant Stars (all modified to work together) and can keep memory usage below 1.5 Gigs. Still have slow down. Doing just TSOP can cut it down to .7 Gi

Wow, 7 months after the last news item, better late than never I guess, heh I to, think multi core processor support should be considered, very strongly. (along with the memory restriction problem)

Heh, I uploaded a recording of a video I did with this mod running to Youtube, it got blocked by Sony Entertainment. Your video, Sins of a Solar Empire Distant Stars - Pirate Attack, may have content that is owned or licensed by Sony Music Entertainment.
