Sorry, guys, just disregard this entire thread. I've worked it out. I've been working too hard recently, and my mind's all over the place. Thanks for the help, anyway.

I am not sure if it's me who is misunderstanding, or everyone else. Sorry about this, guys, but I can't find what you are directing me to. I am talking about Rebellion. I have been playing this game since it was Vanilla, and things have changed with the new version. In order to increase pop-cap, I need 1 point in Directed Reproduction and 1 point in Captive Suppliers. I have a crew available for Titans/Capital Ships, but the game is refusing to let me use them. This is what I have been trying to do, but it tells me I need one point in [blah blah] and one point in [blah blah]. I am trying to ask how I can get these on the tech tree.

No, I am looking for Directed Reproduction and Captive Suppliers. How do I find them on the tech tree? I've looked at everything, and I can't find them. I am currently playing as Vasari Rebels, if that helps.

How do I get to [something] Reproduction to create Capital Ships and Titans, and the other one to allow me to create bigger fleets? (I am sorry I can't be more specific but it took me so long to find how to post this, that I have forgotten the exact words).

Ah, right, I've never updated a mod, because I don't really understand how to do it. I've looked around on this forum for information, but after 7 pages (and 93 to go) I've given up and decided to ask - the 'Search' button at the top is not working in my Firefox. Anyway, so, to get this Homeworld mod working in the current version of Entrnechment (1.051), what exactly needs to be done? Are there any tutorials or posts with detailed information? Ch
On a side note, though, Hitler was killed in 1945. Were you just stating the obvious or did you miss all those paragraphs of text explaining how the mod takes place in an alternate history. Its WWII in space guys, this isn't rocket appliances.
That said I know we have tried to tone down the German side from the ideology of the Nazi party to a more Prussian-esque faction. I believe in our timeline Hitler and much of the German leadership was killed in 1944.
I'm very much looking forward to it myself. On a side note, though, Hitler was killed in 1945.

How is it possible (or even 'is it?') to go up or down during a battle, rather than staying on the disk of the gravity well? I've gone into battle before and noticed sometimes that enemy ships and structures are sometimes above or below me. How is it possible for me to do this? Being able to do something like this would also be great when dealing with some of the ridiculously huge minefields I occasionally come across, too.... :)

Hi guys, Can we get a sticky with a list of mods which are available for the various versions of the game, updated when necessary (new game versions, new mod versions, new mods, etc.), as I'm finding that I'm clicking on threads for specific mods (which I'm really interested in, such as the Star Trek one) only to find out that they aren't available for Entrenchment v1.051, for example. A quick-look list would be great, if that's not a hassle to create. </p
Sadly, the weapons systems aren't optimized for that type of combat. Kodiaks need turrets, damn it!
Personally I don't mind. The fighters can only fire in front, too, so it's not a problem for me. I also like the movement because I can focus on the one ship and let it take the camera with it on a tour of the battlefield - great for showing this game (and this incredible mod) off to people!

Cheers, I've just tried it with the Dynamic Movement minimod, and it works fine! No problems at all! And, I must say, the DM minimod is pretty good - it's better having ships moving rather than just standing still and shooting at each other as if it was the 19th century! Excellent work!! Well done, lads!

Ah, so I'd like to try out the stuff in the extras folder, then. How do I do that? By the way, I just tried the mod and played two games on it (Point Blank and Face Off) - now I see what all the megafuss is about! It's brilliant! Love the music, love the sound effects, love the graphic effects, love everything! I got slaughtered on Point Blank after only colonising one planet and got worried that this mod makes the game harder than usual (I'm not very good at the game a

Just did everything instructed in the tutorial post for installation - however, what do we do with the 'Extras' folder? That's not mentioned. It might have already been asked/answered somewhere, but I can't find anything about it (honestly, I have looked).

I got Entrenchment a while back, because I was told that Starbases drastically improve your chances of winning the game. Since then I have actually won several games (whooppee!!), but now I am in a pickle. I'm playing a 3v3 at the moment, and we have 3/4 of the star system. My two allies are hardly helping (both being bogged down in a huge huge battle for an asteroid belt), so I am left to my own devices to wander round enemy planets - the only problem is, each one of t

Ah, thanks. I was looking for a button like that. I'll take another look.

I have just recently started playing 2v2 with AI ally, and I've noticed that my ally (as well as my enemies, for some reason) ask me to perform missions for them. If I don't complete the missions, then I go down in their estimations. Fair enough, this makes sense (and it often ends up with my allies declaring war on me, though we don't actually come to blows, because they still keep giving me missions, which I tend to complete accidentally). Now, my question is, how do I get them to do things

Right, thanks for the tips, everyone. In the end I downloaded Entrenchment, as I was fascinated with the Star Bases I've been hearing about so much. As a 'quick try-out game' before going off shopping in town today, I fired it up, and was pleasantly surprised, nay, shocked to not only win the game, but also win the game in 1hr 33mins! The Star Base seemed to have a huge effect on the game. So, this is my first ever win on Sins Of A Solar Emp

Ah, thanks. It's actually a map I made in the in-game map editor. I'll play the game again and record the replay and post it up for you to look at. Tell me where I'm going wrong! Thanks a lot for this!

Well, after reading these replies I played a game to test out the ideas. It was a small map, as usual, with only 8 planets - no pirates. I took the first four planets (including my homeworld) fairly quickly, and from the star there were three phase lines branching off - each to one planet. I managed to take one of those stars (after some battling with the AI who had been in the process of colonising it), then went off to find out what the other two were - both had been colonised, but one was

Thanks for the replies. I don't have either Entrenchment or Diplomacy, just the basic version. I will get them some time, but I would prefer to get used to the basic game before I move on to them. My basic strategy has been to move out and look around for as many planets as possible. When I find pirates (which I have made inactive) I just get away from them. When I find a colonisable planet, I usually attack whoever is there and take it. This strategy usually has me bei

That's a very informative reply.....but.....'starbase'? I don't know anything about these. I'll have a 'quick' game and find out. By the way, I forgot to mention that I'm doing mostly the 1v1 small random maps or small 1v1 scenarios. Cheers.

Hi, How is it possible to complete a game (and win!) in under two hours, or isn't it? I'm a fairly new player and most of the time until recently I was saving games that went on for over two hours with the intention of coming back to them later (only to forget what had been going on and started a new game anyway). Recently, I've started playing games right through to their conclusion, and, even though I'm still yet to win a game, I've found them to be really good games.

I'm new to this game and have been making a few maps to play on. I think some of these maps might be good for inexperienced players to try out, and maybe even experienced players might have some fun on them, too. However, I'm having trouble uploading the .galaxy file to the WinCustomize website that the Sins website directs me to every time I try. The trouble I am having is, if I don't include a .jpg screenshot along with the .zip file containing my .galaxy file,

Reply to Maps? in Sins Multiplayer

I just played a custom made map with wormholes in it, myself. I'm new to the game and have recently found a way to make pirates inactive - this was great because pirates have been a plague for me ever since I started playing. Anyway, I played my first custom map yesterday and really enjoyed it (even though I lost after three hours) and decided to make a new custom map today and play on that. I included wormholes because yesterday I played as the Advent and noticed something about Wormhole Mas
